Hip-Hop Rumors: Looks Who Is Dissing Jay Z Now!

Jon Stewart is pretty much acclaimed as one of the dudes that gets it poppin in politics for the younger generation. He’s dope and he’s a critical thinker, for sure. He’s also great at challenging conventional thinking. He’s decadently against the Republican Party and Fox News, but every so often takes time to chastise Obama. Well, Jay Z has not been in his sights since I’ve been a watcher. But that’s all changed. Seems like Jon and The Daily Show took exception to the way Jay handled the Barney’s situation. They said: “White people have been watching their musical icons sell out to corporations for decades. It’s the American dream and we’re finally achieving it. You go Jay Z Penny!”

So disrespectful!

Jay Z is catching it from all over.

Is this warranted?

Heh heh. Called that fool Jay Z Penny.

  • Casor_G

Jay Z is a coward and this exposed him. He gets on his records and talks all this “I’ll never sell out” b.s. but he is being controlled by these people. Dude has been a sell out for some time now. Nobody should be surprised.

And it’s obvious that statement was probably prepared by a Barney’s rep to help him save face.

Oh and this $#!t was funny!

    • Celz

He’s not controlled.. He just wants more money.. Yea after American Gangster it’s been all downhill.. Niccas will run over a thousand poor folk to get power but then be shook to piss off one businessman..

    • E B

I honestly don’t see where he has sold out. He still helps the black community with scholarship funds, and I am sure many other things through his foundation. He still stands up for the black community when he perceives a slight. The problem is that people hold celebrities in such a high regard that they are expected to change the world which is ridiculous. How is Jay being controlled by “these people”? If you feel like the Barneys situation was such a ludicrous one; then what have you done? Where are your petitions or grassroots protests?

      • Dubz

He didn’t sell out…Somebody came with an accusation and he waited for the facts…these people were stopped, outside the store…not in the store but out side the store…Plus..they had already purchased their items…if Barney truly had a problem or thought they was getting jacked…they would have called the cops before they were getting out the store….What store wants their product to walk out the door if they think the person paid with a stolen credit card?

      • Guest

It had to be an employee that informed the cops waiting outside.Otherwise the officers won’t have KNOWN that he purchased a belt in order to stop him. There had to be an accusation in order for the police to take him in on any basis.

      • RapItUp

Nevermind that the cops can easily sight a NEGRO walking out of Barney’s with a Barney’s bag, there’s no way an undercover cop would be able to know said NEGRO shopped there… do people think on this damn thing?? I got a better idea- Let’s all blame Jay Z for this!

      • E B

How does that equate to Jay being a sell out? A sell out is a person who turns their back on and blatantly admonishes their race. Jay has never done any such thing. He has always tried to help black people and I have never heard him say anything disparaging about us a people. This term is being thrown around too loosely. Larry Elder, Don Lemon, Jason Whitlock these are some examples of sell outs. Obama is the president I haven’t hear him speak out much on racial injustice; is he too a sellout?

      • SBRon

        You nailed it bruh!!

      • Dubz

I was agreeing with you bro…lol

      • Casor_G

They told him not to make a statement or back out and he didn’t. That’s the way corporate control works. If you really think Jay-Z created that PR statement out of his own “yeah yeah, get money” english you are delusional.

I’m not in a position of power to influence Barney’s but I promise you this, I would never speak or partner with a group that had recently come under fire for racial profiling, mistreatment of minorities, etc. As far as grass roots campaigning and isht, been there and done that. MLK marches, voter registration drives, counter protests to klan rallies, etc.The last presidential election I drove senior citizens to voting booths in 3rd ward houston, so you can miss me with the “what have you done lately talk” because the isht I talk about I live by.

Jay-Z failing to speak out against Barney’s was a coward move, plain and simple. He could have said “Until the facts are clear our deal will be postponed” and made a bigger statement about profiling. I bet if he “allegedly” smacked some white female tomorrow, they would drop his @ss in a heartbeat. Go ask Tiger

      • E B

Jay Z is a very well spoken person so I would assume that he can come to his own conclusions and make his own statement. Where did you get this “they told Jay Z not to make a statement or back out” from. I never heard that. What you are saying is conjecture. What I do know is that he said most of the profits go to his foundation which in turn will help fund financially strapped kids fund their education. Not only that, he did speak out about the situation maybe just not as you and many other people would have liked him to. As far as what you say you have done in your community I salute that but you can save them angry rants fam, because at the end of the day it is still gonna be what have you done lately. If people are gonna scapegoat Jay then you gotta go at all entertainers. Macy’s as well has deals with a couple of black entertainers where said entertainers keep the profits. Where is all of the aggyness about that?

      • Casor_G

Normally I would not care about an entertainer failing to make a stand on any relevant social issues as I expect nothing less…BUT… if you get on an album talking isht about how you don’t bow down to the “White man” or “corporate” america. Then live by it!! I guess honor and integrity are over rated these days. Maybe I’m wrong to expect someone to live by their words. Consider me old fashioned in that sense. This is no angry rant, just my interpretation of the situation

  • Bodie

This man is closing in on a billion dollars.. Making big moves and these crackas hate that.

    • Live Well

They don’t care that much, bruh. He’s no threat to them

    • dee

believe those “crackas” money is way longer by time jay reach a billion they prolly be banking in 10 billion like Live Well said he is no threat

      • Bodie

Yea, those crackas got money generations long no doubt, but they still don’t want to see people of color coming up, threat or not. If you think they don’t hate, I don’t know what to tell ya

      • dee

thats true they dont want people of color making money

      • What you gotta understand though is, he’s only gettin as much as them “crackas” are ALLOWIN him to get. They see the power he has in makin masses of blind mufukkas follow his every word like it’s gospel and be willing to sacrifice every last shred of their integrity for money and material bullshit…if Jay said right this moment that the lil disguises with the glasses, mustache and funny nose was what was hot right now, dumb niggas across the nation would be rockin that shit by noon tomorrow…and them corporate cats are milkin that power for all it’s worth, trust and believe. Shit may be sweet in Carterland now but let’s just stay tuned and see what happens once they no longer need him…they’ll strip it all from him just as quick as they gave it to him.

    • E B

Naw fam these niggas hate that even more. He sure isn’t a threat to the white people, but for some reason we as black people think he is a threat to us. SMH

    • SBRon

But sadly, black folks HATE it, too!! I’m reading the comments…There should already be numerous black billionaires in various industries, but with so many “crab in the barrel”, “white man’s ice is colder” type hypocrites, it ain’t hap’nin!!

And you can tell when a black person is a threat by the increase in negative press and character assassinations as their power & influence increases. And, again it’s “Plantation Psychosis” ass niggaz leading the charge!! Look how easily you fell for the Jay Z distraction instead of the racist policies of Barney’s?!

I’ll end with a KRS quote:

“You’re still a slave, look at how you behave/
Debating on where & when & how & what Massa gave”

  • dee

how is it disrespectful? jay didnt care about his people being profiled i didnt see the editor on here calling jay disrespectful

    • Immortal

      It’s always about the Benjamins

  • I think Jay should’ve said something about it though…the Barney situation. Every man for himself I suppose

That’s why I used the word some. I mean like what’s jay supposed to do?

    • klamond

This man is telling the truth. All the southern moguls keepin it trill.

  • Executive

All these fake ass “mad” people are fuckin weak. For example: if a black dude shoots another black dude he’s praised and they say he’s “real” and that was gangsta, a white guy shoots a black dude and it’s racism? Stop playing both sides of the fence.

    • whatupdoe

Not the same thing. Blacks go to jail for shooting other blacks.

      • Executive

        But it’s glorified to some.

    • klamond

WTF does a shootings have to do with it? Don’t start reaching Stretch Armstrong

    • Freebe Jackson

If a black drug dealer shoots another black drug dealer its looked at differently then if a black drug dealer shoots a black man with a job taking care of his family…..street shit happen when you in street shit….the same way white bikers and drug dealers kill other white bikers and drug dealers…same with the mafia…if a mafia family kills another member of the mafia its different from a white criminal killing a innocent white person

  • That_N

The whole Jay Z / Barneys collab is kinda strange to me. I mean most people who shop at Barneys go there for high end KNOWN designer brands. Who TF is going to Barneys to buy a Jay Z watch???

    • E B

It’s a Hublot watch. You do know that Hublot is one of the most luxurious high end watch making companies right?

      • RapItUp

I think it wouldn’t be a big deal, but Jayz does speak out a lot about racism but now that it may affect his business now and in the future he backing off. End of the day he talk about money more then anything so he just doing what business men do. Nobody with over 100 million has got it being the good guy.

    • SBRon

These dudes would be well-advised to heed the words of the one they so despise:

“Niggas wanna strip u to the bone for shit you own
Hate a nigga like that faggot, get your own!”

Asking that man to walk out on some contract is a bit much. Who cares about his business there because most of us couldn’t afford to even get them to slide the glass open to let you hold the watch let alone pay for one.
The 2 victims should file a suit and handle business. That’s all there is to it.

        Chalky a lame house nicca

    • EL_DON

Bird man is not a positive black role model. Yes he has provided a lot of jobs through his label, but he also promotes violence, misogyny, and glorifies the ghetto lifestyle. Dude doesn’t even talk proper English. He can’t give enough free turkeys or coats to make up for the misguided education he has exposed to the youth that listen to his music. Jay Z, and Diddy have taken the game to another level. Jay does not speak on his past to often and he doesn’t glorify what he did but he does speak of it as a means to get were he is now. Bird man is a disgrace to the black community along with Chief Keef and all those other derelicts that can’t speak proper.

      • Weedras

Well Said… dude is damn near 50 and still hasn’t shown an ounce of maturity….

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

At least Bird know where he came from…Jay and Diddy taking the game to a new level? How? By selling out the rest of us…Diddy was getting investigated for molesting minors and got pictures of him grinding on white men…That’s your idea of taking things to another level? HA!!! And this article explains how Jay feel about the rest of us… If that’s what i have to do for $500 million, i’ll rather be J Prince…

      • EL_DON

It’s alright to recognize where you come from but to glorify the violence and the drug dealing is another. Being investigated for a crime and being convicted of a crime are two totally different things. Also those are rumors, this site has been the only news organization to mention Diddy’s alleged misconduct. So take it with a grain of salt. That’s like you saying MJ was a child molestor when he was not convicted in criminal court. How did Jay and Diddy sellout? Is it because they choose to do business with major brands. They are braking molds and creating lanes for other young black entrepreneurs. Since you mentioned Diddy, how about Lil Wanyes VP of YMCMB Mack Maine being arrested for brutally beating and sexual assaulting a female. That is confirmed unlike your Diddy store. If anyone sold you out its Lil Wayne and Birdman by fitting the negative stereotype of who black people are. There are many people that live in low income neighborhoods and do not speak or act or treat women like Lil Wayne.

    • Gully Creepa

The South has/had a lot of good rappers/Djs. Z-Ro, Trae the Truth, Dj Screw, Big Moe, Fat Pat, Lil Flip, Z-Rino, and that is just to name a few.

    • Action Ant

outsider talk. Birdman burning a bunch of folks out of their just-dues. (including folks on his own label). talk about what you KNOW.

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

you started off with the perfect quote, “outsider talk”…Because how you know he burning people? Did he burn you out of your just dues? So everything you say is outsider talk..

      • Inmadopicouroz✓QUEENSᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

nah nicca, Action Ant is really Lil twist broke azzz!

      • Action Ant

right. cuz that makes perfect sense.

      • Action Ant

Well you just answered that question for me didn’t ya? great job. It’s public knowledge that he doesn’t pay many people their royalties or pay producers. Do your research before you go preaching the gospel on the internet.

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

no its not public knowledge…Have you seen a paystub? Have you seen a tax return? I don’t hear Wayne talking about he’s not getting paid…I don’t hear Nicky talking about she’s not getting paid…You are talking about a few disgruntal employees…You have them with every successful company…I hear people who work at McDonalds talking about they are getting cheated out of money…Again, all you giving is outsider talk…

      • Action Ant

Well obviously if I say “outsider talk” that means I’m referring from a different standpoint than you. And I’m not talking about disgruntled employees. again. do your research. It’s very public knowledge. I’m wasting my time here. shame on me.

      • SBRon

        He’s the new Reverend “FLAKE”…

      • SBRon

        Which ain’t much…

    • dee

i guess you didnt see the turk video about birdman them since you claim birdman “still the same” …. 50 a sellout? and birdman not? what i know 50 pays his people birdman pockets his people money

    • NEWSKULL

50 is not a sell out… he is a role model… he learned a lot from Master P in terms of business move he need to do early one… in a sense he is the “Master P” of New York… now Birdman???… please!!… Slim is that nigga

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

50 got a new show where he is supposed to helping troubled youth, and 90% of the class is white…Thats a effing sellout in my book…Everybody knows that the majority of kids in jail look like him…Why he isn’t helping those kids…SELLOUT!!!

    • Mike Davis

Bruh, you either bi-polar, or a hypocrite. I see you quoting the Bible and being self-righteous in earlier posts, but then you don’t consider Birdman or J Prince sellouts…when they profiting off of negativity and self-destruction??? Be consistent…

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

I see you don’t know the definition of a sellout…I’m not supporting what they are doing…I’m saying they aren’t changing who they are to fit in with this pegan, white, roman society like Diddy, 50, and Jay…Talk what you know…

  • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

No bruh, a black man hatin’ on another black man based on their geographical location is “taking a L”… Guess u want a Black Civil War? “All niggaz South of the Mason-Dixon Line report for duty. We bout to wipe out dem Yankee niggaz!!”

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

      • SBRon

Are you referring to the greatest work of FICTION ever written?!
Because it’s clear you know NOTHING about the teachings of Christ…

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

        Mathew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

looks like i know more about Christ than you…

      • SBRon

Dude, you need to change your name to “Toddler” Rawchaa, because you can’t even comprehend what I said about that book of fiction you’re quoting! YOUR book has caused death & despair, been used to justify slavery, etc… Now tell me that is in step with the teachings of the man you call Jesus Christ?!?

When I said go read a book, I was thinking along the lines of “Visions for Black MEN” by Na’im Akbar to help you transition from the toddler boy mentality you have into MANHOOD!!

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

Your reply shows your ignorance…The bible doesn’t cause wars…Man-made religions cause wars…I don’t ascribe to any religion, and why would i read a book by a black man who has an Arab name? His name alone shows his confusion…Black people wrote the bible…Arabs wrote the Koran, so why should we follow another man’s nationality when they wouldn’t have the Koran if they didn’t first take the 5 books of Moses from the bible…The bible is my history book, not the Koran or any book written by a confused black man…

      • SBRon

Toddler, WHO wrote the bible YOU live by?

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

        The Hebrews

      • SBRon

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

with all these homosexual celebrities, gang bangers, and sell out uncle toms, of course we need a civil war…You really think Christ would stand beside this kingdom?

      • SBRon

The REAL guy DID!! And you called ME ignorant?!? Wow…

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

When did Christ stand beside the Roman Empire…The Romans crucified him…You are ignorant!!!

      • SBRon

Toddler, continue annoying others on this thread! I’m done with you!! I was referring to the downtrodden which would include dozens of categories, even homosexuals! You’ve already been called an “ignorant dimwit”…I couldn’t agree more!!

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

You really are effed up if you think Christ want people to be homosexuals!!! Christ said that he came not to change the Law (Mat. 5:17); and the law is that homosexuality is forbidden (Lev. 20:13)…You sound like a child trying to slap box with God…”Look at the lil Baby”–Lupe

      • SBRon

This is what people in a losing argument do…Try to put words in another’s mouth! If you can show me where I said “Christ would want people to be homosexuals”, you win?!? The bible also says, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you”.

And, as I said before, I’m done with your ignorant, hypocritical ass!!

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

Do you even understand what you are reading…When has correcting someone become judging someone…When you are in court, do you tell the judge,”You can’t judge me”…Judgement according to the bible is “Death”…That’s what Christ done away with, the judgement of Death…he gave us grace…you don’t understand the bible…Thats why you should get away from books written by black men who are following Arabs and start researching your true history…

      • SBRon

Idiot, I call you that because by now, you should realize I don’t believe in that book, because I understand it well enough to know it’s NOT the key to black people’s freedom, justice or equality!! If it were, with millions of bible-thumpers such as yourself, we’d have been there a LONG time ago!!! But,
to each his own, l’il dude…

“Put down your Bible and release your sins
The Bible is dead, God is alive within
        Metaphysically speaking, I’ll be clearer
You wanna see God? Take a look in the mirror!”

      • STRONGEST LEADER SINCE PAC

what they teach in the churches today isn’t the truth of the bible…If that’s what i had to go on then i would be as ignorant as you are too…

Rip the title from off the front of the Bible, God don’t live there!

“You’re simply lovin’ the scripture, same scripture that whipped ‘cha, Soon it’ll hit ‘cha–Religion’s gettin’ richer.

  • Weedras

People who live in NY know that this Barney shit is being blown out of proportion and ppl are trying to use Jay Z as some scape goat.. why aren’t people asking Usher, Diddy etc. to pull their products from Macy’s since they’re also in controversy.. the fact still remain the good will suffer for the bad… why i see high school kids in $1000 dollar outfits and they aint got a damn job.. a lot ppl especially the younger ones are scamming… many ppl know this and are acting as if it isn’t a problem and stores are just being overzealous and racist when its the bad apples that’s making it bad for the good…

    • EL_DON

I have to disagree. I live in NYC and MOST of the youth have jobs and choose to spend it on luxury clothing because that’s the drug of choice out here. There are the very few bad apples that ruin it for those young black people doing it right. I do agree with your point on Usher and Diddy. No one has called for them to pull their product from Macys, Jay Z is being made the scapegoat because he is currently the face of hip hop and merchandising. However we should not be asking for Jay Z to boycott his deal it could put some black people out of work due to that. What can be done is the public themselves boycott his partnership and merchandise. We need to be self motivators, self reliant, and choose to follow our own lead, not Jay Z’s. African Americans have more buying power then we assume. Corporations are constantly advertising to us even when there are no blacks in the commercial. They assume we want what they have, and try to sell the white luxurious life to us through car, and clothing advertisements. The use the concept of if white people look like it makes them happy and successful blacks will follow because we want the same happiness and success.

      • Weedras

i guess it depends on what part of NYC you live in but i know a job at Mcdonald’s doesn’t afford you a $25,000 closet of clothes.. as i said many hardworking folk who treat themselves to a luxury item every now and then…. i myself make a luxury purchase every now and then.. but i’m talking about many who are not even working … i was Kings Plaza two weeks ago and a dude came up to me selling me a $200 gift card for $100… i also know guys who are apart of the scamming so i know what i’m talking about.. they are ripping off companies and are messing up honest folks credit… i agree also that black folk have enormous buying power but they’d prefer to look to people to do the fighting for them hence why they looking at Jay Z as some savior of sorts that man is his own person as i am my own… if common folk don’t wanna organize and something done don’t look to prominent ppl to shoulder the load…

Jay-Z has a business deal with Barneys, Jay-Z got the deal off of what he accomplished which was of course was supported by his fans. Jay-Z don’t have to save anyone or make a statement for “us” negroes, we should be making a statement if we feel some type of way, if I had a business deal with Barneys no body would care, because you don’t know me. I mean negroes getting racially profiled in a store, for real is that what the discussion is about, that shit happens all day every day in every type of establishment. What about Trayvon, Oscar, Kimani, Amadu, Sean, Joetavius (in Atlanta)………………….. I ain’t talkin’ bout profit I’m talkin’ bout pain I’m talkin’ bout despair I’m talkin’ bout SHAME I ain’t talkin’ bout gossip I ain’t talkin’ bout Game
I ain’t talkin bout Jimmy I ain’t talkin’ bout Dame I’m talkin’ bout real shit Dem people playin’…………So really what are we talking about??????

    • Raheem Classick

You noticed no one replied to you because they rather talk and gossip about trying to take Jay Z down instead of their own current fragile history”

  • hesh

What’s funny is this post about about racist comments and how we should treat one another as equals, yet every other comment days “cracker” or “nigga” like it’s not one in the same. Until we learn to stop using racist terms in our everyday language things will never change. Do anyone expect to be taken seriously when they discuss racism and use hateful words to exemplify what they are saying. SMH

The Daily Show clowns on everybody regardless of who they are. Stop acting like you have to claim strict loyalty to this or that. When shit’s dumb, it’s dumb and should be called out.

Look People Jay-z’s only purpose is to sell shit to black folks. He has no value as Sean Carter bc none of us care about him, hence the comeback from retirement. Jay-z has created a lifestyle Sean Carter cant support. He keeps rapping bc we support a black person no matter how guilty, shady or detrimental they really are. The only reason they gave him less than 1% of the Nets was so they can successfully displace blacks without backlash from the community or Al Sharpton. Its ok for you to build a stadium and move all these poor people or re-gentrify a neighborhood so none of the residents can afford to live there. Can you imagine if it was all white people doing that in Brooklyn!?!

Moreover J has and will never care about us…unfortunately black entertainers, athletes included, are our new leaders. Back in the day, only pastors had money, power, and influence in our community. Not the case anymore. He has and will always be a sellout that gets a pass bc he pretends to have been a big drug dealer. When really there is no difference btwn him, nikki minaj, black eyed peas, or even mc hammer.

He is no illuminati you dumb asses, he’s merely a pawn for the CEO’s to sell to us bc we will do whatever our celebs tell us to do. You have to understand no black celeb has value if they cant get blacks behind them or a product. He is no boss, just a monkey for the truly wealthy to reach us. And by truly wealthy, I mean 15 billion in worth or more, bc these guys pay more in taxes than J, oprah, and Puffy are worth combined. No way they let you at the table being worth so little.

    • dee

i agree and like i keep saying because he is successful in the people eye he does no wrong to them

    • iamwhoiam

Enough with the illuminati!!! I mean c’mon that ish get’s old. That man does plenty of charity work for youth and otherwise. Is that the anti christ orders or Jay Z himself?

      • k cox

I agree, that’s why I mentioned it before these dumbasses said he was illuminati. He’s a koon for corporations…Charity work is a joke and we all know it. Its a beneficial combination of PR and tax write-offs

WHY DOES RACIST DECISIONS OF BARNEYS BECOME JAY Z’S BURDEN? FIRST OF ALL THE SAME WAY THEY DIDN’T WANT THE YOUNG BLACKMAN IN THE STORE THE SAME RACIST ELEMENTS DON’T WANT JAY Z PRODUCTS SOLD OUT OF THE STORE. THIS IS DIABOLICAL INTELLIGENCE AT WORK. THEY GET TO KILL TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE. RACIAL PROFILE A YOUNG BLACK MAN FOR BUYING A BELT, THEN PUT ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL BLACKMAN IN A BOX FOR HAVING THE AUDACITY TO ATTEMPT TO PLACE HIS PRODUCTS IN BARNEYS IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE SICKEST THING IS THAT BLACKS WILL CALL FOR JAYZ TO LOSE HIS BUSINESS BUT NOT SAY A WORD TO FERRAGAMO. WAKE UP PEOPLE! WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE AND PUSH TO TELL SALVATORE FERRAGAMO TO PULL HIS PRODUCTS OUT OF BARNEYS. THE KID BOUGHT A FERRAGAMO BELT NOT A JAY Z ANYTHING!. I HAVEN’T HEARD ANY MEDIA QUESTION IF FERRAGAMO SUPPORTS THE KID OR BARNEYS. FERRAGAMO SHOULD GIVE THE KID A PAKIR OF SHOES FOR HIS TROUBLE, BUT INSTEAD THE NARRATIVE IS JAY Z SHOULD BEAR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE INSTITUTIONAL RACISM OF MOST HIGH END RETAILERS. GTFOH!

    • iamwhoiam

      You’ve got a point…a few of them!

    • Shad

Point taken BUT as a successful BLACK man from the hood Jay Z has the burden of his people whether he likes it or not. The amount of success he has reached is almost unheard of for an African American and to whom much is given, much is expected. Ferragamo doesn’t share that same burden, he could give a f*ck less if we support him or not, so it doesn’t apply. What people have to understand is that one black person represents the whole race, whereas in other races its not like that. Money has no color so Jay Z is “allowed” where as Shawn Carter from Marcy is not. I place my integrity before any amount of commas, not everybody does so I cant be mad if Jay Z doesn’t wanna end his business relationship with Barneys; I would. The movie ’12 Years A Slave’ grants alotta clarity on the various flawed mentalities of our people.

      • SBRon

        Good argument…

      • pauleyPee

While I tend to agree with both sides to a degree, does a business venture by a black man with a former slave-investing corporation not mark a day that the black man has totally turned old conventions on their head? Just food for thought. Also, if every black man was required to no longer patronize products, corporations, or people that have some abstract tie to an issue like slavery, it would be a very small world for said businessman – even smaller if he’s a top businessman… That would be a slavery unto itself. And that’s assuming that said businessman is even aware of the unappealing ties the corporation may have to an issue like slavery… It’s assuming that said business man’s contact in the corporation is not black himself! Which would represent a double irony and triumph! The point is that people think too small about these sorts of issues. I mean, where does it stop? Should we not also boycott businesses that were/are anti-gay, anti-jewish, anti-muslim – depending on what side of the spectrum we arbitrarily find ourselves? Should we draw the same line in our personal lives even when practicality requires that we mingle with those from the “other side”? I mean, where does it stop? To me, what critics want sounds like re-segregation! And in fact, over the years, that’s exactly what has happened… We’ve bounced between periods of pro-segregation and anti-segregation. But I digress… Jay-Z is free to do business with whomever he chooses… It’s not like he’s doing a venture with the Grand Wizard of the KKK himself. Sheesh. Lay off.

      • Judah Nazayar

face it bro.. Jay Z SOLD THE KFCU OUT!! HEAVY!!
AND B4 THE JAY Z MEAT JOCKEYS..PISS UP THEIR JIGGA UNDEROOS….
GIMME SUM QUOTABLES FROM BLUEPRINT 3…..
MAGNA CARTA..KINGDOM COME..AMERICAN GANGSTER ALBUM? thats four albums to choose hot lines from….okay…Just give me 3 hot lines….. HOT LINES= u know wut i mean

    • bornking7a

@SHAD THE POINT IS HOLD THE PEOPLE WHO DID WRONG RESPONSIBLE. IT IS NOT LOGICAL TO HOLD JAY Z RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE HE’S BLACK? BARNEYS DON’T WANT JAY Z IN THEIR STORE EITHER. YOU SEE HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT BLACKS SHOPPING IN THEIR STORE? THAT FEELING IS MAGNIFIED A THOUSAND FOLD ABOUT A BLACKMAN WHO JUST SECURED A DEAL TO PUT HIS PRODUCTS IN BARNEYS. HERES WHY BECAUSE WHITE DOLLARS WILL BE GOING INTO BLACK HANDS. TO THEM JAY IS A BIGGER THREAT THAN THE KID WHO BOUGHT A FERRAGAMO BELT BUT THEY COULDN’T STOP HIM FROM GETTING INTO BARNEYS. SO THEY USE RACISM AGAINST ONE BLACKMAN TO LET US KNOW HOW JAY IS ABOUT TO PUT HIS PRODUCTS IN THEIR STORE. THEY LINKED THE TWO STORIES TOGETHER FOR A REASON. THEY WANT BLACKS TO DO WHAT THEY COULDN’T, WHICH IS TO FORCE JAY TO PULL HIS PRODUCTS OUT OF BARNEYS. THAT’S THE REAL GOAL OF THIS WHOLE STORY. THE FEAR OF WHITE DOLLARS GOING TO A BLACK HAND. YOU CANT SEE WHAT I CAN SEE! #THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.

  • Brooklyn Stoop

Jay got dissed for his association with Barclay……..Barclay had involvement in slavery. How many ppl dissing jay is going to not visit the Barclay center?

    • Super_Hero

Jay let Bloomberg and Ratner (original majority owner) use him and his .067% of Nets as the face of the Nets so they can kick people out their homes and businesses to build a stadium. Jay being Mr. Brooklyn meant it was good for Brooklyn.

      • Brooklyn Stoop

eh…………. was it they homes or was they renting?
the thing about NY (and america as a whole), NY is a BIG illusion and it makes NYers feel like they have way more then what they really have in reality.
i try and get my cousins to come down to atlanta and get these cheap houses they have out here and all they keep asking is if they gonna get paid the same as if they was in NY. which is no.

        but the illusion is this
stay in NY and get paid alot and have nothing
or come down south and get paid a little but have more to show

  • iamwhoiam

People use this illuminati stuff to loosely, now every rapper with acouple coma’s in the bank is illuminati. Alot of people sayin that ish don’t even know the definition of illuminati! Most of them are the “crabs” at the bottom of the barrel. They don’t understand what hard work and a strong business mind can accomplish for anybody, black or white. It automatically has to be the big bad illuminati…IGNORANT!!! Go look for big foot or something. I heard heard he’s illuminati too. LoL!

    • Judah Nazayar

fool. all u gotta do to see who the illuminati is ..is look for banking and corporations/ military. Its obvious sum ppl are allergic to reading..becuz George Washington himself…warned about the Illuminati in his letters to America in his day. JFK also warned about it. But u know… ppl..im mean.. sheeple.. actually think becuz they dont believe sumn its not real.. all the while America and the other nations are ..getting jacked up/. hell.. white americans women are getting choked out and shot by police. U think theirs no illuminati scooter?

      • iamwhoiam

I’m no fool and I read. I’m just sayin, Jay Z , Beyonce and, they’re infant daughter are a part of the illuminati??? Oh yea and Oprah. The illuminati is nothing more than a conversation piece. Ppl love a good conspiracy theory. Banks and big corporations been corrupt and greedy. I agree there’s foul shit goin on in the world especially in our country but , the illuminati….c’mon man!!! Look up the definition and tell me u think it exists in this day and age aaaand all the ppl that are said to be a part of it celebrities especially. Maybe waaaay back when but, not today. Ppl should focus on the valid issues goin on today that been exposed with hard facts and not distracted with urban myths and speculation.

      • SBRon

True dat! But today, illuminati = The Bilderberg Group & we’d be hard-pressed to find some rapper sittin’ in on THOSE meetings!!
And maybe, just maybe many of these anti-Jay people on this thread can’t stand the fact this dude started dirt poor in the projects? Maybe there’s a bunch of “failed hustlas” who feel more & more inadequate with each & every successful move he makes? Just a thought because it’s hard to fathom the level of vitriol aimed at ONE dude…?!?

  • TheFlyHobo

I think there are good arguments for both sides. To me, though, it feels like people are looking at Jay because, like Jon said, he’s been vocal about boycotting before. So I think he might be (rightly or wrongly) looked at to say something about it this time as well.

  • Gotcha

Disrespectful – no, I say accountability. Walk the Talk!

i hear you but @ the sametime are your memories forming / creating present day realities that dont exist ???? i mean what are we here for ?? to complain for ever even when the tables turn ?? if i shoot my brother in the leg, should he resent me forever ?? even if its years later i have begged for his forgiveness and his leg healed back 100% …. should he no longer hang around me nor trust …?? its been 10 years since that incident and ive done nothing but treat him like a brother with love and care since i last messed up … should he continue to live in fear ?? move like every potential thing i do is a conspiracy ? should he spend his life trying to figure me out ? or should he take this time to build his own ?? take this time to build his legacy cause its obvious i want to do nothing but see him do good ?? ……………………. think about it ………………………………………………..

Some people operate on a different wavelength…there is a certain point where rich becomes colorless and solely about your ethnicity in the form of decimal banking points. I’m done discussing this, we all know what it is…those defending it know what it is…those fighting it know what it is. When folks put someone in a position of doing the right thing or getting money and they make their choice, now you know exactly who/what you are f/king with. Bet your life that if Jay’s mom herself had been the victim in this equation he’d be singing a different story tho.

the proceeds from the sales of his merchandise goes to The Shawn Carter Foundation. This scholarship program helps college students who are financially underpriviledged who desire a higher education. Single mothers under 25, high school seniors, previously incarcerted persons under 25, even students who are already in college who need a few dollars outside of what grants/ financial aid they may already recieve. Jay Z knows what he is doing. Pull out of this deal and disappoint the kids/future. Keep doing what you do Hov
