(AllHipHop News) Hannibal Buress got jokes… for rapper Ja Rule.
Comedian Hannibal threw Ja Rule under the bus to launch his inaugural comedy/music festival.
Hannibal’s new Isola Fest is a three-day event being headlined by the Chicago comedian.
Guests like T-Pain, Flying Lotus and others will head to Isola in rural Mississippi, which has a population of 800 people.
Hannibal, who recently denied claims he was performing as MF Doom’s stand-in with Flying Lotus, had some fun at Ja Rule’s expense while promoting the Isola Fest.
The three-day event combines comedy, music, games, food and more under one roof at the “Playas Palace.”
Hannibal said the event may sound sketchy, but would be nothing like Ja’s failed Fyre Festival in The Bahamas.
“Isola is short for Isolation. I know this sounds like some Fyre Festival part 2 type situation but we have things pretty much in order, “Hannibal Buress explained. “Our sandwiches are just as equally trash as theirs though. Some things you just can’t control. This is the town my mother’s side of the family is from. My cousin owns a venue called Playaz Palace so I’m getting a deal on these nights.”
The full lineup for Hannibal Buress has Isola Fest includes T-Pain, Flying Lotus, Open Mike Eagle, Eryn Allen Kane, Serengeti, and Khris Royal.
Isola Fest takes place from December 13th – 15th. Tickets are available for purchase now and range from $30 – $100.

(AllHipHop Rumors) The Stallions were here for their turn up queen aka “Ms. Good Knees” Meg Thee Stallion and her rapper bae MoneyBagg Yo’s relationship.
Looks like the couple have officially called it quits. Well, at least that’s what their Instagram says.
The two have both unfollowed each other and they have not been spotted out together for some time now. I guess Meg is ready to enjoy her hot girl winter instead of being boo’d up doing this cuffing season.
Meg recently posted a freestyle on her Instagram subtly mentioning she’s single. “I’m 24 and single. Ain’t no ring on my finger,” she raps in a sexy glitter red dress.
According to the social media and the blogs, MoneyBagg was with another girl before he got with Meg and ended things with her so he could make it official with Thee Stallion.
The nameless woman posted pics of Money in bed with her followed by a long caption mentioning how in love she was with him and even how he allegedly said he’d “get her knocked off” if she mentioned anything about their past relationship. Ouch!
This didn’t sit well with Bagg as he took to twitter to express his frustration with whom he calls a “clout chaser.”
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Fly Havana is fighting hard for his piece of the hit hip-hop single “All The Way Up” by Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana, and Infrared.
The Miami rapper just replied to Fat Joe’s argument that an unsigned draft agreement is just as good as the one that was signed – and misplaced.
“As an author, he is entitled to a jury trial on his declarations of authorship alleged in the complaint, regardless of the contract’s validity,” Fly Havana’s lawyer Francis Malofiy said.
Fly Havana has maintained he was one of the original creators of the massively successful single “All The Way Up,” which has sold over 2 million copies and featured a remix with Jay-Z.
Fly Havana says Fat Joe attempted to squash the dispute amicably when they met up at an IHOP in March of 2016.
During the meeting Fat Joe gave Fly Havana $5,000 and a contract to sign.
The court drama became messy when Fly Havana disclosed he never asked for a copy of the original contract he endorsed, and Fat Joe told the judge he could not find a signed copy of the agreement either.
Fat Joe argued the acceptance of the $5,000 and the draft agreement he provided to the judge was enough proof to rule in his favor and have the lawsuit dismissed.
But Fly Havana’s latest filing seeks to bring Fat Joe’s argument all the way down.
First off, Fly Havana says the $5,000 Fat Joe gave him at the IHOP was not a payment but were royalties due for helping to create “All The Way Up,” which had already become a monster hit.
“The $5,000 is not valid consideration for this particular agreement because Defendants were already obligated to provide this money to Elliott as their co-author and co-owner before the IHOP meeting.”
Next up, Fly Havana’s lawyer said Fat Joe’s “draft” contract his lawyer presented as evidence is “plainly invalid” because it is not signed, and since the $5,000 was for royalties owed, there was no consideration between to make the contract binding.
“It is black-letter law that the payment of already obligated monies is not consideration,” Francis Malofiy argued.
Fly Havana and his lawyer are asking a judge to rule against Fat Joe’s motion to dismiss the “All The Way Up” lawsuit and order a trial by jury.
(AllHipHop News) Rap newcomer Megan Thee Stallion made Christmas come early for her grandmother by surprising her with the keys to a brand new truck.
The “Hot Girl Summer” star took to her Instagram page to share video footage from the emotional moment, which reduced her elderly relative to tears.
In the clip, the 24-year-old is shown arriving at a Cadillac dealership in Houston, Texas with her “nanny,” who she leads to a white vehicle adorned with a big red bow.
After realizing it’s a gift for her, she begins screaming with excitement and running towards the car, before turning to Megan in shock as she cries tears of joy.
The MC also posted a video featuring her smiling grandma sitting behind the wheel of the truck.
“Surprised my nanny with the brand new truck she had been wishing for!” Megan captioned the sweet post.
“She literally bought me everything in every color as a child. She’s always been so generous to everyone she meets and she taught me the importance of always being kind!”
“I love you nanny I’m gonna give you everything you deserve,” she added.
Megan was applauded for her generous gesture by her famous friends and fans, including fellow rapper Trina.
MCs Phonte and Big Pooh hail from Durham, North Carolina. They came into fruition alongside the talented 9th Wonder, but things didn’t pan out exactly as planned.
Allegedly, the three OGs chatted after their “Art of Cool” reunion show last year in Durham. But they mutually agreed it was best for LB to remain as a duo to rep the name Pooh and Phonte have carried since 2007.
Now, they return almost a whole decade later to unleash their first project since 2010’s critically-acclaimed Leftback, titled May the Lord Watch, via EMPIRE Records.
AllHipHop: How do you feel being lyrically sharp in a world where they often say lyrics don’t matter?
Phonte: Man… s##t. I feel like the kid that did the reading for the test and everybody else didn’t. I’m ready g######.
Pooh: [laughs] That’s funny. For me, I don’t feel a way. It’s just what I’ve always known. What I’ve always been told to do or known to do so I just do what I know. I don’t look at what other people are doing, I just know what I’m supposed to do and I get it done.
AllHipHop: Do you wish you could have rejoined with 9th Wonder?
Pooh: No. It didn’t work
Phonte: No. It didn’t work.
AllHipHop: Is there a possibility in him returning?
Both: No. It didn’t work.
Pooh: [chuckles] It’s just all no’s.
AllHipHop: Do you believe in Adult Contemporary Rap?
Phonte: Yeah, I mean it definitely is needed. The categorization is needed just to encompass all that hip-hop has become. Now that you have a lot of different lanes: you got the trap stuff, you got the vibe I guess whatever the young kids call it, then you have what we do and what cats in our lane does. I definitely think there’s a lane for what you would call adult contemporary hip-hop, just because no one thought that people in hip-hop would become adults. [chuckles] Nobody expected it to last this long so I definitely do think some categorization is needed to accomplish all the different lanes that you have.
Pooh: I believe in adult contemporary hip-hop and I believe that categories are necessary so people can see exactly what’s what. It prevents people from lumping everything in together and calling everything the same.
Phonte: Not just rap!
Pooh: You can see the different categories and know “okay I fit more here, as opposed to here.” I definitely think it’s necessary.
AllHipHop: How have you evolved since the early 2000s?
Pooh: I’ve evolved because I’m smarter. I don’t spend all my money on tennis shoes. [laughs] But nah, I’ve become a better artist. Just really taking the time to study the craft, work on the craft and get better. Allow constructive criticism into my life. That’s the only way you can really get better is when you allow the right people to critique what you’re doing so you can see, so you can step out. Because most people can’t step outside themselves to see what they need to improve on, so having that allows you to get better.
Phonte: He pretty much said it all.
AllHipHop: Do you still have a relationship with Beni B who signed y’all?
Phonte: No. We saw each other at the last show we did in the Bay. We saw him but no, we don’t have a relationship. He owe us money. He owe us bread.
Pooh: We don’t know. We in the process of counting it. He said he was going to make it right. I saw him, I looked that man dead in his eyes and was like “hey bro, you know what it is.” Not on no fighting s##t. I don’t like when people… if you owe me money and you can’t pay, you can’t pay it. But don’t try to talk to me like you don’t owe me money. Don’t try to talk to me like “hey man, how’s your family doing?” They’re doing pretty good but you know what would make them do even f##king better? I ain’t with all that s##t. Beni, he owes us money. He said he’s going to make it right, I’m going to hold that man to his word to make that s##t right.
AllHipHop: Phonte, has ghostwriting made you more money than traditional roads?
Phonte: First off, that’s a bogus ass question. I ain’t no ghostwriter. That’s an assumption that I ghostwrite, that’s poor journalistic practices. But you don’t f##king ask no question like that. I was working on TV shows and I was writing rhymes for the TV shows. I was credited for writing those rhymes. Working in TV and film has helped me… you know when you have to teach someone? There’s a phrase “learning through teaching.” When you have to teach a craft to someone, you really have to know it. When I‘d have to coach actors, when I was working on The Breaks for VH1 and also a new show I’m working on Sherman Showcase on IFC, having to teach someone something, you see how detailed it is. It helped me in that way. Whenever you have to explain something to someone, you have to know that s##t. [snaps] It makes you sharper.
AllHipHop: What is the role of humor in your music?
Pooh: It plays a big role, because we don’t take ourselves that seriously. You got to be able to laugh, laugh at yourself more importantly. We’ve always done that, humor is a big part of our life period. We never took ourselves serious to the point where it’s like “oh, we have to always walk around with ice grills and mean muggin everybody.” Then some of the music we grew up on had humor in it, so that’s strands of them in our DNA.
AllHipHop: What keeps you guys touring today?
Phonte: Just wanting to put a proper bow on our legacy I guess. There’s a difference when you’re doing things in your 20’s versus when you’re doing it now in our late 30’s and early 40’s. Now we have a better idea of who we are, what we want, and the way we want to do it. Now versus before, we were kind of at the mercy of other people and other entities, now we can truly curate the type of experience we want for us as well as the experience we want for our fans. Also to be able to do it with our family. Everybody on our team is all homies we came up with, so being able to create opportunities for them. Honestly for me, that’s been the most fulfilling part outside of me and Pooh rebuilding our relationship and our brotherhood. The most fulfilling part to me is being able to put our people on and put them in place.
Pooh: Create opportunities and experiences.
Phonte: Yeah, experiences together. Now, we actually get to hang out and s##t. Outside of the money or whatever, it’s really being able to put our people on.
Pooh: The money is nice.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?
Pooh: May the Lord Watch is out now. Stream it, buy it. Big up to Lute and the whole Dreamville squad. Big ups to them.
Phonte:littlebrothernc.com. Get the merch. Shout out to Lute. Big up to Lute on the Grammy nomination.

(AllHipHop News) It appears the ongoing saga involving Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon, and Eminem will continue into the near future. The latest installment in the narrative comes from Fat Joe and Dre’s new Family Ties album.
Eminem provided a verse on the track “Lord Above” which directly addresses the former married couple. The bars seem to be a response to Cannon’s recent interview on T.I.’s ExpediTIously podcast where the Wild ‘N Out host spoke about their ten-year feud over Mariah.
“I said, ‘I know I’m not gonna be able to out rap you, but I will whoop your ass.’ Those were the exact words at the time. Cooler heads prevailed,” Cannon told Tip in September.
Eminem fired back by rapping, “I know me and Mariah didn’t end on a high note. But that other dude’s whipped, that p*ssy got him neutered. Tried to tell him this chick’s a nut job before he got his jewels clipped. Almost got my caboose kicked? Fool, quit. You not gonna do sh*t. I let her chop my balls off too ‘fore I lost to you, Nick.”
“Lord Above” also features the legendary Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige. In addition, Fat Joe recruited Jeremih, Bryson Tiller, Cardi B, Anuel AA, Remy Ma, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lil Wayne for Family Ties.
“We got a classic, but the way you see the feature list, you might just think it’s a bunch of features. Some people get some features and put everything together. This album, it’s almost like Hamilton, to where ten years from now we could probably make a play of it,” said Joe about his latest LP.
Nick Cannon has reacted to Eminem’s verse on Fat Joe’s “Lord Above” song. He tweeted, “SCRAM SCRAM BLAM BLAM… NICK CANNON!! I don’t care what the world says, I think You still got it Marshall!
@Eminem.”
The “Gigolo” rapper also addressed Em in a video from his Power 106 radio show. Cannon posted the clip on Instagram with the caption, “Let’s Wild Out Marshall!!! @Eminem @mtvwildnout @NickCannonMornings In the MuthaFuk’n Santa Suit!!! .”
SCRAM SCRAM BLAM BLAM… NICK CANNON!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don’t care what the world says, I think You still got it Marshall! @Eminem
