Pharrell Williams’ Childhood Story To Be Made Into ‘Atlantis’ Musical On Fox

THE RECORD PRODUCER’S EARLY LIFE IN VA SERVES AS INSPIRATION FOR THE PROJECT

(AllHipHop News) Fox is about to add another music-centered program to its television lineup.

After American Idol, Glee, Empire, and Star, the network is set to air Atlantis.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is inspired by record producer Pharrell Williams’ childhood in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Atlantis is being described as a “Romeo and Juliet style story.”

Tony winner Michael Mayer (Flicka, Smash) is attached as a director with Martin Hynes (Toy Story 4, Curious George) on board as a writer.

Pharrell has been making moves into the movie/television realm over the last few years.

The 10-time Grammy winner and 2-time Oscar nominee appeared as a coach on the music competition TV show The Voice.

Pharrell is also listed as a producer for the films Dope, Hidden Figures, and Roxanne Roxanne.
