(AllHipHop News) Mac Miller stopped by The Breakfast Club this week, and the Warner Bros Records signee was asked about the criticism of White rappers such as Macklemore and Iggy Azalea. Miller seemed to connect some Hip Hop fans’ opinions on Caucasian rappers to racially sensitive events that have taken place in the country over the last year.

“It’s a touchy subject. Especially with everything else going on in the world,” expressed Miller. “White rappers don’t look like the tightest people when there’s all these horrible things going on in the world. It doesn’t look tight.”
Iggy has constantly been hit with claims she is appropriating Black culture. Macklemore caught heat for The Heist winning the Best Rap Album Grammy award over Kendrick Lamar’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, but the Seattle-based rhymer was very outspoken about supporting the protests against police brutality.
Miller also addressed whether he feels the need to speak on injustices facing African-Americans. He admits he was hesitant earlier in his career but now believes race should not be a taboo subject.
“Definitely, with certain things,” said Miller on talking about social issues. “Up until now, I didn’t really speak on race. I didn’t really speak on these issues, because my whole idea was – I was probably just scared of it really – but my whole idea was, ‘I just want to make music’.”
The Pittsburgh representative added, “You can’t be uncomfortable to talk about it.”
