(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nicki Minaj’s brother has asked a judge to dismiss the guilty verdict in his child rape case.
Jelani Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child in November of 2017 and now faces 25 years to life in prison.
He was set to be sentenced on Tuesday (February 20th), but his attorney, David Schwartz, has asked Nassau County Supreme Court Judge Robert McDonald to toss the conviction.
According to reports, the judge has yet to rule on the request.
During the trial, his defense lawyers claimed Jelani’s estranged wife, Jacqueline Robinson – the mother of the girl at the center of the drama, set him up as part of a $25 million extortion plot just four months after they tied the knot in a lavish wedding, which “Anaconda” hitmaker Nicki paid for.
Robinson, who filed for divorce in 2016, denied the allegations during her testimony, while the court also heard evidence from the victim and her younger brother, who claimed he walked in on Maraj assaulting his sister.
Nicki has never commented on the case publicly, but she previously helped to secure her brother’s freedom following his arrest by putting up two of her homes for collateral as she covered his $100,000 bail.

The rapper announced the “45 Tour” of Europe, to celebrate the life of his late father George Taylor.
Game’s dad died in January,, at the age of 65.
“I personally apologize to my fans for being late with the tour dates etc…. but after losing my father a few weeks ago I was going to cancel tour, album, everything because I was lost & in a lot of pain,” Game explained. “I couldn’t focus on anything but my family & getting myself out of the dark place I was in…… after talking to my mother & thinking about what my father would want me to do for my fans, career & family…. I’m proud to give my European fans the tour as promised with the dates… thank all my fans in Europe & around the world for the countless DM’s, support & love through this rough patch I’m going through.”
“The 45 Tour,” which launches on February 28th, will take Game to cities like London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin and more.

(AllHipHop News) Tekashi 6ix9ine’s shows continue to be canceled, amidst a wave of threats.
An upcoming gig in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania this April has been scrapped, due to security concerns.
Tekashi 6ix9ine was supposed to hit the stage at the Ali Baba Liquor Lounge, but some locals protested his appearance, due to the rapper’s criminal record.
In April, 6ix9ine is scheduled to be sentenced, after he pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The charges were the result of a shocking video which featured a nude 13-year old girl sitting on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s lap.
Representatives for the bar did not explain the reason for Tekashi’s shows being canceled.
The same day the bar announced Takashi show was being axed, code enforcement officials for the city shut the bar down.
“City officials shut the venue down until a minor code issue is up to date regarding a wall that was taken down,” a representative for Ali Baba Liquor Lounge said in a statement posted to Facebook.
“Even though it’s a minor issue, we decided to keep the venue closed until this issue is fixed,” the representatives said.

(AllHipHop Rumors) Birdman has been making headlines for various reasons to start 2018. Some of the reasons have been good and others have been not so good.
The 2018 headline season was started by pictures surfacing of Birdman and two of Rap’s hottest new rappers. Those rappers would be Youngboy Never Broke Again and 6ix9ine.
A collaboration with Youngboy Never Broke Again would be released soon after. The extent of the relationship with 6ix9ine is still not known.Birdman would then enter headlines again after making a Super Bowl wager with Ar-Ab.
The Philly rapper would win the wager and would be paid as promised following the gamble. The Cash Money Records boss recently made headlines again after releasing his long-awaited documentary via Apple Music.
“Before Anythang” was released last Friday on Apple Music and is the first part of a three-part series that will be released. Now Birdman is making headlines again for two different reasons.
The first reason is his confirmation of his engagement to singer Toni Braxton.
“We not married … as of yet. That’s my girl, my friend, my family. That’s my love, my soldier, my life. She my everything … She my life. I love her to death.,” said Birdman.
It’s good to see Birdman in a happy place in his life, but everybody isn’t as happy for Birdman.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I. has reportedly settled a lawsuit with his former employees over pay.
Avery Lee, Kyle Vargas, Khori Vargas, and Shawn Yarborough sued the “Live Your Life” hitmaker and his business partner Charles Hughes, alleging they failed to pay them properly for overtime at the rapper’s Scales 925 Restaurant.
T.I. and Hughes denied the accusations but settled the case this month.
T.I. and Hughes agreed to pay their four former employees $39,000 each in the settlement.
They also paid $43,000 in legal bills.
In exchange, the quartet agreed not to seek any further litigation against T.I. and Hughes.
The restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia opened in 2015 but closed its doors the following year due to unpaid rent.

The rappers are cashing in on the success of their #1 song “Rockstar” with a tour that begins this April in Portland, Oregon.
Post and 21, along with special guest SOB X RBE, will roll through 28 cities across North America including Seattle, Nashville, Toronto, Atlanta, and Austin.
The tour will wrap up in San Francisco on June 24.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting Friday, February 23.

Yachty took to Twitter to reveal the artwork and the release date for the mixtape, which will drop on March 9th.

(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg came to the rescue of a driver who was stranded in a broken-down car on a California freeway on Sunday.
Katrina Graham said that she was driving home from church on Sunday morning when her car broke down on a busy freeway in Riverside, California.
She was waiting in the vehicle for her brother to pick her up when the rapper knocked on her car window.
The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” star told Graham he told she was stuck in an unsafe spot and offered to give her car a push to somewhere safer.
He had apparently parked his own car off the exit ramp and ran back to help her move to a less dangerous space.
The hip-hop star, who was wearing oversized sunglasses and a black hat, gave her car the push and also posed for a selfie with Graham through the window before heading off.
Later that day, Snoop was seen sitting courtside at the NBA All-Star Game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which took place two days after he competed in the inaugural Hip-Hop All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Friday.
He served as team captain for the game and had players including Chris Brown and The Game on his side as they competed against 2 Chainz’s team, which consisted of Migos star Quavo, Wale and Machine Gun Kelly.
Snoop’s team emerged victorious.
(AllHipHop News) R&B star Frank Ocean has launched a lawsuit in an attempt to block a producer from cashing in on his Blonde album.
The “Thinkin Bout You” hitmaker, real name Christopher Breaux, claims he hired Om’Mas Keith to produce master recordings for the album – and now he has registered 11 of the tracks with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) alleging he co-wrote them.
According to TMZ, Ocean wants to make sure his former producer does not receive credits for writing the tunes.
The 30-year-old claims he already paid Keith a flat fee and he insists he didn’t compose the music, so he is not entitled to royalties or credits.

(AllHipHop News) Jeffrey “Ja Rule” Atkins stood with New York City citizens protesting the Housing Authority. Public housing residents have complained about going long periods this winter season without heat and hot water in their homes.
“Let’s come out and let’s fight this cause first. Let’s shut the city down. We ain’t paying no more rent until these situations are dealt with. No heat, no hot water? No money, no rent,” said Ja Rule at a rally held on the steps of City Hall.
City Council members joined the Queens-raised rapper and local activists at the press conference on Tuesday. According to Councilwoman Alicka Ampry-Samuel, 80% of families living in New York City Housing Authority buildings went without heat this winter.
The politicians, tenants, and activists are calling on NYCHA to renovate the heating systems at their public housing complexes. Attendees at the rally could be heard chanting “shut it down, “enough is enough,” and “turn up the heat.”

(AllHipHop Rumors) Yesterday Blac Chyna took over the internet following news of a sex tape leaking. The video made its rounds online over the weekend with fans catching word Monday.
The tape features Chyna in a compromising position doing adult activities with a male. The male in the video was said to be ex-boyfriend Meechie, which he later confirmed.
Meechie is an up and coming singer so fans instantly pointed the finger at him for the leak. However, more details about the tape leak became known after Blac Chyna announced she was getting the police involved.
Both of Blac Chyna’s lawyers, Lisa Bloom and Walter Mosley, would issue statements later in the day.
They vehemently denounced what they call revenge p### and stated the appropriate judgments would be sought. After this, rumors began to swirl about who the culprit of the alleged leak could be.
The fingers thing all got pointed to Cardi B’s best friend Star Brim.
The nature of the alleged beef between Star Brim and Blac Chyna isn’t known. Reports of that will probably be released on gossip sites later in the week. For those who don’t know, Star Brim is New York-based Startender.
She’s made a name for herself in her own right.
Maybe this is what had led to the alleged tension with Chyna. Only time will tell, but one thing we know for sure is that Blac Chyna and her team aren’t happy right now.
