EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Havoc Reveals How Jay-Z’s Summer Jam Diss Affected Mobb Deep And Put Havoc “In The Line Of Fire”

(AllHipHop News) In Part Three of AllHipHop.com’s exclusive interview with Havoc, the super producer and one half of the legendary duo Mobb Deep explains the impact that Jay-Z’s infamous Summer Jam diss had on the group.

“The impact for me was that it just made me have to step my game up,” said Havoc. “Everybody was coming down on P, but I was holding him down like son is still good. I just felt like I had to step my game up when that happened. That should have been a beef that should have never took place.”

In his sit down with Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur, Havoc also spoke about how over time, Prodigy’s numerous beef’s put him “in the line of fire.”

“Whatever one person does in a group reflects on me. If I’m walking through someone’s ‘hood, that this dude [Prodigy] done dissed, I can’t sit there and go, ‘yo, but nah’ – they looking at me like I’m him, and dudes want to score points off of that,” explained Havoc. “So that always put me in the line of fire.”

Check out Part Three of AllHipHop.com’s exclusive interview with Havoc, where he speaks on how the Jay-Z Summer Jam diss affected Prodigy, his thoughts on Prodigy being protected by alleged NYPD security, and his relationship with the rest of the Mobb Deep crew:

man, with everything that’s coming out of this cats mouth he might as well go on “The View” because he’s sounding like a lil’ b!tch right now…”P’s beef got me in trouble”. “what Jay said hurt my feelings”…STFU and go to work…in all of these videos I was waiting for someone to bring him some cheese for that whine…

    • Sounding like a 35 year old man to me who is finally realizing that “beef” and grown ass men is a volatile mix of stupidity.

      • RichFromBX

I get that he’s older now but it’s real b!tch move to put your business out there like that…y’all had a good run, sh!t fell apart now just go about your business…you don’t need to even speak the other man’s name…guess you don’t think you have much of a future if you just going to put your past out there for interest…

  • Casor_Greener

Dude is a gump for real. This the fake O.G.’s way of begging for the homey to call him.
“I don’t want to diss gim but…..WE still brothers….I’ll ride for him….PLEASE JUST CALL ME DAWG, I NEED SOME MONEY!!” AHAHAHAHAHAHAH These NY cats always show their stripes in the end.

    • How does he need money when he produces for the likes of mary j blige? havoc is a huge producer once again yall say some of the dumbest things. lol

      • Casor_Greener

Yeah because no rapper/producer has ever blew his money. If JD got hemmed up, Havoc can too.

      • immackulate

YOU act like he exclusively producing for Mary J … keep it funky when them niggahs split up they had less than 200k in the Mobb Deep account – them niggas barely eating and that’s gonna dry up quick cuz now they aint getting money together – these niggahs are set to air on TVOne’s UNSUNG come 2022

    • ny cats???? when niigaz do some sucka shiit in ur lil wack ass part town, nobody says ur whole wack ass town is wack….

      • Casor_Greener

    • Yeah that whole nwa/dr dre thing was real “man like” lol yall say some real silly stuff

        apples and oranges SON

  • churchboy2

Did anyone catch the past tense at 2:38 where Havoc says “I WAS riding with son…”?
As much as Hav is trying to not cut strings that statement seems quite final.
…Or am I reading too much into that statement?

    • 7yoyo7

No you’re right I noticed that too.

  • immackulate

    corned beef sh!t…

  • water_ur_seeds

the only slacking that was done in mobb deep is havoc! dude is a wasteman, hes talking like p created this whole mess and that he regrets it… p is about business, and havoc isnt, seems hes about having fun and hanging out… hence why hes letting brim come home and extort him… havoc has held p back from loads of ventures but he stayed loyal… they could of easily had a successful record label and clothing line back in the day when they where in their prime…

p aint on that schit, havoc should of followed prodigy and made business moves together, they too old to be hanging in the hood, they could of gravitated out of the hood and bought their mans and them with them and giving them jobs, like they have always done previously… brim and them want handouts and is talking reckless lies…

everything havocs saying there, hes basically letting brim do the same thing, creating beefs… havoc needs to man up and speak his mind on situations, not just agree and go with the flow…

More than half of the comments here are because of the break-up. It just doesn’t make sense to diss Prodigy or Havoc now that they are “beefin”.
They’ve been on their carrer for a longtime, nothing lasts forever!
    Chill!

I’m seeing a couple of people on here talking about “New York” cats and all that but throughout the history of hip hop/rap music there has always been beef between friends and foes of the business. Havoc need to let this one go and do his #’s on his own. Makes no sense to go at P by calling him “gay” and such when he is the one sounding and looking queer. Too late in the game for this B.S.

  • DaTRUTHisDaTRUTH

In my honest opinion I think that Ferg Brim put the battery in Hav’s back. Dude been away for 15 years and now he is back with that “I made Mobb Deep” and “Yall owe me” mentality. Dude got Hav blooded out in his diss video to P? What part of the game is that? Who knows what really went on between P and Hav but what we do know is that Mobb Deep as a group is done.
