Donald Trump Says Elon Musk Gone “Off The Rails” With New Political Party

Donald Trump slammed Elon Musk as a “train wreck” and said third parties only cause “chaos” after Musk launched his new America Party.

Donald Trump torched Elon Musk on Sunday night (July 6), calling him a “train wreck” and declaring he’s gone “completely off the rails” after Musk unveiled his new political venture, the America Party, aimed at disrupting the traditional two-party system.

In a scathing Truth Social post, Trump dismissed Musk’s third-party ambitions as “ridiculous” and warned that such efforts only bring “confusion” to the country’s political structure.

“They have never succeeded in the United States,” Trump wrote, doubling down on his belief that the U.S. system isn’t built to support more than two major parties.

“I think it’s ridiculous to start a third party,” Trump told reporters Sunday. “We have a tremendous success with the Republican Party. The Democrats have lost their way, but it’s always been a two-party system, and I think starting a third party just adds to confusion.”

Trump didn’t hold back, saying he was “saddened” by Musk’s recent moves and accusing him of creating “complete and total disruption and chaos.”

Donald Trump & Elon Musk Clash Over “Big Beautiful Bill”

Musk, once a close ally of Trump and former head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), announced the launch of the America Party last week, positioning it as an alternative to both Republicans and Democrats. The move marked a dramatic escalation in the ongoing feud between the two high-profile figures.

Their relationship began to unravel earlier this year after Elon Musk criticized Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which scrapped electric vehicle incentives—a policy Musk strongly opposed.

Trump fired back by threatening to cut federal contracts and subsidies for Musk’s companies, including Tesla and SpaceX.

The back-and-forth quickly turned personal. Musk took jabs on social media and pledged to back primary challengers against Trump-aligned Republicans. Trump, in turn, floated the idea of deporting Musk despite his long-standing U.S. residency.

The rift has since become a public spectacle, with both men trading insults and political threats, adding another layer of tension to an already fractured conservative movement.
