Houston came out to support buzzing West Coast artist Nipsey Hussle at his show at Warehouse Live less than a week ago.
Up-and-coming local artists Marcus Manchild [BGA], Delo [BGA], Doughbeezy, and Propain [BGA] got the audience jumping, and brought J-Dawg and Slim Thug out for their set. Freddie Gibbs [BGA] had a dope set, smokin’ with his fans, and Gangsta Gibbs also brought Houston legend Bun B and Mo City Don, Z-Ro to the stage. After that hot set, the crowd was hype and ready for Nipsey.
The young Los Angeles native hit the stage and welcomed the crowd to The Marathon. Hussle opened with “Love” and “Keys To The City”, then followed up with TMC hits, “Fly Crippin”, “Forever On Some Fly Sh*t” and “Rose Cliquot”. The crowd-pleaser let his fans choose what they wanted to hear, and turned up to “I Need That” and “Young Rich and Famous” at the audience’s request.
Houston rocked the marathon with Nipsey Hussle in a blur of smoke and bandanas, as they rapped with him word-for-word. This is the artist’s third headliner show in Houston, and the city seems to be supporting his independent movement.
Nipsey is currently on his last leg of the US “X-tra Laps Tour” which will hit Missouri, then head back West to Washington and Oregon. See the list of dates below, along with some photos from the show for you to check out as well, courtesy of Kalele Thumbutu.
