Mac Miller Pulls Out Of Gigs To Support Ariana Grande

(AllHipHop News) Ariana Grande’s rapper boyfriend Mac Miller has pulled out of his weekend concerts to remain by the pop star’s side following the bombing outside her gig in Manchester, England.

A suicide bomber targeted Ariana’s fans as they exited her show at Manchester Arena on Monday night (May 22), killing 22 and injuring many others.

The “broken” “Side to Side” hitmaker flew back home to Boca Raton, Florida early on Tuesday to be comforted by her loved ones, including Mac, and now he has decided to take some time off in light of the tragedy.

He took to Twitter to alert fans to the change of schedule after pulling out of sets at Sasquatch Festival in Washington on Saturday (May 27) and Minnesota’s Soundset event on Sunday (May 28).

“Soundset and Sasquatch, I will not be performing this weekend,” he wrote. “Thank you for understanding. I’ll be back. Love always.”

The news emerged two days after Ariana’s representatives officially suspended her Dangerous Woman Tour until June 5 to allow the singer time to grieve.

Meanwhile, a father from Georgia, whose young daughters are fans of Ariana’s, has penned an open letter to the 23-year-old, urging her to “stay strong” and not blame herself for the bombing.

Patrick Millsaps shared the message on Twitter, and in the letter, he offers the singer some “redneck love” and declares, “You don’t have a dadgum (sic) thing to apologize for.

“You see, you are no more responsible for the actions of an insane coward who committed an evil act in your proximity than you would be for a devastating natural disaster or acts of morons near your hotel,” he writes.

He also encourages Ariana not to rush back to the stage: “Spend time with your God, your family and your friends who will give you space and support when you need it…” he continues.

Concluding the letter, he adds, “Take care of you first. Your fans aren’t going anywhere.”

Ariana has yet to directly respond to the heartfelt note, although she did share her first full statement with fans on Friday, vowing to return to Manchester to perform a benefit show for the bombing victims.

The Notorious B.I.G.’s Son CJ Wallace Is Working On An Album

(AllHipHop News) The Notorious B.I.G.’s son CJ Wallace is convinced it was “inevitable” he would follow in his father’s footsteps and forge a music career.

The 20-year-old, full name Christopher Jordan Wallace, was just a baby when his rapper father was shot in 1997 at the age of 24.

He is now embarking on his own music career part of a rap group CJ and Jahad alongside his younger half-brother Joshua Jahad Russaw.

The duo have been spending the past few months in the studio working on their debut album, which is set for release later in 2017, and Wallace admits he knew he would work in the music industry from early on.

“At a young age I always knew I wanted to do music, it was inevitable,” he told London’s Evening Standard. “My family have always had my back, whatever I’ve wanted to do they’ve supported. They were always giving me advice on what to do and how to go about things.”

Rather than feel pressure to fill his father’s shoes, Wallace insists being the rapper’s son “ends up being fuel for me, that’s my advantage.”

The interview comes just days after Wallace, who portrayed his father in 2009 biopic “Notorious,” took to the stage at the Billboard Music Awards with his dad’s friend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to celebrate what would have been the rapper’s 45th birthday.

“I know my father’s looking down on all of us tonight,” he said. “My sister and I will continue to carry on his memory with tremendous pride and live my life by his words.”

Wallace was raised by his singer mother Faith Evans and record company executive Todd Russaw, who she divorced in 2011.

(AllHipHop News) R&B star Toni Braxton has been hesitant to embrace her romance with rap mogul Bryan “Birdman” Williams because she is “scared to be happy”.

The “Un-break My Heart” hitmaker has been linked to the Cash Money Records boss for the past year, but in a new episode of her U.S. reality show “Braxton Family Values,” the 49-year-old singer admits she has been “anxious” about where the relationship is heading, because she doesn’t want things to get too serious too quickly.

“B called me the other day, yesterday actually, and he was just like, ‘T, I want you to hang out with me, whatever it is, let’s just do something,'” she revealed in a conversation with her sister Towanda.

“I have anxiety and bubbles in my tummy and stuff. I don’t know what’s going on with me.”

Toni goes on to explain the reason for her mixed feelings, confessing it’s been awhile since she’s felt real joy in her love life.

“You ever been scared to be happy?” she asked Towanda. “I haven’t been happy in a long time outside of work. Work brings me extreme happiness. When I’m on stage and I’m performing, that’s the only time that I get those butterflies and I feel totally happy with my life.

“(But) a romantic relationship? I haven’t had time for that – I should say, I chose not to make time for it, but it’s right here in front of my face: happiness.”

Although Toni isn’t completely sure where her budding romance with Birdman is headed, that didn’t stop the pair from making its public debut as a couple at the BET Awards last summer, when the stars happily posed together on the red carpet.

Toni has been largely single since separating from her now ex-husband Keri Lewis in 2009.

The former couple, which finalized its divorce in 2013, shares custody of its teenage sons Denim and Diezel.

Meanwhile, Birdman was most recently romantically linked to singer Keyshia Cole.

Fergie Leaves Black Eyed Peas and Taboo Isn’t Feeling It

(AllHipHop News) Pop star Fergie appears to have driven a wedge between herself and the Black Eyed Peas after forming her own record label.

Industry rumors suggest the singer has left Interscope Records to form a new company under BMG, and one of her bandmates seems to be far from happy.

Taboo unfollowed the “M.I.L.F. $” star on social media shortly after the new deal was announced.

He then posted a shot of the cover of the Black Eyed Peas’ 1998 album Behind The Front, which was released before Fergie joined the boys.

The cover shot features Taboo, will.i.am and Apl.de.ap.

While Taboo might not be in accord with his bandmate’s latest move, her former record label bosses have no hard feelings.

An Interscope source tells Variety, “The decision was made to part ways. We were all in concert and want what’s best for Fergie.”

Her long-awaited new album Double Dutchess is set for release this summer.

Meanwhile, the Black Eyed Peas announced an indefinite hiatus during a concert in England in July, 2011. They last performed together the following November.

will.i.am released two Peas songs to mark the group’s 20th anniversary in 2015, but neither featured Fergie, who joined the group in 2002.

Fergie has made her mark as a solo star in recent years, thanks to hits like “M.I.L.F. $,” “Fergalicious,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “London Bridge.”

The former “One Direction” star is certainly no stranger to a showbiz party, having attended his fair share of star-studded events over the years.

But while the majority of them are thoroughly enjoyable for Liam, he recalled one particular incident at a party when he introduced himself to Diddy, real name Sean Combs, that left him red-faced and mortified.

“‘It was like the most daunting celebrity experience that you could ever imagine,” Liam laughed. “I thought Diddy was a safe bet. Obviously I missed the mark a little bit!”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Travis Scott has landed a new gig as the face of Nike’s new sneaker campaign.

The “Goosebumps” star was shot modeling the upcoming Air VaporMax Day to Night collection for the new advertisements, and he reveals he got the chance to test out the shoes during one of his recent concerts.

“When I saw the all-black ones, I thought, ‘These are crazy!'” Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend told Highsnobiety.com. “They are comfortable and I was flying when I performed in them.”

The “Day to Night” designs will come in three different colourways when they hit retailers on June 1.

(AllHipHop News) Oscar winner Jamie Foxx was convinced his 2003 Kanye West and Twista collaboration, “Slow Jamz,” would bomb.

The “Ray” star was attempting to relaunch his singing career when he first met Kanye, then an up-and-coming rapper who had attended one of Jamie’s house parties in Los Angeles.

“I would throw parties just so I could get into music…,” he said on U.S. morning show “Live with Kelly and Ryan.” “I had a studio in my house, and when I had music people over, I said, ‘Leave some music in my studio,’ ’cause I was trying to get on.”

Among the guests to show up at Jamie’s bashes were Jay Z, Pharrell Williams, and a young Kanye, who, at the time, had just survived a car crash and had yet to release any solo material.

“In walks this kid with a backpack on, jaw’s a little busted; it’s Kanye West,” Jamie recalled. “I asked Kanye to perform, so he did this freestyle and I said, ‘Oh my God, you’re about to be bigger than life!'”

However, he wasn’t so sure about Kanye’s ability to make hits after hearing his proposal for “Slow Jamz,” during which he told Jamie not to turn the hook into an elaborate R&B tune.

“He said, ‘Don’t do that. Things have changed, just sing it simple,'” Foxx remembered. “So when I sing the song, I’m thinking in my mind, ‘This song ain’t gonna work’.”

But Kanye ended up proving Jamie wrong: “I do the song begrudgingly, leave and do a bad movie for six weeks, come back, (and) when I get back, my homie (friend) said, ‘You know that song you said was bad? It’s number one in the country!'”

The Grammy Award-nominated hit helped to put Jamie back on the map as a singer, and he went on to achieve his own musical success with his 2005 album Unpredictable, the follow-up to his debut release “Peep This,” back in 1994.

He also reconnected with Kanye in the studio for the Stronger hitmaker’s single “Gold Digger,” which won the 2006 Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.

Master P and Essence Make The Stars Align For Kids During Celebrity B-Ball Game

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop mogul Master P is doing his part to ensure the success of students in the state of New Orleans, through his nonprofit Team Hope NOLA.

The rapper and his nonprofit partnering up with Essence to promote a “Day of Service” during the magazine’s annual festival this June.

Master P will spearhead a huge celebrity basketball game, which will benefit local students in the state.

So far, Ray J, Trey Songz, Romeo Miller, Kidd Kidd, Juvenile, Mystikal, and Curren$y, along with former NBA players Chris Jackson, Robert Pack, Caron Butler and Ben Gordon have been confirmed as participants and players during the day.

“I reached out to some of my colleagues and friends and told them what we are doing to help raise money for the children in New Orleans and the response has been overwhelming,” Master P said. “It is extremely important to be able to help the young people from my hometown – these children are challenged with so much. This is just my way of giving back and we can have some family fun doing it.”

The charity basketball game will take place on June 29th, 2017 at 4PM at the Xavier University of Louisiana Convocation Center in New Orleans, LA.

Tickets will be open to the public and priced at $25.00 for General Admission and $100.00 for courtside seats.

Iggy Azalea Denies Bowling Alley Romance With O’Dell Beckham Jr.

(AllHipHop News) Iggy Azalea is denying rumors of a romance with American football star Odell Beckham Jr.

The Australian rapper insists she barely knows the New York Giants player, telling TMZ reports of them cozying up at a bowling alley outing are far fetched and untrue.

The 26-year-old was linked to Beckham Jr. after the two posed for a group photograph together during an event at the Bowlero bowling alley in Los Angeles on Monday (May 22).

“I literally don’t even know him,” the “Work” singer tells the celebrity news site. “He was at my friend’s party and we took a picture with a bunch of people. That’s it. I’ve not even had a conversation with him.”

The star also revealed that she has never seen the 24-year-old in action, because she doesn’t watch football.

“I saw Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl,” she adds. That’s it.”

The “Fancy” star isn’t the only celebrity Odell has been linked to – Khloe Kardashian previously shot down reports suggesting she was dating the Giants star.

Woman Who Was Beat With A Belt At 50 Cent’s Mansion Drops Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) A woman who alleged she was assaulted at 50 Cent’s Connecticut estate in 2009 has withdrawn a lawsuit she filed against the rapper.

Vasti Ortiz claimed she had been invited to the “In Da Club” hitmaker’s mansion in August, 2009, but while there, one of his employees, Dwayne McKenzie, allegedly made “awkward sexual requests” for oral sex.

She denied and tried to leave, but was reportedly attacked by another woman, named as Michelle Krzykowski, while McKenzie pinned her down.

50 Cent was not at home at the time of the altercation.

Ortiz managed to flee the property and seek medical treatment for a gash on her head, and filed a police report about the incident, which resulted in McKenzie and Krzykowski both being convicted of misdemeanor reckless endangerment.

They avoided jail time, but in 2011, Ortiz filed suit against 50 Cent and officials at his G-Unit Films and Television company, claiming they had failed to sufficiently carry out a “proper investigation into Dwayne McKenzie’s background before allowing him to act as an agent and employee of the defendant, G-Unit, at the mansion”.

McKenzie allegedly has a criminal history, which includes a felony charge involving illegal possession of a handgun.

The case remained open over the years, but on Wednesday (May 24), Ortiz withdrew the suit without any explanation.

According to The Associated Press, there is no evidence to suggest the two parties had reached a settlement or agreed to a financial payout.

Ortiz had originally been seeking an undisclosed amount for medical bills and damages.

Ice Cube To Release 25th Anniversary Edition Of ‘Death Certificate’ Album

(AllHipHop News) Ice Cube is ready to revisit one of the certified gems in his album catalog.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer is dropping a 25th-anniversary edition of his 1991 classic album Death Certificate.

“Still in a state of emergency. #DeathCertificate: 25th Anniversary Edition coming June 9th, with brand new music,” tweeted the West Coast representative.

News of the DC re-release comes along with reports that Cube signed a deal with Interscope Records.

“He’s obviously one of the legendary figures in hip-hop… that’s a massive statement on its own, but he’s so much more than that. Cube has an incredible body of work, and as a fan I’m honored to welcome him to the label,” stated Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman/CEO John Janick.

Death Certificate is often recognized as one of the greatest rap albums of all time.

The project included “Steady Mobbin’,” “True To The Game,” and the scathing diss track “No Vaseline.”

Besides releasing Death Certificate: 25 Anniversary Edition on June 9, Ice Cube is also prepping for the inaugural season of his BIG3 basketball league launching on June 25.

Statik Selektah Signs With Roc Nation Management, Announces Joint Album With 2 Chainz

(AllHipHop News) Statik Selektah became the latest Hip Hop representative to sign a deal with Roc Nation.

Billboard caught up with the Boston-bred producer to ask him about his new management partnership with Jay Z’s company.

“Honestly, I wanna pick my placement game up. I’ve worked with everybody from Eminem to 2 Chainz to Nas — a lot more recently with Nas. I’ve been in the studio with him,” explained Statik on signing with RN. “The next level to me is like being on every album that comes out that matters. I grew up looking up to DJ Premier, who would have the illest hip-hop joint on everybody’s album. That’s exactly what I want to do.”

Up next for Statik Selektah is an album titled 8 scheduled for release this summer.

His previous effort, 2015’s Lucky 7, featured appearances by regular collaborators Action Bronson and Joey Badass as well as Big K.R.I.T., Royce Da 5’9″, Talib Kweli, Ab-Soul, Dave East, and more.

8 is expected to feature Bada$$, Bronson, Termanology, Run the Jewels, The LOX, Wale, Black Thought, Raekwon, Freddie Gibbs, Westside Gunn, Conway, G-Eazy, Royce Da 5’9′, and Sean Price.

Statik also revealed he is working with 2 Chainz on a joint project.

“No one has ever done what he did with this project. First of all, he’s rapping like he’s from Brooklyn. It’s just very New York. Basically, a down South guy made a New York album, so I’m excited for that,” Selektah stated.

Over the last decade, Statik Selektah collaborated with artists like Termanology, Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, Jared Evan, Ransom, and KXNG Crooked for full bodies of work.

Wale Again Takes Aim At Tomi Lahren On Twitter

(AllHipHop News) Wale continued his takedown of controversial conservative Tomi Lahren.

A feud that began over a name drop on the record “Smile” played out on Twitter in April when Lahren snarkily wrote, “I’m gonna take the advice of [Wale] and just smile.”

Wale hit her back with a popular tweet that read, “Same phone who dis.”

The two later had a back-and-forth on the social media platform after the MMG rapper had  another song lyric about Tomi on “Shine Season.”

Earlier this week, Lahren attempted to show support for the scandal-plagued Donald Trump Administration by tweeting, “Question: how can you impeach him if he’s ‘not your president…?'”

Wale answered her by sending out a Friday inspired tweet that said, “How u get fired on your day off?”

The Shine album creator was referring to the fact that Lahren was fired from The Blaze following an appearance on The View in March.

“Why are you so obsessed with me?” posted Lahren in response to Wale’s tweet.

Bryson Tiller Drops ‘True To Self’ Album A Month Early

(AllHipHop News) Fans of Bryson Tiller were expecting his sophomore album, True To Self, to drop in June.

Instead of waiting until next month, the R&B singer decided to release the project overnight.

“i [sic] know we said June 23rd… but i [sic] say we Set it Off Tonight!! ALBUM OUT NOW,” posted Tiller on Twitter.

The 19-track LP does not have any featured artists.

True To Self follows 2015’s platinum- certified T R A P S O U L.

Drake’s OVO Partners With Clarks Originals To Release “Made In England” Desert Boots

(AllHipHop News) Drake’s October’s Very Own joined forces with British shoe manufacturer Clarks Originals for a new collaborative line of footwear.

According to the OVO blog, the “Made in England” collection features handcrafted desert boots made with premium quality Janus suede.

The phrase “Know Yourself” – from the Drake song of the same name – is printed inside of the tongue.

Each pair also features an OVO branded tag and insole, and consumers have the option of three colorways.

The OVO x Clarks Originals ‘Made in England’ Desert Boots are now available for purchase online.
