Jones later confirmed the reunion and added that fellow Diplomat member Freekey Zekey will also be part of the comeback. The Dips have not released an official project since 2007’s More Than Music Vol. 2. The group’s first album Diplomatic Immunity went platinum in 2003.

Better off capitalizin on the legacy they built with Dipset instead of all these wack solo careers!

Legendary Group! Not on some Wu level of course, but legendary still… and I’m not their biggest fan. I know they have fans that love’em just like I love the WU!

    Positive Energy Always Correct Errors!

If the reunion is made with heart and positive vibes, then the error of their solo careers can be corrected!

This is cool news…I just hope they stay as close to the old sound as possible…not saying they need all heatmakerz and just blaze beats but something similar would be good…cam is the only one who style ain’t changed much..Jones and Santana have been heavily influenced by the current wackness out that last Juelz mixtape was so disappointing..hope they come with some fire

  3. tra mo

Lyrically Jim Jones garbage Juelz pump fake to much but got talent and killa still that nigga so it could work but club tours? And wtf does freekey do i hope they go back to diplomatic immunity sound

The Dipset performance at 2003 Source awards was Epic. They had their time and who am I to say they should give it up but I don’t see this reviving their popularity. The WuTang still get by because of massive crossover appeal. Dipset doesn’t have the numbers to support nostalgia. Crossover acts seem to have the longest shelf life. Niche acts like Dipset only get one shot and they had theirs already.

Wu might have crossed over but it was never intended… it just happened.

The appeal was just too strong, even with people that don’t fcuk wit rap.

What I’m tryin to say is that they ain’t no sellouts…

I’m watching this boring french movie yesterday “16 ans ou presque”… and the kid in the movie has this dope Wu-Tang Clan t-shirt on… BEST PART OF THE MOVIE!!!!

      • Montezuma1

Never accused Wu of selling out. Just pointing out the difference between old acts that still win and those that won’t. WU-TANG Forever!!!

    • Lou Velazquez

who cares about there popularity this is for there hardcore fans its a good thing why do people always try to make it about selling records etc its about the music too smh!

      • Montezuma1

Because it’s a “BUSINESS?” Do you think they’re reuniting for the love of Hip Hop? lol

    • Ipullcards

That’s not true. They have cross over appeal. Come on they had every slum n the world wearing pink facts! Range Rover stock when up enough to sell the company and execs retired! They had the same affect. And also the same downfall and issues! Hard to keep more than 2 men on the same page for that long. Look at outkast?

      • IceBergSlim

Slim I do not know about you Cam cool and all only the fun boys was rocking that Pink BS..as fast he tried to push it in it went out. DIPSET COME ON LETS KEEP IT 100 THEY DIDN’T PUT OUT ANY CLASSICS

      • Ipullcards

Bro what are u saying? Diplomatic Immunity 1 & 2 were classics! Juelz first album was a classic.. If you’re not a fan cool, but there are facts.. And I’m not a fan like that.

    • Ipullcards

No I disagree. It’s a new day and age. Gunit changed their production sound and I think it’s ok. It could be better but I don’t wanna hear music from 10 years ago. I wanna hear my fav artitsts from 10 years ago with new music

      • NCcatsBALLhard

But no one really supported them when they came with all that new production. They created a sound…Sorta like an ambience for Harlem.

You’d rather hear Dip Set on some Mike Will Made It beats?

      • Ipullcards

Good point.. That sound was for that time and place. HARLEM wouldn’t resemble that sound these days given gentrification the whole Hiphop sound has changed anyway. So it would be out of place and just nostalgic if they came with the exact same sound. Not Mike will made it. But no Id is still producing they could of gotten 9th wonder whom ever . They’re plenty of new & old relevant producers with more relevant sounding production. They have options. This isn’t 2001

      • NCcatsBALLhard

Very true. To me its almost like a Wu album with non RZA beats. You already know its not gonna give you the same feeling and vibe as the older albums. I understand staying with the times but I also understand not fixing something that isn’t broke. 3-6 Heatmakerz tracks plus a track from NYC’s elite is only right in my opinion.

      • Ipullcards

I feel you. It would make it more convincing if heat makerz were still making heat on a national level still

    • Ryan Cole

Word. When they stopped using Heatmakerz, the feel of the music wasn’t the same. The worst of it was probably all but about four songs on Cam’s Crime Pays.

  5. Black Jay Supreme

I don’t know how to feel about this one. The saying is “Your crew is only as strong as your weakest member.” Okay so what should I feel about the Dipset after seeing how each of them basically flat lined after separating? Cam is talking about retirement and was off selling capes and sh*t. Jim Jones was and will always be lyrically anemic. And Juelz lives with chick problems. Now that they’re pulling a Voltron thing would I cop it? Judging off what’s been going on with them my answer has to be…………. Nope.

    • Ipullcards

Some pimps have chick problems lol. Jim jones had a number one single after the split (ballin) and a gold album. Julez could of kept Warmer but I can’t feel my face didn’t go anywhere since baby was hoarding Wayne’s good songs for himself lol. I’m not a dipset fan as much as im a fan of them individually. But you have a point they did fall off after the split. But they were still relevant. Cam with his small pool videos lmao.. I’m just trying to be fair n not sound like a hater

  6. i'mreloaded!

Liked a few of their songs but was never that big of a fan. Cool they worked out everythang. Eh…..I guess it’s good for the hardcore fans. Don’t know how their sound would work these days since the producers of today wouldn’t really fit their style and their old formula would sound dated compared to today’s $hit.

  7. WORLD DOMINATOR

WHO CARES?#@!? The ‘Fake Rick Ross’, ‘meek rappers’ & Chief F*ck Up already KILLED ‘Hip Hop’……. DIPSH*T ain’t gonna matter! FREE is too much to ‘spend’ on these idiots@!

  8. Ryan Cole

I’d be hyped if they got Heatmakerz back, and JR, Hell Rell, and 40 Cal were on board, or at the least, Jones and Juelz don’t rap and just do hooks and talk shit at the end of songs.

    • WaterMELON_RANGER_CHRI$$$

Nah the dance craze was the downfall…. Yeah they bars was suspect at times but they always on the solo tip but ad a whole them boys had it all in 1 package

      Cam was a fashion statement
      Freely Seek was the Goon
Jim was still growing but catchy
And Juelz had bars (there was a time when he was peaking on the same level as Wayne)

  9. Celz

No Max B aka Biggaveli aka The wave = no spins from this nicca.. Period.. Might check out the hottest song if it makes some noise.. But that’s doubtful…

  10. ShortDogg

Who really cares? Especially about Jim Jones… Dude is not even a rapper. Cam use to be man back in the day until he put those clowns on. A bunch of lazy rappers!
