Rihanna Is The Grammy Awards Biggest Meme Star

(AllHipHop News) Rihanna found herself the biggest meme star of the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, thanks to the raunchy dance moves during her performance of “Wild Thoughts.”

The 29-year-old star looked stunning in a flowing pink dress as she took to the stage inside New York’s Madison Square Garden to perform the tune alongside DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller.

During the routine, Rihanna narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction as she performed the Gwara Gwara, a South African dance made popular by DJ Bongz, alongside around 50 dancers.

As she gyrated and moved to the music, the Barbadian star stuck her tongue out and pulled some hilarious facial expressions – which led to fans using the images to create memes.

Among the themes were many food-related jokes, with captions including “When she hungry and finally get some food” accompanying a clip of Rihanna sexily dancing.

DJ Bongz told local outlet TshisaLIVE that he is thrilled Rihanna’s performance drew more attention to the Gwara Gwara, explaining:

“I created the dance from scratch and it feels so special to have it shown on an international stage like the Grammys. It shows that Africa can make a big impact on international dance.

“I don’t know what the next step is but I know it will be become bigger. This is a great moment for both me and South Africa.”

Not everybody was impressed with Rihanna’s performance, however, as some commented on the singer’s apparently curvier than usual figure – body shaming her in the process.

Many speculated she might be pregnant, with one writing: “Rihanna looking a little pregnant up on that stage #Grammys2018.”

Another added: “I don’t think Rihanna is pregnant I just don’t think she’s missing no meals.”

Did Jay-Z Get Snubbed By The Grammys?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Did Jay Z get robbed? No, not like “Ante Up” or anything. The Brooklyn rapper has been a dominant force for over 20 years. And this year, as he approaches 50, it looks like he was a shoo-in to win at least one Grammy for the evening. But that didn’t happen last night in his native New York.

This is actually become a big deal on social media and people are continuing to debate over the idea that Bruno Mars one over people like Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar because they aren’t pop friendly artists.

Now, certainly isn’t to suggest that Bruno Mars is and talented or deserving of his accolades. However, we all know that artists like Beck, For example have been known to win big at the Grammys and not receive the same commiserate pop acclaim. We also know that the Grammys continues to be an old boys type of organization that has not traditionally appreciated hip-hop music. We thought this year was different, didn’t we? Now I am not suggesting that there was some BS going on but Hip Hop performances stole the show last night and all of them were phenomenal. Jay Z was deserving of at least one award last night because his album 4:44 was incredibly dope. It was also incredibly controversial because of the themes it included such as Black nationalism, economics, community, and empowerment for people of color. It also just O.J. Simpson which I thought would make it a shoo-in to win.

Donald Glover Talks Ending His Music Career As Childish Gambino

(AllHipHop News) Last year, Donald Glover revealed he planned to retire his Childish Gambino alter ego. The multi-talented entertainer won his first Grammy on Sunday for the hit record “Redbone” (Best Traditional R&B Performance), but that triumph apparently will not stop Glover from eventually moving on from music.

“I stand by that. I’m really appreciative of this [Grammy]. I’m still making another project,” said the Atlanta native. “But I like endings. I think they’re important to progress. I think if a lot of things had death clauses in them we wouldn’t have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest. I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”

It was recently announced Gambino signed with RCA Records. He is expected to drop the follow-up to his critically acclaimed “Awaken, My Love!” album via the major label.

Additionally, Glover’s Atlanta TV series is set for a second season on FX. The popular show returns on March 1.

Logic Talks Addressing Trump’s “Sh*thole” Comments At The Grammys

(AllHipHop News) Logic has made it a practice to highlight social issues during award shows. Following his much talked about set at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, the Maryland rapper once again performed his “1-800-273-8255” single at the 2018 Grammy Awards.

He ended the performance with Alessia Cara and Khalid by giving a spoken-word-esque speech. Part of the commentary included the Everybody album creator addressing Donald Trump allegedly calling African nations and Haiti “sh-thole countries.”

“Everybody is beautiful and the world is equal and we need to fight towards that,” Logic explained backstage at the Grammys. “I’m not a politician but if that man can call those beautiful places ‘sh-tholes,’ I can stand up and say that they’re not. And that they’re amazing.”

This was the second time this weekend that a high-profile Hip Hop artist spoke out against Trump’s statements about mostly black countries. During an appearance on The Van Jones Show, rap legend Jay-Z called the president’s words “disappointing” and “hurtful” which led to a response from Trump on Twitter.

Rumors.

They even had ill promo items like “the Big Mack.” However, on the low, Biggie didn’t really care for Craig Mack. Remember when he said, “I got more Mack than Craig”? That was an indication of it all. Peep the video:

It has never been revealed WHY B.I.G. disliked Mack so much. I’m thinking its because he thought Mack was just corny or something. I don’t know, because Craig was pretty dope on that first album.

You peep Lil Cease? LOL!

Yo Gotti Billboard Taken Down After Protests In Memphis

](AllHipHop News) Yo Gotti was at the center of some minor controversy in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend.

Gotti was one of several local influential Memphis natives to be highlighted on a billboard promoting the Shelby County School System.

But the promotion featuring the rapper, who attended Trezevant High School, was short-lived.

According to reports, Gotti’s billboard came down just 24 hours after it was posted, after the school was flooded with complaints.

“The billboard isn’t an endorsement of Yo Gotti or his lyrics, but we wanted a figure in the community that kids could recognize and relate to,” a representative for Shelby County said in a statement.

Officials thought it was a good idea to showcase the rapper since Yo Gotti has been a strong supporter of his alma mater, and other local area high schools.

Hov was a guest on “The Van Jones Show” on CNN on Saturday.

“This is the leader of the free world speaking like this,” while labeling President Trump a “Superbug.”

Jay-Z’s comments drew condemnation from President Donald Trump, who responded in the usual fashion, via during Twitter early this morning (January 28), citing the low African-American unemployment rate in the country.
