Spike Lee Answers Critics Of Chi-Raq

Spike Lee has a answered critics of his upcoming movie “Chi-Raq,” which caused an uproar online over the trailer.

Rappers like Lil Durk and Rhymefest were extremely vocal about the trailer, which appeared to make light of the intense violence in Chicago. Spike Lee, a native of Brooklyn, said the notion couldn’t be more wrong.

“The [Chi-Raq trailer] was released…and some people are getting it twisted and thinking that this is a comedy,” Lee said slow and deliberately. “Chi-Raq is not a comedy. Chi-Raq is a satire. And there is a difference between humor and comedy. In no way, shape or form are we not respectful of the situation that is happening in Chi-Raq. In no way, shape or form are we making light of the lives that have been murdered with this senseless violence. Don’t get it twisted. This film is about serious business. And there’s many films that we can look in the history of American cinema that treated a very serious subject matter that had humor in them. There’s an old statement: ‘I gotta laugh to keep from crying.’ I think that apropos for Chi-Raq.”

The movie features Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, John Cusack, La La Anthony and Jennifer Hudson, among others.

The astute athletic prowess of the New York Giants’, Dwayne Harris,  continues to earn him league distinction. Big Blue’s number 17 is leading the league in kickoff returns with an average of 34.1 yards. Effortless play as a wide receiver and on special teams continues to garner the Atlanta native attention from a pliable public.

Within this AllHipHop exclusive, Harris keeps it classy when talking about his overzealous supporters.  Although he doesn’t share specific names of the people sliding into his direct messages he does offer, “People — they’ll do anything for attention.” As the conversation continues the subject of dating celebrities arises. The former Cowboy prefers a chill woman sans the spotlight.

With the clip’s culmination, the discussion goes to forming a future with someone as opposed to friendly fornication. Check out the video and get Dwayne’s honest reply.

According to MGK, Eminem’s Shade 45 radio station will not allow him to appear on its programs. Kelly believes one of his old tweets about Slim Shady’s teenage daughter being “hot” led to him being banned by the company.

“I don’t get why I’m not on Shade 45. I’m a young man from the Midwest trying to f*cking speak for a bunch of degenerates just like a certain other person was,” stated MGK.

When Angela Yee suggested Eminem is very protective of his daughter, Kelly replied, “People don’t need to be famous then. You know what it is when you sign up for this thing. Your life is public.”

The “Till I Die” rhymer also revealed someone from Fader magazine sent an emailed to his team saying MGK would never be featured in the publication. Apparently, Rolling Stone magazine refused to review Kelly’s album and the Coachella Festival will not allow him to perform.

When you get the co-signs from both Kevin Gates ANNND Starlito on one song, you know that you might have a Southern street banger on your hands. On this track, Little Rock, Arkansas product Young Freq drops off his latest single “Fast Lane” from his new “Road To Perfection 2” project out now on LiveMixtapes.

For the money-motivated track, Freq calls up Gates and ‘Lito to contribute verses over the twangy beat. Luca Brasi’s alternates between singing rapping while Starlito follows up with a raw verse rapping, “Came up on the dumb s###, A-K with the J-clip, Tre-eight in the club wit’ me, You can show love, but don’t f*ck wit’ me.”

Freq drops the anchor verse to shut it down at the end, but this is a nice intro for those that don’t know Young Freq, who we have posted in the past.

“Dirty Dozen” by D12 [Video]

Even though it has been over a decade since their last proper album, Detroit Hip-Hop collective D12 has returned in a big way recently with the release of The Devil’s Night Mixtape.  And to accompany the momentum, Kuniva, Swifty, and Bizarre just dropped a dope black and white video for the Block Symfany-produced track, “Dirty Dozen.”

Kuniva opens the record by saying, “I swear on Big Proof I ain’t stopping.”  And thankfully, he didn’t.  The Dirty Dozen aren’t just back, but out to prove that they can compete with any remaining contemporaries as well as the newer generation of emcees that they undoubtedly influenced when they broke out on the national scene back in 2000.  Watch the video below!!!

Rick Ross’ Baby Mama Claims 50 Cent Is Stalking Her!

One of Rick Ross’s baby mama’s, Shonti, claims that 50 Cent is stalking her and her neighbors. According to Shonti, 50 hired a private investigator to trail her and follow her around after she won her lawsuit. According to her, the PI is also harassing her neighbors after 50 already embarrassed her in front of the whole world. Shonti also claims associates of 50 Cent are trying to follow her on her social media pages. Shonti has been going in on 50 Cent ever since she won her case and he was ordered to hand over millions. She says 50 is still trying to wiggle his way out of this one. Knowing that 50 is the King of PETTY, we could totally see him having someone stalk Shonti.

¡Mayday! On Jay Rock & Kutt Calhoun Leaving Tech N9ne’s Strange Music

When asked about different artists leaving Strange Music, Bernz, candidly commented, “Sometimes you can’t be in business forever.”  The eloquent MC understands that financial contracts end; but, true friendship and creative respect may last a lifetime. Both Kutt Calhoun and Jay Rock are two former Strange Music artists that were brought up during the discussion.

Back in 2013 Bloody Cutty dropped Black Gold. This was the same year he departed from his long-time label. The group then concedes that  Kutt now possesses a new opportunity to personally brand himself. Soon they shared the “obvious” reason that 90059 lyricist left the K.C., MO indie imprint. “TDE has their own deal now,” said Bernz before he added, “I can totally understand from a business point-of-view why Jay Rock left. I don’t think it’s anything personal.”

Strange Music still boasts an amazing array of gifted lyricists. The eclectic and evolving group, which recently wrapped-up their Future Vintage tour, then expressed their thoughts on Strange Music, “¡Mayday! is happy when it comes to Strange!”

Press play and check out what else was said about Kendrick Lamar, Tech N9ne’s shadow, and how being in Miami helps differentiate their creativity.

Rick Ross’ Baby Mama Roasts Lira Galore After Break Up

Photo via Lira Galore’s Instagram

Rick Ross’ second baby mama Tia Kemp just may be the Queen of PETTY. She refuses to let up on Rick Ross and his ex-fiancee Lira Galore. As soon as the news hit that Rick Ross & Lira were no longer together, Kemp could not wait to post petty memes. Kemp called Lira a thot and a clown. She also alleged that Lira smashed the homies. Perhaps she was referring to Lira being roasted for trying to talk to Meek Mill, Wale and Rozay. Kemp hopes that Ross will spend more time with their son since he has moved on from Lira. We all get the petty itch, but are Tia Kemp’s antics a little bit immature?

Chief Keef Claims Many Rappers Stole His Style

Photo via Chief Keef’s Instagram

Chief Keef has been making some interesting claims lately! Between dodging child support and claiming to have sex with veteran rapper’s baby mamas, Keef keeps some stuff going. Lately, Keef claims that he would need more than 10 fingers to name all of the people who stole his style. He seems to feel that people stole his style, flow, lingo, ad libs and sound. Is Keef even good enough to inspire anyone? Did Keef start a wave? Did Chief Keef influence the other drill rappers? Can you name at least 10 rappers that bit Keef?
