(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop is finally going to have an official home to celebrate its history and contributions to culture. The Hip-Hop Hall Of Fame Museum is looking to open its doors in 2017. Over half of the Harlem, New York site’s $80 million price tag has already been collected, but organizers are asking the general public to help raise $1 million through a crowdsourcing campaign.

The description for the “Harlem Satellite Hip Hop Museum and Youth Media Education Academy” Indiegogo page reads:
To the Fans of Hip Hop Culture, Good Music, Art, Education, and Positive Youth Programs… Are you ready for The Hip Hop Museum? Do you believe we need a Hip Hop Hall of Fame + Museum? This is your chance to make a difference and bring the dream to reality! Lets build it today, together!
So far, $500,346 of the $1 million goal has been raised. There are 60 days left for interested parties to contribute to the campaign. Perks are available for donations starting at just $1. Contributors can receive rewards such as a thank you tweet, lifetime passes to the museum, tickets to the fundraiser concert, and tickets to the Hall Of Fame Awards TV Show or Festival.
