Rick Ross Spotted At George Floyd Protest in South Florida

(AllHipHop News) In South Florida, people have been protesting and marching for eight days, straight, in the wake of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of a cop.

Southwest 107th Avenue at Southwest Eight Street was flooded with people; at least 1,000, gathered at the protest in Miramar, joining in solidarity.

Amongst the crowd, was Hip-Hop artist, Rick Ross, a Miami Gardens native.

Showing his support, Rick Ross marched with local protestors and attended the gathering at Ansin Sports Complex.

“Making sure you’re seen, making sure you’re heard. We’re doing it in the most effective way,” Rick Ross proclaimed to a Miami Herald reporter. “I’m waking up to it every day. That’s how a Black man moves. You gotta wake up to something new every day. And that’s what we doing. Hopefully we moving bigger and better as a unit. That’s why I’m out here.”

Thankfully, this Saturday’s protests were relatively peaceful, unlike last weekend, when riots and looting broke out around the city, including a tense clash in front of Miami Police headquarters where activists were pelted with rubber bullets and sprayed with tear gas.

According to Rozay, he decided to get out to support despite the threat of violence.

“It’s never too many of us. Justice for George. We all gotta sit at the table. And we all gotta be looked at as an equal. Respected as an equal.” He went to share the sentiments of many throughout these nationwide protests: “A lot of things gotta change,” Rick Ross said.

Pilot Called Cops On Lil Wayne During Incident On Private Plane

(AllHipHop News) Last week, Fat Joe spoke with Lil Wayne on IG Live, to discuss various topics including his thoughts on George Floyd’s murder.

The New Orleans rap star made some shocking comments right after Floyd’s death at the hands of police officer Derek Chauvin, who has since been charged with 2nd degree murder for kneeling on the man’s neck for almost 9 minutes, and ultimately killing him.

“We should blame ourselves for not doing more,” Lil Wayne proclaimed. “We have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody, or a certain race or everybody with a badge.”

Over the weekend, Lil Wayne clarified his comments during the 7th episode of Young Money Radio.

However, Weezy recalled an incident just a few days ago with a pilot on his own private plane.

Although his previous statement urged people to not place blame on a “whole force” or “certain race,” Wayne revealed he was a victim of discrimination despite his fortune and fame.

“I’ll tell you something another situation, a couple days ago I’m on my plane, private plane, mind you, thank God. I spent so much for that, and I work hard for what I’m able to spend on that. I had a pilot, I pay my pilots, obviously, it’s a private plane, had a situation on my plane, pilot so happens to be Caucasian.”

According to Wayne, the unidentified pilot became snarky with him on a flight and when the rapper checked his employee, the guy called the cops.

“I go up there to talk to him, he tells me get out of the aisle and go back to your seat. He must have thought he was flying United Airlines or something, he must have forgot that that was my plane. He must have forgot. I think what happened is he did forget, he forgot what was going on. You know what happened, though? He had police waiting for me when we landed, waiting for my ass.”

The pilot’s actions were similar to those of Amy Cooper, aka “Central Park Karen,” who called the cops on a black man who asked her to leash her dog while he watched birds.

Thankfully, both Lil Wayne and the birdwatcher Christian Cooper (no relation) escaped without any charges. But the stakes were significantly hire for Wayne, who’s private jet has been targeted by the cops in the past.

“Thank God the police they didn’t forget what was going on, and they let me go right home,” Lil Wayne revealed.”

Jordan Brand Commits $100M to Social Justice

(AllHipHop News) Michael Jordan is stepping up to the plate.

The basketball icon, and his Jordan Brand, plans to commit $100 million to organizations dedicated to serving communities of color and are focused on social justice and education.

The money will be spread over the next 10 years, “ensuring racial equality,” the company announced.

In addition to the Jordan Brand’s commitment, parent company, Nike, is also making sure they do their part in supporting Black communities. They have committed $40 million over the course of four years.

Nike’s activism comes after the announcement of a video ad they released last week that called us all out. “For once, don’t do it. Let’s not pretend there’s not a problem in America,” the video opened.

A post shared by Nike (@nike)

Jordan has stood by protestors, after the death of George Floyd, proclaiming that “we have had enough” when it comes to the racism and violence people of color face in this country.

This act of charity follows his recent donation to charity, as he shared proceeds from “The Last Dance” documentary to “charitable causes.” Despite being criticized in the past for not doing enough for the Black community, Jordan’s philanthropic work was listed and shared on NBA.com last year.

MJ knows that money, alone, isn’t the only solution to combatting racism. But he hopes that his tremendous financial commitment to these organizations will start a conversation to help end our country’s ingrained racism. One that he, himself, has witnessed throughout his life as an African American.

SIGNS: Army Of Gay Escorts After Sen. Lindsey Graham!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Between gay prostitutes and multiple uses of racial slurs, it’s a bad weekend to be a hypocritical old white men!

Earlier today, Senator Lindsey Graham was reportedly outed for hiring gay male escorts- a shocking allegation considering he has lobbied most of his career against LGBTQ rights.

The allegation came from a male escort named Sean Harding, who Graham is suspected of hiring in 2013.

Graham’s alleged alias “Lady G” has been trending on Twitter all day.

Also in 2013, Utah defensive coordinator and one-time golden boy Morgan Scalley allegedly sent multiple uses of the n-word in text messages, including statements such as being “good at recruiting [N-word]” and “I can recruit all four of those [N-words].”

Scalley has been suspended indefinitely following an internal investigation.

As often happens in these situations, it didn’t take long for others to paint a picture of Scalley as a well-known hypocrite- publicly preaching Mormon ideals and family values while also using racially degrading terms towards players and non-white staff.

As the United States enters its second week of unrest following the protests stemming from George Floyd’s murder, former players and staff have used this story to share experiences with Scalley that they have kept hidden for multiple years for fear of retribution. Some statements include:

“I, too, was called a racial slur (N-word) by this man in 2008, confronted him my senior year 2013. Held onto it 5 years and Got a half-ass apology, more on terms of an excuse” @spotlightlacy

“Wowwww!!!!!! I F’n knew it!!!!!! And what u mean “men of color?”. See the truth always comes out. F that Utah was crazy, I seen some s##t!!!! And my teammates know wassup. Let’s see if Saftey Pride gone speak up and be honest.” @SeanSmith24

In addition to treating players poorly, other sources claim that Scalley treated non-Mormon coaches and staff poorly, insulting their personal beliefs, religions, lifestyles, and even spouse choices.

Perhaps the most interesting parallel between the Scalley and Graham stories is that rumors have been swirling online that their respective bosses played a part in the leak.

Some say that President Trump leaked the Graham story while coach Kyle Whittingham appears to have distanced himself from the disgraced Scalley before the media broke the news.

Scalley was reportedly next in line for Whittingham’s job.

However, Whittingham appears to show no signs of leaving, and the void filled by Scalley could go to any number of Whittingham’s loyal staff including his brother, although that does not appear likely.

More likely scenarios include the promotion of a current non-white Utah coach.

Top contenders include Lewis Powell (Pacific Islander), Guy Holladay (black), Robert Blechen (Iranian/Hispanic), or Sione Po’uha (Pacific Islander).

Perhaps @jeff_AAUte sums it up best with the following:

“Hate to say it but there is no way Morgan Scalley can continue to be a part of the Utah program. Can’t be tolerated by a coach and a mentor.”

Racism has no place in politics- especially in a time when America needs strong leadership on the field and in the senate.

Fans Troll Carl Crawford’s George Floyd Post After Domestic Abuse Allegations

(AllHipHop News) This past February, Carl Crawford allegedly had a violent encounter with the mother of his child shortly after they split up.

According to authorities, the former LA Dodger visited her Houston home with intentions to talk things out and save their relationship.

However, things turned violent. Crawford’s ex-girlfriend claims that he choked her and slammed her head repeatedly while holding a handgun on her over cheating allegations.

Now, a few months later, the court has ordered Crawford to have zero contact with his baby mama.

Yesterday Carl was arrested and freed on $50,000 bail.

What has sparked even more outrage, however, is a recent post he shared on Instagram following George Floyd’s murder. Many took to his comments, calling out his hypocrisy.

“Your new name is #CarlCoward while another user wrote, “how you go stand for black rights but you beat black women?”

While those are two examples, it didn’t stop there.

Carl Crawford’s arrest comes on the heels of a double-drowning at his Houston home.

According to the cops, the scary ordeal happened just two weeks before a 5-year-old wandered around his backyard and fell in his pool. A 25-year-old woman named Bethany Lartigue attempted to save the boy, but she ended up drowning too.

He’s also been accused of threatening rap star Megan thee Stallion, who is attempting to get out of her deal with his record label 1501 Certified Ent.

“I was on a path that leads straight to the graveyard,” Action Bronson said. Eating for sport took its toll but its myfault and its on me to fix it. I busted my ass for the past 3 months and I’m down to 298.”

The good news comes as Action Bronson cares for his newborn baby while juggling a busy career.

Drake, Nicki Minaj’s Parent Label Will No Longer Use The Term “Urban”

(AllHipHop News) For many years, the term “urban” has been used to describe a style, a city, an attitude, and even music.

Today, Republic Records released a statement officially banning the word, and disassociating it from Hip Hop and R&B.

For far too long, the term was used to marginalize music created by Black artists. And with so many shifts occurring in the aftermath of recent events, including the murder of George Floyd, the label looks to also “shape the future.”

“We encourage the rest of the music industry to follow suit as it is important to shape the future of what we want it to look like, and not adhere to the outdated structures of the past,” they wrote on Instagram.

Their announcement follows another company, Milk & Honey, and their declaration to eliminate the use of the word as well.

These actions have occurred simultaneously, in the aftermath of recent protests that have erupted in response to the murder of George Floyd in Minnesota by police.

Republic has even launched a new internal committed called the “Republic Records Action Committee (R2AC).”

This committee will focus on social justice issues and will work hand-in-hand with Universal Music Group’s new task force as well. Together they look to donate $25 million to various organizations dedicated to social justice work.

Omarion And Apryl Jones Stop Warring To Give Son His First Hair Cut

(AllHipHop Rumors) The world is in civil unrest, but alas some two “Love and Hip-Hop” stars are coming together and working in unity.

This kumbaya moment may not end the social protest raging across the world, but for those who have been watching the world of love and Hip-Hop (pun definitely intended), this peace treaty means something.

Omarion and Apryl Jones have been very public about their split.

While details are shaky on the details (mostly because of how super-private Omarion is), we do know that Apryl not only started a new life with a new man (B2K member Lil Fizz) but created an entirely disrespectful storyline on the franchise VH1 show that quite honestly introduced us to the real her.

Most of 2019, fans watched the Helen of Troy (Scream Tour Edition) play two bandmates against each and people wondered about how the kids were doing seeing “Uncle Fizz” with mommy.

Well, it seems that no one needs to worry and that when it comes to their kids the “Ice Box” singer and his baby moms got it all under control.

Proof positive that the former “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood (LHHH)” couple coming together to cut their son, Megaa Grandberry’s hair for the first time.

Ian Connor Shocks Rape Accusers By Support His Own Arrest!

(AllHipHop Rumors) The rape allegations have not gone away for Ian Connor.

The popular face of streetwear was accused of raping 21 women in the past. Sadly, none of those allegations were followed through with any action, and justice was not served to the victims.

Despite this atrocious history, he has managed to garner cosigns from an array of influential people, allowing him to “conduct business as usual.”

Recently, a Change.org petition surfaced that already has over 21,000 signatures! The petition has a goal of reaching 25,000 signatures, outlines the rape allegations, and calls for justice.

“We are encouraging that the people that cosign him to denounce any association with him and encourage him to being to attempt to right his wrong that were not brought to justice through the criminal justice system. We cannot allow Internet personalities be exempt from repercussion.”

The petition notes that “this is only the beginning.”

Organizers have started working on a civil lawsuit and called out the people who have continuously denied his behavior. The petition then addresses those who have doubted the accusers throughout the years.

“Over 30 women have come forward, both privately and publicly. This isn’t normal and shouldn’t be normalized to believe that over 30 women should have their stories dismissed.”

In response to it all, Ian Connor taunted fans on Twitter by sharing the link to the petition.

“Sign this petition to make my friends/peers stop f##king with meh,” he wrote. Many people did not take this lightly.

“We appreciate you trying to take accountability. you directly admitting to rape would be better but yeah,” one user wrote. His female fans, in particular, were not pleased at all: “you’re the biggest herb” one woman wrote.

Lil Nas X Rips Weirdo Tucker Carlson For Lying About Riots

(AllHipHop News) Fox News troll Tucker Carlson went after Lil Nas X and accuse the young rapper of inciting days worth of deadly riots.

Fox’s weirdest news host next to Laura Ingraham claimed artists like Janelle Monae and Halsey were encouraging rioters, by providing bail money to get protestors out of jail, after being arrested during George Floyd protests happening across the United States.

Tucker Carlson singled out Lil Nas X, who asked his 4.5 million supporters to donate to help raise bail money in cities like Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

“Imagine if he’d used those followers instead to help small businesses destroyed by the riots he helped incite,” the wacky news host said.

Lil Nas X responded almost immediately and called out Tucker Carlson for pandering to his audience, which is made up of mostly xxx

“This man just lied and told millions of people on national television that I was inciting riots,” he tweeted. “You can’t make this up.”

A variety of celebrities rush to defend Lil Nas X including Seth Rogen and Halsey, who were also subject to Tucker’s ridiculous gas lighting.

And Lil Nas doesn’t give a damn about Tucker Carlson’s opinion anyway, because he’s too busy using his platform to get a message of social justice out to his followers.

Take a look at some of the wildest replies on Tucker Carlson’s Twitter account right now.

Music Management 101: Andy Kabamba Talks Aspiring To Be Birdman & How He Got There

Andy Kabamba is a music manager, A&R, and person for the streets. He states, “I move to the sound of the beat.” A former choreographer, it all started with the love of dance. From there, he fell in love with hip-hop and entertainment. Dance would attach him to music, eventually going on tour dancing for J. Holiday at his peak. “It was fun, it was passionate,” he remembers.

Born and raised in Congo, Africa, Andy came to the States at age 12. His uncle was NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo, which meant hoop dreams. Every summer, they’d attend games living their best life. Once he moved to Los Angeles from Boston at 19 years old, he became acclimated with various agencies and began doing gigs.

One day, he ended up on a set with Jay Sean who was at his peak with “Down” after signing to Cash Money Records. Seeing Birdman for the first time, he thought “man, that’s it. That’s what I want to be right there.”

Fast forward to 2020, Andy has his own management company titled 365 Management. Clients include T-Pain, A1 Bentley, Dre Moon, Lakeith Stanfield, and more.

AllHipHop caught up with Andy to discuss how he got his start from choreographer to management, including working with producer Dre Moon and Future.

AllHipHop: What was it about Birdman that you liked that day on Jay Sean’s set?

Andy Kabamba: Jay Sean’s still going through his winning moment with “Down,” signing to Cash Money Records. While on set, I saw Birdman walk up. I saw Birdman on the side, smoking a blunt and catching a vibe. I thought “he’s overseeing the video, that’s what I want to be doing. This dance, behind the camera s##t ain’t it.” I was hooked. I quit, jumped a whole career and started from the bottom. Started going after it.

AllHipHop: How did you start to go after ‘it’?

Andy Kabamba: I figured since I know the stage being a performer, I had to go back. I needed to get my own artists. In order to get my own artists, I needed to start from the bottom. Either build one or get with someone who’s trying to climb up. From there, I started working with a bunch of different people. Started working with Nipsey Hussle, one of the first people to believe in me. Nipsey gave me a chance to bring him music, to creative direct his stage.

This was the beginning of Nipsey, the “Feeling Myself” featuring Lloyd Nipsey. Helped him with a few shows on stage, it was fun. Good times. I was hot from there. Started f##king with Kevin McCall when he was hot on “Deuces,” then I finally ran into Detail, the producer. I thought “if I could build this guy into an artist, I could prove myself.” I saw that he’s working with Lil Wayne and said “wow, I gotta f##k with this guy.”

AllHipHop: So you found Detail as a producer and wanted to manage him?

Andy Kabamba: I wanted to manage him, help him, break him as an artist. I did whatever it took to put him as an elite producer. That was in LA, before he had all the placements. At this point, his biggest record was “Sexy Can I?” by Ray J. We started working, I did my best. I started out as an assistant and pushed him all the way to the limit. He started going hard on music and production. He wrote “How to Love” for Lil Wayne, which got us close to Cash Money Records. You do a record for Lil Wayne, Birdman and Slim are going to pull you in. That’s the cash cow! It’s funny I was back around Birdman again. s##t, I was back around my idol again.

AllHipHop: Take us back to those Cash Money Days, what was that like?

Andy Kabamba: It was amazing! We’d go to Miami. Birdman tells you “come in for the weekend,” you end up staying for 4 months. Hotel life, hotels start feeling like apartments. Those were the days, we were everywhere. Music started going from there. We got to build, working with Wayne and the whole Cash Money Records team. Being with Birdman, Nicki [Minaj], Gudda Gudda, Jae Millz, every artist Wayne had. You’re working around a whole circuit. Cash Money was signing so many people: Busta Rhymes, Bow Wow. They’re doing a lot of s##t at the time.

AllHipHop: At this point, you’re still managing Detail?

Andy Kabamba: At this point I’m still assisting, about to step into that management role. I’m still busting my ass. We’re doing music. I’m assisting, bringing in producers. I got a hold of that niche, and turned up. Eventually found and brought in Dre Moon and his group.

AllHipHop: How did you find Dre Moon?

Andy Kabamba: I went to school in Manchester, New Hampshire. New England area near Boston. A friend of mine from my hometown made beats, he came to me wanting to submit music. The music was from Dre and his boys, ended up being really dope. We loved it. We brought them in to make music with us, that’s how we started getting all the big records. “Tapout” for Rich Gang, “No Worries” for Lil Wayne, s##t kept going. The hits started coming, everything’s coming together. We made a whole Rich Gang album, we’re on the road working on stuff. Detail got signed to Cash Money Records.

AllHipHop: How was the experience following Detail’s signing?

Andy Kabamba: It was cool. Being with Birdman, Slim, Cash Money Records, you have access to a lot of things. You have a lot of freedom on what you want to do, what you want to be. Free reign control. You’re doing production, artist stuff, going out to the club with them, you look like straight money. You’re on the jets back and forth. You’re living that life, it’s crazy. Cash Money was so crazy at that moment. You could walk somewhere and if you’re a part of Cash Money Records, you spit on the ground and they all run to you.

AllHipHop: How did you learn the management side of things?

Andy Kabamba: Man, being under people. Learning a lot, peers. I was very humble. When I was an assistant, I’d ask questions. I was never scared. I’d ask every question.

AllHipHop: Did you ever ask managers how they did s##t?

Andy Kabamba: No, I asked them how they’re doing it. “Yo, so what’s that? What did you do right here?” I pick up very well. I see things for what it is. I was an assistant at first, met Future around Cash Money Record days too. People like Future would say “man, you’re a superstar assistant, g######. You’re moving and doing everything.” Nelly, Busta, everybody would give me my props a lot in those days. I’ve known all these guys for 8 to 9 years, they’d all ask if I’ve thought about managing. I’d be like “nah, that’s not me.” I was being humble.

AllHipHop: But the whole time you wanted to manage?

Andy Kabamba: Right. It took Dre Moon to be like “bro, you’re a f##king manager bro. You want to do this s##t.” Yo I’m doing it, f##k it. Dre was my first real, from the bottom, client. He actually helped me create and name my company, 365 Management. I started and didn’t look back.

AllHipHop: Because you’re working 365 days of the year?

Andy Kabamba: Yup, I’m nonstop. I’m always on the go. I’m always ready to go for it and go at it. Dre helped me name it: “man, you’re nonstop.” We did a bunch of big records as a unit. Detail wrote a bunch of big records like ”Drunk in Love” and “I Luh Ya Papi” for J. Lo. Dre was responsible for everything we’re doing, it was a great run.

AllHipHop: How’d you tap in with Future?

Andy Kabamba: Detail and Future were working together a lot. They were on it. Future’s a genius, but Detail was definitely there helping with the production. Things took off. After things were going so crazy and well, Detail had a spiral out. He went crazy with the money, so I had to detach and make a name for myself. Go forth with the plans I had. At this point, I had found too many producers and brought them to the table. Detail did “We Dem Boyz” for Wiz Khalifa with a producer I found, this new kid in California named Choppa Boi.

We also did “Lookin’ Ass N##ga” for Nick Minaj. From there, kept transitioning. I went and grabbed another producer named Bobby Johnson, he did “7/11” with Detail for Beyonce. I was orchestrating massive records. I’m like “yo, I’m done. I need to do my own thing. This guy’s going too crazy, he’s getting a bit over his head. Time for me to expand myself.” I took my clients, did my thing, started from the bottom again. First person to believe in me, take a shot and call me after I moved on from Detail, was Future.

AllHipHop: So what’d you end up doing with Future?

Andy Kabamba: Dre Moon started working with Future nonstop, bringing him beats. Future called me personally, “come by the studio, hang out.” We’re friends at this point. I told him about Detail, he’s running through the industry and telling people I left him and I wasn’t loyal. Detail was going through it with Drake too. I was over it. The Drake run was amazing, can’t forget that. Detail did “305 to my City” with Dre Moon, Dre Moon did “Own It.” I had Dre Moon signed to Detail. Before the fall out, we did all this big stuff. “Pound Cake,” it was a good time.

AllHipHop: Do you miss dancing?

Andy Kabamba: I was amazing, I was more than good. I miss it a little bit, but it takes a lot out of your body. My body has all these aches and soreness now. I’m 31 years old, I still feel strong. But my body’s still taking a toll, besides drinking. [laughs]

AllHipHop: How did you land with T-Pain?

Andy Kabamba: I met T-Pain in the Cash Money days. Once I was doing my own thing, we connected back in Los Angeles. At this point, Future had brought me back in the game fully. Put me in certain plays for him: A&R for him, placing records, collaborating with Chris Brown, Puffy, L.A. Reid. As my name got back in the system, it was a click back. Ran into T-Pain, he’s like “damn, you grew up!” I said “it’s good to see you, it’s been a minute. Let’s get this fire back on!”

AllHipHop: What all do you have your hands in right now?

Andy Kabamba: I got T-Pain. Dre Moon, my superstar as far as production goes. A1 Bentley, who’s a phenomenal producer, songwriter, and artist. I have Lakeith Stanfield.

AllHipHop: How’d you tap in with Lakeith, who’s an actor?

Andy Kabamba: We met on this flight 2 years ago in Atlanta. We sat at the airport drinking for hours. Me, him, and Dre Moon all connected. Dre was flying in from working with Future, we’re all headed back to LA. A crazy flight because everybody was on there: Akon, Lakeith, a few actors. A legendary flight actually! We had to make the flight land in Texas, they had to get the police to escort us off the plane. Dre got too drunk.

AllHipHop: What advice do you have for those who want to manage?

Andy Kabamba: Stay persistent. Double check everything. Triple check everything! Those are my main things. Don’t think something is done, don’t think something is okay. It’s not, it’s never okay.

AllHipHop: What goals do you have for yourself?

Andy Kabamba: Break out this new artist I signed named Savanah from North Carolina, amazing kid. R&B singer, got the ladies on lock. My goal’s always to reach that Birdman level, making sure my clients reach that superstar level. Where I want Pain is not where we are yet. I believe we can because anything’s possible with such a young guy. He’s one of the youngest pioneers in this game, 34 years old. There are guys out here way older going crazy. You wouldn’t even believe that Tyga’s older than T-Pain, mind-blowing. This whole time I thought Lil Wayne was younger than T-Pain.

AllHipHop: What percent should managers get with the artists?

Andy Kabamba: A manager should get 15%. If he’s doing everything by himself all the way, 20%. The standard management fee is 15%. If you’re dividing that with another person, break it down to 7%. If it’s a team, a partnership, a collective: 15%. Biggest advice in the game I got from L.A. Reid: if you can’t move your artists, you ain’t nothing. If you can’t move your artist to show up to a certain interview, show, appearance, red carpet, whatever it is paid or not paid, you ain’t nothing. Period.

Snoop Dogg Will Be A First-time Voter This November

(AllHipHop News) The world is shifting. Necessary changes are happening. And Snoop Dogg is making sure he’s a part of that change.

For the first time, ever, the Hip-Hop OG is casting a ballot in this year’s election. Why is this November different for Snoop?

“For many years, it had me brainwashed thinking that you couldn’t vote because you had a criminal record,” Snoop Dogg said. “Everybody know I’m a front-liner. I ain’t gonna tell you to do something I didn’t do.”

Additionally, Snoop has always been extremely vocal about President Trump and his lack of leadership and qualifications.

“Ain’t no f##kin’ way in the world y’all can vote for Donald Trump when he come back up again. If y’all do vote for him, y’all some stupid mothaf##kas,” Snoop boldly stated in an interview with Rolling Stone last year.

The murder of George Floyd in Minnesota at the hands of police has sparked worldwide outrage and a demand for justice. Snoop posted a side-by-side image of Colin Kaepernick kneeling along with the horrific photo of the MPD officer’s knee on George Floyd’s neck.

No justice just us.

We all want a change for the better. It’s critical more than ever.

And Snoop is making sure he’s going to be a part of the change.

“Today you would be 27 years old. Today you would be celebrating your beautiful life,” he wrote while sharing the photo the two of them took from their first meeting.

“Instead today we are still in deep mourning because your life was taken from you permanently at the hands of Louisville Metro Police Department & 3 of its incompetent officers who entered your home with malicious intent serving a no-knock warrant when the people the police were looking for were already in custody,” Game wrote.

The story is heartbreaking. Tragic. Another sad example of the injustices people of color face in America.

Lil Wayne Addresses Backlash Over George Floyd Comment

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Wayne has finally broken his silence over some controversial statements he made in the wake of George Floyd’s death last week.

According to Wayne, the comments he made to Fat Joe during an Instagram live implying black people were to blame for the persistent and violence against black men at the hands of cops.

“When you want to speculate about me, consider that as well. Consider that I’ve witnessed these type of things, this is what I’ve witnessed, this is what I grew up seeing,” the rapper explained.

“First of all, my life was saved when I was young. I was twelve or something, I think, shot myself. I was saved by a white cop, Uncle Bob. You have to understand from therefore, you have to understand the way I view police, period. I was saved by a white cop,” Lil Wayne said. “There was a bunch of black cops jumped over me when they saw me at that door, laying on the floor with that hole in my chest. He refused to. Those black cops jumped over me, and ran through the crib, and said we found the gun, we found this, we found that. He said I found this baby on the floor, I need to get to a hospital. He didn’t wait for an ambulance, he took his car. He made somebody drive it, and he made sure that I lived. That’s Uncle Bob, and Uncle Bob’s story.”

Wayne was responding to the backlash he created after Instagram Live with Fat Joe on May 28th.

Lil Wayne said African-Americans had to stop blaming the entire police force, and the white race for the injustices.

“We have to stop viewing it with such a broad view, meaning we have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody or a certain race or everybody with a badge. We have to actually get into who that person is. And if we want to place the blame on anybody, it should be ourselves for not doing more than what we think we’re doing.”

Many of Lil Wayne’s fans were outraged, and his words were even twisted and used by right-wing talking heads like Tomi Lahren, who praises the rapper’s stance.

“Lil Wayne [has] taken a much different approach” Tomi Lahren spouted on Fox Nation’s show “Final Thoughts.” “An approach that has made him the target of outrage culture and to some, a traitor.”

George Floyd was killed on Memorial Day (May 25th), when officer Derek Chauvin rested his knee on his neck for almost 9 minutes.

Floyd pleaded for help but eventually died while three other police officers stood by and watched, sparking worldwide outrage, protests, and riots around the United States.

Earlier this week, Derek Chauvin was charged with second-degree murder, while the other three officers were charged with aiding and abetting.

Blueface Reduces George Floyd To A Joke

(AllHipHop News) Blueface is the latest rapper facing backlash for making insensitive jokes about the death of George Floyd.

Blueface was flaunting his wealth as most Americans sit home unemployed, watching riots unfold nationwide, over the death of Floyd, who was killed by Minneapolis police on Memorial Day (May 25th).

The “Thotiana” rap star was looking for furniture in Los Angeles and decided to stream his shopping spree for his second estate.

The rapper complained the prices were a little too high even though he spent $36,000, so Blueface said he was looking for “that George Floyd discount.”

Blueface deleted the post from his Instagram stories, but it was too late.

Users on social media have been lighting him up over his insensitive comments.

Earlier this week, the internet dragged Jacksonville rapper Tokyo Jetz was dragged as well after she threatened to “George Floyd” a friend as she choked a man during a friendly wrestling match.

Drakeo The Ruler Drops New Mixtape “Thank You for Using GTL” From Prison

(AllHipHop News) Cali rappers continue to push the envelope and make something out of nothing. In that tradition, Drakeo creates a project by hook or crook, against the backdrop of civil unrest.

The irony chokes you.

While West coast rapper Drakeo remains locked up in jail, Los Angeles has been burning in protest over years and years of civic misconduct perpetrated by various levels of the city’s law enforcement.

From the critique of the wicked politicians who turned a blind eye in the 60s, the criminal behavior of the LAPD toward Rodney King in the 90s, to 2020’s opposition to District Attorney Jackie Lacey, who unscrupulously refuses to prosecute police officers who have accused of abusing their authority – the City of Angels is on fire — while The Ruler sits in solitary confinement dreaming about his freedom.

According to family, D.A. Lacey is why Drakeo is knocked.

Drakeo The Ruler is in the hole waiting for his chance to retry his case for a crime he has already been acquitted for.

Confusing?

The rapper was acquitted of murder in July of 2019, but Lacey’s office used his rap lyrics as proof to connect him to illegal activities.

Drakeo, real name Darrell Caldwell, was hit with a criminal gang conspiracy and another for shooting from a motor vehicle, both of which could net him a life sentence.

“Don’t think you can be charged for the same thing as me,” explained Drakeo. “They’re doing it to me. How many regular people do you think they’re going to do this to?”

Drakeo may be behind the bars, but he still is producing quality heat.

Today, (June 5), Drakeo released an 18-track mixtape, “Thank You for Using GTL,” a project recorded through a prison phone over the span of two weeks.

The 26-year-old transformed GTL, the inmate telecommunications system contracted by Los Angeles County, into his studio and created a solid project with his producer JOOGSZN.

“I plugged my phone into my computer when Drakeo called, and we recorded all the tracks over a period of 36 hours,” explained JOOGSZN, producer and project architect. “His aunt put money on the phone so we could do this album. Some lyrics were off the top, some were written.

“We planned create a tape before he went to jail and I held onto some of the beats intended for that time. I would preview the beats over the phone, Drakeo would pick which ones match for each song. My set up was super simple,” JOOGSZN continued. “I propped my laptop up on a cereal box, hooked up a Beats Pill directed at the phone so Drakeo could hear the beat as he rapped and I had the phone line recording directly into my landline so I could get the cleanest audio possible.”

Rio Da Young OG, ALLBLACK, and Lil 9 are featured on the project and is out now via Stinc Team Records for fans.

In March, Drakeo shared Free Drakeo, a compilation of loose singles and unreleased material with appearances from 03 Greedo, Maxo Kream, SOB X RBE, Rio Da Young OG, Desto Dubb, and more.

Most recently, Drakeo recorded a remix of his own, talking his smack for six-and-a-half minutes over the beat from Shordie Shordie’s Platinum-selling “Bitchuary.”

As people continue to bring down and reform the corrupt criminal justice, his team wants you to remember to scream #FreeDrakeo. But until then, check out his new music and listen to this quality project that is packed with the angst that has set LA on fire.

Kodak Black Beats 15 Year Sentence And Gets Rehab Instead

(AllHipHop News) Kodak Black won a major legal victory in court today after multiple weapons charges were dismissed.

Kodak was facing up to 15 years in prison on the state gun charges which netted him three years in a federal prison, which he is currently serving out in Kentucky.

But the rapper’s lawyer worked out a deal with Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, which will allow him to enter a drug rehab program instead of prison.

Kodak Black’s lawyer Bradford Cohen addressed his legal victory on Instagram today (June 5th).

“I like to call things as i see them. I am always working on people to see different sides of my clients. I think some people are worth my time paid or not,” attorney Bradford Cohen wrote. “I appreciate Dade State Atty. Katherine Fernandez Rundle and her team taking time to listen to what I had to say about Bill. Not only what I had to say about his character, but what I had to say about his treatment. I believe people come together best when we can all sit at a table and just listen, its not always about the good and bad about a case, but to just listen to each other.”

The win is a huge victory for Kodak Black, who recently filed an emergency motion arguing the rapper was unfairly sent to a notorious maximum-security prison even though the court acknowledged a mistake during his sentencing over his history of drug use.

Bradford Cohen claims the Bureau Of Prisons is housing the rapper with violent inmates, even though he was Kodak was convicted of the non-violent crime of lying on an application to buy guns in November of 2019.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Jerry Wonda Call For Reparations, Justice & Equality

By Miles Fawcett

(AllHipHop News) In the midst of the whirlwind of emotions, conversations, and protests happening in America and across the globe, the poignant spoken word of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is especially relevant.

Baraka recently released the music video for his spoken word “What We Want,” one the five tracks on his 2019 EP of the same name. The video features interpretive dancers with painted black and white faces and a backup bongo drum.

The message behind “What We Want” draws inspiration from 1960’s civil rights groups including the Nation of Islam and the Black Panther Party. Baraka uses their slogans as a blueprint to his spoken word and music video.

Baraka speaks on the desires and struggles people of color throughout the spoken word performance. The piece is aptly named – Baraka is listing what he and other people of color would demand from those in power if given the chance.

One of the most powerful lines of “What We Want” is a commentary on the state of cultural appropriation in America “We just want everything we created and everything that was created as a result of what we created, and we want it with interest.”

Baraka also calls for reparations with a call for “the callouses our hands and the pain in our lower back” to be “added to our savings.”

Baraka’s message doesn’t stop at America’s borders either. The Mayor calls for “every corner of every country” to be developed, alluding to the scars of colonialism that still have not healed overseas.

Continuing the theme of financial reparations for people of color across the globe, saying “we need all the money in all the banks in every part of the world to be used for our collective benefit.”

Several faces are shown with words such as “truth,” “reparations,” “free housing,” and “equal pay.” Baraka cries out for the improvement of the lives of all of the disenfranchised in America, not just people of color.

Ultimately, Mayor Baraka just wants freedom. Freedom for his people and freedom for a country that projects freedom for its citizens but has failed to deliver. “We need more than justice in the moment – we need an overhaul of our systems. This is our opportunity as a people and world citizens to address the root of the larger issues that affect all our communities and the injustices that we deal with.”

“What We Want” has the potential to become the soundtrack to this era’s fight for social justice. The Mayor has written a manifesto for the racism that plagues our society with a blueprint for how to address our social ills. It is an elegiac cry for action that is both heartbreaking and inspirational.
