Performers from the worlds of Hip-Hop and R&B have come out to show support for celebrity fitness trainer Darius Miller, who was beaten into a coma early Wednesday (December 26) morning.
Miller attempted to stop a group of men from videotaping Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin’s two daughters outside of a downtown Atlanta club.
The 41-year-old trainer was allegedly attacked by two men allegedly contracted with a local promotions company known as 01 Entertainment.
Lawyers for 01 Entertainment claim that Miller was knocked unconscious after he fell to the ground during a physical confrontation with a cameraman.
Today (December 28), an arrest warrant was issued for Apollo Holmes, who is charged with aggravated assault.
Holmes is still at large as of press-time and more arrests may be made in Millers assault.
Miller, who still remains in a coma, has been visited by rapper Mase, actress Keisha Knight Pulliam, Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Takeo Spikes, T-Boz and Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition.
Mayor Franklin is hoping that the media and others focus on finding the suspects rather than focusing on her children and their affiliation with Miller.
“It is important that we remember that this is a police investigation into the assault of a man, whose life lingers in the balance,” Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin said in a statement. “I understand the professional paradox of a free press but the media frenzy surrounding my children and this pending investigation does not advance this investigation or the public safety of our community.”
Miller remains in critical condition at Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.
Kai Franklin-Graham recently pleaded guilty a federal charge of “structuring financial transactions” to avoid detection in a South Carolina federal court.
Franklin-Graham illegally wired her ex-husband Tremayne Graham thousands of dollars while he was a fugitive hiding in California.
Tremayne Graham, who was affiliated with The Black Mafia Family (BMF) and the Sin City Mafia, is serving a life sentence in a Kentucky federal prison for moving thousands of pounds of cocaine from California to Atlanta.
Graham allegedly used his popular 404 Motorsports auto business as one of the fronts for his drug dealing business.
Kai Franklin-Graham is expected to avoid prison due to a plea with federal prosecutors.
