Kanye West Showing Up To Diddy Trial Could Backfire—According To Gene Deal

Kanye West and Diddy

Gene Deal criticized Kanye West’s courthouse appearance at Diddy’s trial as “stupid” and warned it could damage his legal defense.

Kanye West made headlines Thursday (June 12) after arriving at Diddy’s federal sex trafficking trial in Manhattan, a move that Gene Deal says could do more harm than good.

West, dressed in head-to-toe white with sunglasses, pulled up in a Maybach and was greeted by Christian “King” Combs outside the courthouse.

The two walked in together, with West confirming to reporters he was there to support Diddy by nodding and saying “yes.” Despite the showy entrance, West wasn’t allowed into the main courtroom.

Instead, he was directed to an overflow room, where he briefly watched the proceedings on a monitor. He left the courthouse after about 40 minutes, drawing attention from media and bystanders.

Deal, Diddy’s ex-bodyguard, didn’t hold back when reacting to West’s appearance. In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, he called the move hypocritical and damaging.

“This is the same guy that got on Drink Champs about a year or so ago before Diddy was arrested, talking about Diddy was a fag. You understand? ‘F Diddy’ and all this other stuff like that. And then he talked all kind of crazy s### about Diddy,” Gene Deal said. “So Kanye is on his s###.”

Gene Deal was referring to the now-infamous Drink Champs interview in which Kanye West accused the disgraced Bad Boy mogul of cooperating with law enforcement.

“You did a deal you f###### fed,” Kanye West said during the interview “I don’t got no celebrity friends… none of these n#####, all you fake hard n#####, f### you.”

He also claimed Diddy was involved in blackmail and warned people not to trust him. Gene Deal argued that West’s presence at the trial could backfire, especially given his controversial history of sexism and racism.

“Having Kanye support you? I don’t even think that’s a good thing. It’s stupid,” Gene Deal said. “That would be one of the last persons that I would have coming up there to support me, knowing his relationship with the Jewish population.”
