Chief Keef and 50 Cent

50 Cent Explains Why Chief Keef May Have Never Listened To His Advice

(AllHipHop News) Chief Keef once harmonized “I can’t control my n*ggas and my n*ggas can’t control me” on Kanye West’s “Hold My Liquor”. During 50 Cent’s interview for SiriusXM’s Town Hall series this past Monday (March 17th), 50 disagreed with Keef’s lyric when explaining how outside influences may have influeceed Keef to disregard 50’s advice.

Back in September of 2012, 50 Cent informed CBS Radio’s V103 host Ryan Cameron that “without the success I had, my son could have potentially been Chief Keef.”In his interview for Town Hall, 50 says that he truly felt Chief Keef was the next 50 Cent due to his circumstances and image:

The aggression level matched that of the actual environment he was from. Chicago. When you see the guy make a music video and it’s like 15 guys in the actual living room. It’s because they’re protecting him from the other 15 guys in the other living room that’s four or five blocks down.

Two months after that interview in 2012, 50 berated Chief Keef on his personal Twitter account for not showing up to his own video shoot for “Hate  Being Sober” which featured 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa. In July of 2013, 50 informed DJ Jenny Boom Boom that Keef “didn’t listen” to the advice he gave him and during his Town Hall interview on, he gave a theory as to why Keef was dismissive:

The things I said to him could easily be countered by someone saying ‘you hot. Why you think 50 talking to you? You got 50 Cent talking to you, fool. You hot. He ain’t hot. HE need YOU’

50 Cent’s Town Hall interview will premiere on SiriusXM’s satellite radio station,  website and app on March 31st.

Now I do understand you can’t listen to everything everyone tells you, and that goes for people older than you who are not always in a position to give you advice because their own life or worth is fornicated. BUT, 50 is an extremely successful business man who has did well in music and other ventures. If any of this is true, why not listen to his advice, learn from him and grow? Then establish and build relationships based on what you learned from him. Everyone needs a mentor, IJS!

    • ghettogov

We talking about chief keef I’m really not the least bit surprised the kids got a whole lot of growing up to do

    • BlaqCeeza

      I think you meant fabricated.

  • MrNoName2K

nah the nigga was obviously feeling himself a little too much.. thats all it was. Young and dumb..

    • InTheNightKitchen

Sign of the co. That’s what it looked like and is looking like. But 50 moving hard with this PR he snuffed Boosies people out the way lol

  • ghettogov

Fifty cent is one of those artists who definitely hurts hip hop more than he helps it because it’s never about the music with this guy. He was a decent songwriter at one point but always a well below average lyricist. From the beginning with how to rob it was always a gimmick with this dude. Then the ja rule beef…after that fat joe and jada. Then he pulls the Kanye publicity stunt saying he would retire if he was outsold. Most of the world wished he would stop then. That was the last time he had a hit was actually 7 years ago and even longer since he actually spit a dope verse imo. Now he finally gets off interscope and i was actually rooting for the guy but instead of concentration on making music that is actually good one of the first things he starts doing is taking shots at Steve stoute diddy and Rick ross in instagram pictures and talking about slapping jimmy henchmens son again. This guy has to be one of the luckiest rappers of all time to still have anything close to a fan base I thought this dude was at least real but i dunno anymore.

    • Live Well

I think you’re being a little hard on 50 and a little incomplete. How to Rob was a response to being blackballed. Ja Rule was not a rap beef. Fat Joe and Jada was just collateral damage. The Kanye thing was a mutual marketing tactic to drop on the same day so both would do #’s, Kanye just let 50 play the bully. Steve Stout started in on him out of nowhere at all and so did Rick Ross originally. My point is, 50 responds to what’s there for him. If anything, his biggest weakness is he is doesn’t avoid confrontation. He’s not in some room by himself thinking about what new drama he can get going to be hot. You don’t accumulate a net worth of $250M by being petty or by getting lucky.

      • ghettogov

How ja rule wasnt a rap beef? I understand they had history but launching a steady campaign of diss records constitutes a rap beef in my opinion. What about how 50 tryna start beefing with Jay on so disrespectful but he won’t give him the time of day. I agree with most of the points you made but 50 cent will be more known for his rap beefs than he will be remembered for his music dude was never hot just relevant.

      • Live Well

I hear you. At times he can become a caricature of himself and he has bet his career on being a polarizing figure in the culture. Over time people grew tired of his antics. But, I totally disagree that his music wasn’t hot. He was the hottest thing on deck in NY before he got shot so nobody out there was surprised by his explosion His mix tape run hasn’t been topped yet and we all know what his debut album did.

      • ghettogov

Steve stoute just said fifty wasnt influential anymore and fifty calls him gay..lol mad childish I understand him defending himself but what does the picture have to do with what stoute said? Why did he put that picture of puff and ross up? What puff done to fif?

      • Live Well

Nah, Stout went out his way to diss 50. He was supposed to be promoting his documentary on VH1 and brought 50 up on his own. I agree, he OD’d with the pictures.

he is lucky he made that 100 mil of vitamin water otherwise he would be a broke rapper

It kills me when you guys say he would be broke if it wasn’t
for the vitamin water deal. Have you ever heard of 50 spending money recklessly like most of your favorite rappers…no!

First off, he made 80 million dollars off his deal with Rebook. Second, he had multiple years where he made over 50 million from touring & record sales. Not to mention the deals & investments he has that we don’t know anything about.

Then you guys want to say, well he wasn’t on the Forbes list last year. Maybe so, how bout all the other years he did make it.

You guys do understand that those lists are for
that year, but not total accumulated wealth. LOl

If I made over 400 Million dollars within the past 5 years & I make
the Forbes list those years, but the following year I don’t make the list, does that mean I’m broke…No! Lol

Keeping those things in mind, how can you 50 haters say he
would be broke if he didn’t have the vitamin water deal? Totally ridiculous!

then u should go suck his dick since you ridin it, check forbes u fool, he has made 2 mil above the 100 mil, im gald the nigga rich but that deal did it

      • Live Well

That’s not luck, bruh, that’s vision and risk. He had the foresight to buy into that company at the ground floor, then the hustle to blow it up with his own wave, the the smarts to sell it at it’s peak. Plus, no rappers were selling healthy lifestyle product at that time.

  • Live Well

I don’t know how anybody could dismiss a cat who’s worth a quarter of a billion dollars. That cat is hot for life.

    • ghettogov

One business deal got him a great deal of that money and I’m sure he had advisors telling him to invest…no hate I hope he makes some dope music and I’m looking forward to hearing his collab with Jada and with Styles especially after the way the bodied fif….

      • Live Well

He’s made a lot more than one. The Reebok deal comes to mind but that’s neither here nor there. I personally love the free joints he’s given away over the last 3-4 years. The War Angel, The Big 10, and The Lost Tape are just a few. Yeah, and Jada was way out his league as an emcee.

    • Casor_G

Rich doesn’t make you anything but rich.

      • Live Well

When you’re a self made black man under the age of 40, you’re a lot more than just rich. You have the rare combination of youth, experience, and prosperity. We should salute that man because he earned every dollar.

      In Forbes 2013 list: Diddy 580M, Jay 475M, Dr Dre 350M, Birdman 150M, 50 Cent 125M.

The funny thing is that the stans of Young Money and 50 Cent are those who love the most bragging about money, when in all the serious lists (not fantasies bullshit lists made up by ghetto dick suckers) they are always under 200M.

Some niggas think money is easy to earn. You have to pay tax, employees etc… you can lose money in some investments like 50 Cent, he lost money on stock market, he also lost money on Tyson house… Even Diddy who is smart despite the fact he earns so much money with Ciroc can lose some money on his AquaHydrate water.

People who are really rich don’t brag so much about their money Michael Jordan 600M-650M, Magic Johnson 500M, Tiger Woods 500M, Mariah Carey 500M, Beyoncé 350-400M.

      • Live Well

I’ve seen as much as 260M but I’ll defer to you on this. Still, when you got 125M, you got a TON of money. The point is still the same; if you’ve made that kind of money in Hip Hop, you’re forever relevant.

  • Brindle

my problem with this is that Keef sucks as an artist, no talent, F*ck where he’s from and what he represents if it aint represented with talent. Until 50 recognizes these things he’ll always be dealing with non-talented artist and writing lazy rhymes… I like 50 but don’t forget this is not just entertainment, its a competitive art…

My man you just proved my point. If his “Net” is 250, what do you think his gross was. Lol

      • Gary Woodln

Gross and net are two separate things and net worth is entirely a separate thing. Gross is what you made before before any taxes are deducted or liabilities are covered and what you would have left accumulating all the years 50 cent earned would be his net worth at 250 million gross doesnt matter because it’s not profit.

    • Low Down

The only point that needs to be raised is that he is a true diversified success!!!

  • Low Down

There ain’t nothing like being washed up with money. Half you fools think you can still get rich selling records. It’s called diversifying. That’s what 50 does. It’s called raising up out the hood. I could picture some of you still trying to hang in the hood to sell records in $1000 car and 10,000 rims. It’s bigger than rap. 50 will truly be the subject of our grand children’s black history report one day. # More Than A Rapper

    • Live Well

Folks talkin out both sides of they mouth. They salute a lame because he has some hustle and a few radio spins but then diss a thorough alpha hustler who sold over 30 million records. Don’t make no sense.

  • Live Well

Most people who call 50 irrelevant, define relevance by how many people care about you. It seems to me that any article with “50 Cent” in the headline has more comments than any other post on the whole damn site. So by their own definition, 50 Cent is probably one of the top 4-5 most relevant artists in Hip Hop. And if we’re talking about career success, entrepreneurship, or brand extension, he is the definition of relevant. When that gets put out there they say, “he hasn’t had a hit since 2007” (which isn’t true since Baby by Me was #1), so he’s irrelevant. So, I guess Andre 3000 is irrelevant too then huh? He hasn’t had a hit since 2004. It’s like people change the definition of a word just to drive home their point.

    • Low Down

That was right on the money Live Well. Supply and demand.

      • Live Well

If you OWN 10% of a company and that company is sold for $4.1 BILLION. That means you left with $410 mil. Its simple mathematics. Part of the deal was he couldnt speak on it. But you do the math.$410 mil NOT including any money made from music, Reebok,SMS, movies or a energy drink. Think about it.

      • Thanx Nerve

I know all that, you can google it in the end 50 made 100M on the vitamin water deal.
