I had the good fortune to see DMX live last year at a club here in Miami. Because of my relationship with the club's owner, we actually got a chance to interact with DMX's people before he actually arrived (he was more than three hours late, and didn't actually begin his set until well after 3 am).
I've got to say, unfortunately, that DMX's inner circle is a mob of yes men and enablers, none of whom appear to have the courage, nor the authority and/or respect to tell him his shit stinks. I recall even telling the tour DJ that X's last weed plate needed to come strong so that X could get back on top. The dude replied- oblivious to any semblance of reality- that they were "already on top".
I'm a big fan of yours, Earl. We all go through our little thing in life, and we don't get over it until it's time. I'ma pray for you, dog, and I'll be here, waiting to bump your shit, when you make it through to the other side.  

Right now this dude needs to be sentenced to go to a drug rehab center. No matter how many interventions or any other types of help people try to provide dude isn't going to get it. The only way he's going to change is when he's forced to sit down and get the treatment he needs. If Lawrence Taylor got clean there's still hope for X, but he needs to get help before it's too late.
