Rap-A-Lot CEO J. Prince did more than just accept his award when he was honored for his local contributions at the 2016 Go DJ Awards in Houston.
Prince also took a moment to take a shot at Birdman as he referenced Birdman’s popular phrase about putting respect on one’s name.
J. Prince expressed that he refused to beg anyone to put respect on his name, and he feels that some people need to put some respect on their own names.
“Lot of people look hungry out there and I’m hungry up here. It’s a beautiful thing. Let’s just respect it. We don’t want to go around beg nobody to put respect on our name. We not them kind of people. We put respect on our own name therefore we ain’t got to do no plea bargain to put respect on our names. Just know that and represent that,” said J. Prince.
Remember J. Prince’s son Jas Prince sued Cash Money for $11 million dollars after Cash Money failed to pay him royalties after he brought Drake to their label.
It has been reported that Cash Money and Jas Prince reached a settlement, but perhaps Papa Prince still doesn’t respect Birdman either way.
