(AllHipHop News) Nationally renowned Hip-Hop educator Michael Eric Dyson will host an in-depth Q&A with boxing champion Floyd Mayweather next week during a new special on HBO.
Dyson, who is a Georgetown University Professor of Sociology, will conduct a one-on-one with Floyd Mayweather on “Mayweather: Speaking Out.”
Dyson has authored books on a number of Hip-Hop themed topics, from Tupac Shakur to Nas.
Additionally, Michael Eric Dyson teaches a course based on Jay-Z at Georgetown University.
“With his extraordinary record (42-0, 26 KOs), Floyd Mayweather has proven himself one of the ring’s all-time greats,” said Ken Hershman, president, HBO Sports. “Now, we are giving viewers an opportunity to see another side of the man. Michael Eric Dyson is an exceptional journalist and he’ll explore what Floyd has to say on a number of issues.”
The 35-year-old champion will discuss his mentality in the weeks leading up to his highly anticipated super welterweight bout with Miguel Coto on May 5.
“Floyd Mayweather: Speaking Out” will debut on Saturday April 21 at 10:30 p.m. ET.
