Jay Z is not boycotting Florida. He can say he’s boycotting Florida all he wants to, but the facts remain: Queen B (his wife) just performed two sold out shows at the BB&T center in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, and Jay-Z is performing in Florida next month. There are no cancellations regarding his performance next month. The other fact is that Queen B and Jay-Z live in a mansion in Florida where they both pay property taxes – yeah, that’s right, they pay property taxes in the state where they live. That’s right, in Florida. They are generating plenty of money for the state of Florida in the form of performance and property tax revenue. Do you think they are going to move anytime soon from Florida? I don’t know, but if they did, they would lose their asset protection because Florida has the best asset protection laws in the country. Some of these entertainers are acting in a hypocritical fashion that I just had to point out. In fact, Madonna lives in Florida too. Even Kimmy K. does her show E reality show, Kourtney and Kim Take On MIami, in FLORIDA, and Kayne is frequently seen on that show.

    • JamalFromGhostwriter

You going entirely too hard. The root of the problem has nothing to do with the entertainment industry.

  • Golgo 13

can imagine ppl will be dissiin jay z and Justin timberlake 4 not boycotting 2

  • ItGoesDownINtheDM

why would you boycott performing tho ?? i dont get it … imo this hurts the fans in florida more than it does the state of florida … shoot i dooubt zimmerman is even a fan …. ijs ??????

  • Sean Power

    different between jayz
JT and bey and everyone else on this list is they had upcoming concert with
contract signs, mean if they miss they will face law suites

    This boycott is coming
for good place but in bigger picture the support of these laws are really not
support of 80 % of people on the list and what about all the other states that
    have this law

    what they should be
doing is hold really in the state and try get voters to pressure the reps to change
this law or get voted out of office

  • I hope Diddy feels like crap now, because all he did was send a support tweet…Get off your ass Diddy and call your friends and boycott.

  • disqus_wP9qaQP4Hv

Commom J! fu.k a law suit with all the billion you be screaming you are telling me you can just pay up and stand for this good cause that we are all hurting from? with all dem picasso and basqui fu.k it i can’t pronounce no spell that shit cause i can’t afford it. lol but you get my gist right. Stand up for us for once is what i’m saying

  • jacksjus

I briefly overheard something on the radio this morning about this. Now I can see for myself what is happening here and I find it ridiculous. The SYG law has nothing to do with the fans. You may as well boycott Chicago and Detroit while you’re at it. SMH!

    • Guest

Nah Florida needs the boycott. A lady fired warning shots to fend off her allegedly abusive boyfriend, hurting no one, and gets 20 years. Zimmerman kills a guy and gets off.

Those are just two cases among others.

If you see nothing wrong with your state and their “laws” (assuming you live there) then…yeah. No comment.

    • Tann01

Is it lawful to kill unarmed kids in chicago and detroit?

  • junj03

Honestly, this makes no sense to me.
The fans are going to pay the price because of a law.
If the law bothers you so much then do something to CHANGE IT!
this wont help at all plus there’s Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts (though the term is used very loosely there), Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode
    Island, South Carolina, South
Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming have adopted Castle Doctrine statutes, and other states
(Iowa, Virginia, and Washington) have considered
    stand-your-ground laws of their own.

They going to boycott those cities as well?

    • @Real_SirJamie

  • @Real_SirJamie

If this is true then this is a small step in the direction we need to be going. I know some people have a problem looking at the bigger picture but hopefully this will provoke the “fans” (people of Florida) to get out and vote or protest or SOMETHING.

    • The law also helps millions of other Florida residents protect themselves from being carjacked, robbed, raped, or murdered. Just because it worked in favor of one guy we didn’t like doesn’t mean it needs to be changed. We gotta be careful when we start tampering with the laws. Remember when Jesse Jackson and all them were campaigning for tougher drug laws… How did that work out for us?

      • @Real_SirJamie

Whoa VERY good point sir. All that turned into was a free pass for police to literally Terrorize out neighborhoods. Yet and still the problem remains. Not saying that this “stand your ground” law is targeting my people, but the scenario that played out in the Zimmerman/Martin case can be repeated on any block in any neighborhood. It is of my opinion that people who were once fearful of Africans (I’m not at all saying that’s a good thing) now have a lawful excuse to follow and harass my people and the second they feel “threatened” they can kill one of us then plead “self defense” or the S.Y.G. Law. It just makes us uncomfortable. We don’t need a “law” that protects us from looters or carjackers, we have GOD GIVEN SELF DEFENSE RIGHTS. But you make a very good point sir.

      • I would argue that your issue is not with the “law” itself, but with the jury’s interpretation of the law. The Zimmerman case didn’t present enough evidence to support the idea he felt threatened. BUT THE JURY IS TO BLAME, not the law.

No disrespect to Trayvon and his family..its a tragic situation and I truly believe Zimmerman should be in jail…BUT…why boycott over this…we got blacks killing each other in my city (Baltimore) and Chicago and other cities all over the country everyday and we wanna boycott THIS? We have bigger fish to fry as a people. I understand the logic behind it…but most of these people on this list..the politicians and people that would deal with changing the law..aren’t coming to see them wtf do they care.

    • Caliwaver

That black on black shit don’t work fam. Most crimes and killings are from the same race. U never here about white on white crime do u?

  • “Stand your ground” is a right. You don’t campaign to take away someone else’s rights. Don’t use one verdict to determine whether a law is necessary. Instead, make sure the law is applied evenly. I just want to know that Trayvon would receive the same benefit of the law if the altercation lead to him killing Zimmerman.

Damn expand that to no songs on the radio & add rick ross & diddy & im movin to FL. & voting to keep stand your ground forever

  • Sonyafun

I haven’t heard any of these artists state anything about a boycott except Stevie Wonder. I thought it was a stupid thing to do. I don’t like the idea of mixing entertainment with politics and law. If entertainers are being paid to entertain, then that’s what they should be thinking about and doing. Not everyone in Florida agreed with the decision and to punish the people who love the music is not right. Remember music can bring peace and love. It should not be used as bribery. If anyone would realize this, I would think it would be Alicia, seeing as how she did NOT boycott Israel. I wouldn’t think she would sign something to boycott Florida even if Stevie Wonder did.
