Ice-T Praises “Law & Order” Creator For Firing Writer After Gun Post

(AllHipHop News) Rapper/actor Ice-T has applauded “Law & Order” creator Dick Wolf for taking immediate action to fire a series spin-off writer for threatening violence against looters during protests in Los Angeles.

Craig Gore hit headlines on Monday after he shared a series of controversial posts on Facebook, including a photo of himself carrying a firearm, as a warning to anyone who disobeyed the city’s curfew following violent clashes between demonstrators and police during Black Lives Matter rallies.

“Sunset (Boulevard) is being looted two blocks from me,” he wrote. “You think I won’t light motherf##krs up who are trying to f##k with my property I worked all my life for? Think again.”

Gore had been working on the forthcoming Chris Meloni show, “Law & Order: Organized Crime,” but Wolf condemned his actions and cut all ties with the writer on Tuesday. He was also fired by his Hollywood agency, Paradigm, as a result of the posts.

And Ice-T, who is a series regular on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, is proud to have Wolf as his boss.

“Oh s##t…,” the Hip-Hop veteran tweeted after learning of Gore’s firing. “The Big Boss is cleaning house… RESPECT.”

The protests have continued across the U.S., demanding an end to police brutality and justice for George Floyd, an African-American man who was killed at the hands of a white cop on May 25 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Fox Host Laura Ingraham Is A Hypocrite: Her Opinions On Lebron James Vs. Drew Brees

(AllHipHop News) In another example of how Black Lives Really Don’t Matter, talk show host Laura Ingraham from Fox News celebrated NFL football player Drew Brees for his commentary on players kneeling during the national anthem, calling the backlash towards him as being “Stalinist.”

She stated that his voice was valuable because he was a “citizen” with a voice.

However, this is a shift in tone. Just a few years ago, she tried to check LeBron James for his remarks on political issues and opinions on race. In 2018, she told the NBA All-Star to “shut up and dribble.” She snapped on her show that James and other Black athletes should “keep the political comments to yourselves.”

LeBron called out Ingraham for her hypocrisy.

Drew Brees came under fire for saying that he will never support anyone not standing for the national anthem.

After being wet-noodled regarding Colin Kaepernick’s choice to kneel and the context of his being blackballed from the NFL —noting that the act of kneeling is a recognized symbol of respect for those who had fallen actually done in the military — he took to social media to apologize for being insensitive.

“I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community, and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused,” Drew Brees wrote.

“In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country. They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character.”

This is where he said that he stood, laying out a litany of his personal beliefs about who he is:

“I stand with the black community in the fight against systemic racial injustice and police brutality and support the creation of real policy change that will make a difference.

I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today.

I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community.

I recognize that I am part of the solution and can be a leader for the black community in this movement.

I will never know what it’s like to be a black man or raise black children in America but I will work every day to put myself in those shoes and fight for what is right.

I have ALWAYS been an ally, never an enemy. “

The apology was posted on his Instagram.

EXCLUSIVE: Read Lil Meech’s Letter Asking Court To Free Big Meech

(AllHipHop News) The son of BMF co-founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory has stepped up to the plate in an attempt to secure his dad’s freedom.

Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. reportedly has a role playing his father in 50 Cent’s upcoming dramatization of BMF story for Starz.

Lil Meech wrote a letter to court as a judge deliberates arguments in Big Meech’s second attempt to be released from Sheridan FDI in Oregon.

“My dad was incarcerated when I was 5-years-old. He’s always helping me the best way he can through prison,” Lil Meech said in his letter. “He’s been there for me every step of my childhood except physically he’s not here. He always preaches to me about how he wants me to grow up to be someone very successful who graduated college with a 3.0 or higher.”

According to Lil Meech, in addition to rapping, he is working hard towards earning a degree in his quest to become a criminal attorney, and it’s all due to his father’s advice.

“When I started taking pre-law classes in high school he told me I should take it serious, if I like it and maybe go to college for law school. I began to like pre-law and decided I would go to college to be a criminal attorney,” Lil Meech wrote. “I love the West Coast so my father told me to apply to UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada. I applied and got accepted. I’ve been working towards my degree ever since. My dad always encourages me and tells me to work harder so I can be the best I could be at my career.”

Big Meech is serving a 30-year prison sentence after a 2007 conviction for running a Continuing Criminal Enterprise (CCE) and laundering over $250 million in profits.

Unfortunately, Big Meech lost his first attempt, after a judge denied the 51-year-old’s request for compassionate release due to his deteriorating health.

The government also claimed Big Meech would be a flight risk if he were to be released to home confinement 11 years early.

In early May, Big Meech’s brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory scored a release from his prison cell in Kentucky.

Southwest T was sent home six years early, due to his elevated risk of catching the coronavirus in prison.

Big Meech filed a second appeal on May 18, which is currently being considered by a judge in Michigan.

In addition to his son’s passionate plea, Big Meech has already received support for his release from some high-profile players.

Detroit State Representative Jewell Jones, who is also Deputy Democratic Caucus Chair, sent a letter of support for Big Meech, who also has a $45,000 a year job lined up with fashion brand Al-Wissam.

Additionally, Big Meech wants to become an activist upon his release, due to his folk-hero like status in the Hip-Hop community.

Ludacris Calls For Nationwide George Floyd College Scholarship Fund

(AllHipHop News) Kevin Hart and Tyrese Gibson are among the stars leading calls for change after attending George Floyd’s memorial service at North Central University in Minneapolis on Thursday.

The stars received shoutouts for their support as they mourned Floyd’s tragic death alongside his family and friends, after the African-American man was killed at the hands of white police officers in Minneapolis.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, “Jumanji: The Next Level” star Kevin said his presence at the memorial was about “standing with the family.”

“(It’s) just literally letting them know that they’re not alone,” he shared. “We now have a job to do, which is elevate our voices, use our platforms and really push the initiative for change. So for me, it was a no-brainer just to come.

“More importantly, when you just look at what’s going on globally, you look at the many different voices that are now being used and people are lying to themselves.”

He continued: “You make it a point to be a part of a mission that’s for good, and I think that right now it’s not only time for change, but I think that it’s happening. There’s a positive in every negative, and I think there’s gonna be an amazing positive coming out of this.”

Tyrese Gibson, who also attended the service, reflected on how, “unfortunately as a black man, we have been in these rooms way too many times.”

“God has given us all a platform, a stage, an influence… this pain is going to turn into a lot of benefits for a lot of people,” he commented. “I thank God I am here. I just want to send my most sincere prayers. I just hope the family will invite Lord Jesus Christ, because only he can give them a level of security and stand with them. This all hurts.”

At the memorial service, Dr. Scott Hagan, president of North Central University, announced that a scholarship fund had been established in Floyd’s name, and rapper Ludacris admitted he hopes colleges and universities across the country follow suit.

“All universities need to start a George Floyd scholarship for black students,” he said. “That’s exactly what needs to happen.”

Actress Tiffany Haddish was also present at the memorial, and took to social media to say she was “blessed and honored” to have been invited, and urged fans to continue to “fight for our lives.”

Premier: Pharoahe Monch and Styles P “SAME SH!T, DIFFERENT TOILET” (P###. By Marco Polo)

(AllHipHop Music) In light of the recent murders of unarmed Black citizens, legendary wordsmiths, Pharoahe Monch and Styles P decided it’s time to release this song (recorded about a year ago), entitled “SAME SH!T, DIFFERENT TOILET.” The Marco Polo produced track was originally a song Monch was prepping to be a part of a larger project with the producer, but he felt this moment called for an answer from artists particularly from the hip hop community. Styles P, a longtime collaborator with Monch, creating such great material such as “THE LIFE”, “BLACK HAND SIDE”, AND “CHILDREN”, teams back up to create a somber tone regarding the vicious cycle of violence against Black bodies in the United States of America.

Jay-Z Sends Private Jet For Ahmaud Arbery Lawyers

(AllHipHop News) The lawyers for slain black jogger Ahmaud Arbery have saluted Jay-Z for helping them seek justice, revealing he chartered a private jet for them so they could attend a court hearing in Brunswick, Georgia.

S. Lee Merritt took to Instagram on Thursday to confirm the rap mogul and entrepreneur had covered the costs of getting himself and a colleague to court.

“When you absolutely have to be in Court to stand with your client and righteous protestors for justice… Jay Z sends his private jet,” he wrote under an Instagram snap of himself outside the plane.

“Court hearing in Brunswick, Georgia this morning. No flights to take us there last night. @leemerrittesq and I spent hours trying to find flights or cars. At 1am we started losing hope till we got a call from Jay Z’s people at Roc Nation who chartered a flight for us to attend this hearing with the family of Ahmaud Arbery,” civil rights attorney Blerim Elmazi added.

Beyonce Urges Fans To Stay Focused During

(AllHipHop News) Beyonce is urging her fans to remain “aligned and focused” in the fight against racial inequality as Black Lives Matter protests hit global landmarks.

In a post shared on Instagram on Thursday, the “Halo” hitmaker encouraged her followers to continue the call for “real justice” and stand up to be counted in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, which sparked the anti-racism demonstrations.

A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce)

“The world came together for George Floyd,” she wrote alongside an image of protesters in Minnesota, where Floyd was killed by a white police officer. “We know there is a long road ahead. Let’s remain aligned and focused in our call for real justice.”

The star’s comments came hours after three Minneapolis cops were charged with aiding and abetting second degree murder and manslaughter for watching Floyd die. The officer who caused Floyd’s death, by kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes, is now facing a second degree murder charge.

Beyonce also took to the photo sharing site last week (ends29May20) to express her anguish and frustration over Floyd’s death, stating, “We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight. We’re broken and we’re disgusted. We cannot normalize this pain.

“I’m not only speaking to people of color. If you’re white, black, brown, or anything in-between, I’m sure you feel hopeless about the racism going on in America right now.”

The singer’s husband, Jay-Z, has also called for justice after speaking with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on Saturday night.

The rapper took to his company Roc Nation’s Twitter account and called himself a “human, a father and a black man in pain”, adding, “I prevail on every politician, prosecutor and officer in the country to have the courage to do what is right. Have the courage to look at us as humans, dads, brothers, sisters and mothers in pain and look at yourselves.”

His conversation with Walz helped prompt the arrest of the three police officers who stood and watched as Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck, rendering him unconscious. Floyd was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Nappy Roots Returns With New Single “Blind Faith” Featuring Lando Ameen

(AllHipHop News) Veteran southern rap group Nappy Roots let loose a brand new single titled” Blind Faith.” The record arrives in the midst of global anti-racism protests which were sparked by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin killing unarmed African-American citizen George Floyd.

According to Nappy Roots, “Blind Faith” serves as a reflection of having the willingness to overcome obstacles during difficult times. Lando Ameen joins the quartet on the track produced by 88 Blake.

“To have ‘Blind Faith’ according to most means, having complete confidence in someone, or something without any reason to do so; this is where the problem begins,” reads a statement from the Kentucky-bred collective.

It continues, “While there are many solutions to a problem, Nappy Roots make an honest attempt and plea to listen to our inner selves to help find these answers. The world we live in is ever-changing and we must try our best to positively contribute to the human race.”

Nappy Roots is best known for the Hot 100 hits “Awnaw” featuring Jazze Pha and “Po’ Folks” featuring Anthony Hamilton. Both singles lived on 2002’s Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz album.

Kim Kardashian May Move Away From Kanye West To Get Some Space

(AllHipHop Rumors) Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are rich beyond out wildest dreams. I know I am going to die broke and never have the opportunity to experience such opulence! I’ma die a solider!

Anyway, these two have two massive home in both Los Angeles (area) and Wyoming, the ranch. Kim Kardashian has proclaimed that she needs some “space” and time away from her man. They have 4 kids together (I didn’t realize that had that many babies!) and I guess it is driving Kim a bit crazy. I am hearing from mainstream media that there is no “trouble in paradise,” but the constant quarantining has gotten to her.

Imagine being like me: living in a one-bedroom hovel! I am not certain how something cannot be wrong when you want to be in another STATE in another MASSIVE MANSION, away from your loved one[s] in this time of disease and civil unrest. But, that’s me!

I have “spared” Kanye of a number of rumors that I have heard from inside sources recently. It’s just not worth it. I have no true malice.

Also, Kanye West has recently donated quite a lot of money to various causes. He’s giving to a number of Black Lives Matter organizations and related charities. The rapper-billionaire also have ensured that George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter will go to college with a free ride. All of this was to the tune of about $2 million. Good for him!

NFL Players Release Black Lives Matter PSA Directed At The NFL

(AllHipHop News) The National Football League is under intense scrutiny as the world reacts to the brutal murder of George Floyd by then-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. After many cities were consumed with both peaceful protests and violent uprisings, critics insist the NFL’s blackballing of Colin Kaepernick for quietly kneeling during the national anthem has now been proven to be misguided and reprehensible.

Then, before issuing multiple apologies, New Orleans quarterback Dree Brees face widespread backlash this week for still falsely claiming Kaepernick exhibiting his First Amendment rights was disrespectful to the American flag and US military. Buffalo Bills quarterback Jake Fromm also apologized for texting a friend that “only elite white people” should be able to buy firearms.

Yesterday, a group of NFL players released a public service announcement about George Floyd’s death. They mentioned other African-Americans who unjustly died at the hands of law enforcement: Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Eric Garner, Laquan McDonald, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin, Walter Scott, Michael Brown Jr., Samuel Dubose, Frank Smart, Phillip White, and Jordan Baker.

Patrick Mahomes, DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr, Michael Thomas, Ezekiel Elliott, Deshaun Watson, Saquon Barkley, and other athletes also called on the NFL to directly address systemic racism in America. Additionally, the players presented a specific message they would like to hear from the league.

“We will not be silenced. We assert our right to peacefully protest. It shouldn’t take this long to admit,” declared the players. “So, on behalf of the National Football League, this is what we, the players, would like to hear you state: ‘We the National Football League condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people. We the National Football League admit wrong in silencing our players from peacefully protesting. We the National Football League believe Black Lives Matter.’ ”

On Thursday, the NFL’s official social media pages posted about the Black Lives Matter movement. The statement included the league admitting it can do more to fight against systemic racism in the United States, but the NFL did not offer an apology for pushing back against players peacefully kneeling at games.

The NFL stated:

This is a time of self-reflection for all – the NFL is no exception. We stand with the black community because Black Lives Matter. Through Inspire Change, the NFL, Players and our partners have supported programs and initiatives throughout the country to address systemic racism. We will continue using our platform to challenge the injustice around us. To date we have donated $44 million to support hundreds of worthy organizations. This year, we are committing an additional $20 million to these causes and we will accelerate efforts to highlight their critical work. We know that we can and need to do more.

Charlamagne Tha God On Conversation With Rush Limbaugh: Felt Like A Waste Of My Time

(AllHipHop News) When Power 105.1 announced that its flagship morning show would be interviewing Rush Limbaugh, some people questioned if giving the far right-wing radio personality a platform was a good idea, especially as social unrest was spreading across the country. One of The Breakfast Club hosts is now sharing his thoughts about the conversation.

https://twitter.com/breakfastclubam/status/1267485774330712066

Charlamagne Tha God made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and he was asked about the discussion with Limbaugh. The South Carolina native admitted the debate, which also aired on The Rush Limbaugh Show, was probably not worth it.

“What really bothered me about that conversation is, after I left that conversation, I felt like it wasn’t productive. I have no problem talking with people from the other side, I just have to feel that that’s really your truth. I don’t know if I got that from Rush. It felt more like a performance,” Charlamagne explained to Colbert.

He added, “A caller [on his show] asked him, ‘What is white supremacy? What did Charlamagne mean when he said white supremacy, white privilege?’ He broke it down so eloquently. Rush broke it down like he knew exactly what it was. So, I was like, ‘Why was he playing clueless when I was having a conversation?’ It didn’t feel productive. It felt like a waste of my time.”

Ice Cube Blasts Cable News Channels Fox News, CNN & MSNBC

(AllHipHop News) In case people forgot, Ice Cube was a member of “the world’s most dangerous group.” The Los Angeles native spit bars on N.W.A’s classic “F*ck Tha Police” which has seen a resurgence in streams since the start of the latest round of #BlackLivesMatter protests across the country.

Cube also uses his Twitter account to bring awareness to the injustices taking place in America in the wake of George Floyd being murdered by then-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. The entertainer born O’Shea Jackson repeatedly criticizes law enforcement agencies and President Donald Trump. He even slammed the cable news channels.

“FOX, CNN and MSNBC has F*CKED THE UNITED STATE UP. Divide we kneel,” tweeted Ice Cube on Thursday night. The emcee/actor also specifically took aim at Fox News Channel host Laura Ingraham who was exposed for displaying blatant hypocrisy with her opinions about black athletes and white athletes publicly talking about social and political issues.

Ingraham once told African-American NBA players LeBron James and Kevin Durant to “shut up and dribble” when they spoke out against Trump while she recently expressed Caucasian NFL player Drew Brees is “a person” who is allowed to have a political view. Cube retweeted a video of the conservative commentator’s bigotry and added, “She always looks like her perfume smells like bug spray.”

Gabrielle Union Files Discrimination Complaint Against NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’

(AllHipHop News) According to reports, Gabrielle Union officially filed a discrimination complaint against America’s Got Talent producers and the NBC network. She apparently claimed NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy tried to “silence and intimidate” her while she worked on the program.

Union filed the complaint with California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH). The actress previously accused the AGT producers of excusing racially offensive conduct on the set of the show.

A spokesperson for NBCUniversal told Variety that “the allegation that anyone involved in this process threatened Ms. Union is categorically untrue.” The corporation also claimed Union’s concerns were taken seriously and “remains committed to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment where people of all backgrounds are treated with respect.”

After the news of the DFEH complaint broke, Dwyane Wade defended his wife on Twitter. The former NBA All-Star even suggested his family is being harassed because Union was attempting to take action against NBC.

Wade tweeted:

Y’all have deemed her a liar after months of trying to inform y’all of the issues in the work place and also make sure other employees of color that comes after her won’t have the same experiences. Instead of looking thru the lens of someone who has been an advocate for the black and brown community, for women and for rape victims. So instead of making sure your work environment is a a better place for everyone. Y’all have decided that she what? Made it all up because she lost a job? She’s a black women in Hollywood she has lost out on many jobs. When these negotiations started my house started being watched and my family started being followed. My daughter couldn’t even go to swim class without us being trailed by people looking for answers. Well y’all have the answers and y’all still don’t wanna listen to them.

Kanye West Offers To Pay Full College Tuition For George Floyd’s Daughter

(AllHipHop News) For more than a week, many fans were asking why Kanye West had not publicly addressed the ongoing #BlackLivesMatter protests against police brutality and racism taking place around the world. He reportedly stepped up financially this week.

West is said to have donated $2 million to support the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. All three unarmed African-Americans were recently killed by police officers or a former police officer.

According to reports, West also set up a 529 education plan to cover the full college tuition for George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter Gianna Floyd. He was also seen joining protestors in the streets of Chicago’s South Side. The rapper did not speak to the crowd at that time.

There was a lot of attention placed on Kanye West’s reaction to the global demonstrations and calls for police reform because he has been a very outspoken supporter of Donald Trump. The president is facing substantial criticism from the public, politicians, and ex-military officials for his response to the protests which included gassing peaceful demonstrators for a photo op in front of a DC church.

No Justice, No Peace! Freddie Gibbs Roasts LL Cool J!

(AllHipHop Rumors) What did LL Cool J do to Freddie Gibbs? That’s all I can think of because he has been roasting him ever the older legend in leather. As you may have seen, LL dropped a pretty passionate rap to the death of people like George Floyd that have been victim to the EVILS of police brutality.

Check this out:

https://twitter.com/MIYAYORADIO/status/1267577392027099138

There’s nobody that has been able to give context to this other than Gibbs calling LL “a cop.” What could have gotten Gibbs so mad at LL for? Maybe he’s trying to promote his new album.

And yes, I know I am late! I been looting since yall won’t help me come up!
