Big Boi Speaks On Key & Peele’s Outkast Sketch: “Funny, But Far From The Truth”

Outkast’s Big Boi joined HuffPost Live and shed light on the ‘Key & Peele’ sketch on his relationship with former Outkast member Andre 3000.

Big Boi: “The sketch was funny. Actually, I sent it to ‘Dre and we laughed about it… But it’s like fantasy, it’s far from the truth. We’re definitely in close contact.  We’ve been hanging out all summer without our boys doing things like going paintballing and top golf and being dads. We took our kids to go see the movie ‘Dope’ and things like that.”

Big Boi: “So, I guess if we’re not in the public eye making music people just don’t know. We’re brothers before music. We were brothers before this and we’re going to be brothers for life.”

Big Boi also discussed how Andre 3000 helped him with his new Big Grams album.

Big Boi: “What was really good was for me to have the chance to play him the Big Grams album and him just like, ‘Hey man, play it again,’ and you know while we were mixing, he was like, ‘I think you may need to turn this up,’ and … just giving me his input on it, as brothers. He digged the project and he’s proud of me and I appreciate it.”

The Game Could Be Arrested Over Radio Threats

According to Page Six, cops plan to arrest The Game over threatening comments he made on the radio about rival DJ Star. Apparently, DJ Star (Troi Torain) reported his rival’s threats to police, and Game faces arrest if he returns to New York. Game told the 105.1 FM morning show “The Breakfast Club” on Sept. 21 that he wanted to assault Star over a feud with one of Game’s friends, D.J. Envy. Torain seems to feel like Game is salty that he didn’t let him on his show. The Game is always in some drama!

EXCLUSIVE: The Game Speaks On The Controversy Regarding Him Liking Karrueche’s Pictures (VIDEO)

Chris Brown and Karrueche have been split up for a while but Breezy remains territorial and doesn’t want anyone blinking her way. After The Game double-tapped a few of her Instagram pictures, it was speculated that the “Liquor” singer was feeling a little salty. After TheShadeRoom.com revealed that Game liked a few pictures, they also showed Brown’s comment saying,  “Someone must have something they need to promote. It’s sad people need gimmicks to maintain fame. All pub is good pub I guess.”

It seemed like Game was responding to him when he took to his IG and posted “Keep throwing subliminals ni**a…We both know when it’s ME vs. YOU who gone come out on top punk…. I still owe you one for that s**t you pulled…We both know yo time coming blood.”

When Game sat down with AllHipHop CEO Chuck Creekmur, he couldn’t understand why liking a few pictures caused such a debacle on social media.

“Regular n—-s like Karrueche’s pics everyday. Is that poking fun at Chris Brown?,” he said. “On the same day I liked Karrueche’s pics I liked J. Lo’s pics, I liked Rihanna’s pics, a few of Beyonce’s, a few regular little thots but everybody picked Karrueche out of that and tried to star of war between Game and Chris.”

Is Travis Scott Dating This Model?

When it seemed like it was getting cozy between Travis Scott and Rihanna, rumor has it that Scott may also be involved with model Chantel Jeffries. Jeffries was featured in his “90210” video, and they say she goes to all of his shows and that they constantly throw subliminals via social media at each other. Ironically, she posted a subliminal message to her snapchat after Scott posted a photo on SnapChat saying, “When U Miss The GOAT.” Hmmmmmm these “on the low” relationships though. We shall see.

FRESH HEAT: Karega Bailey Ft. Real T@lk – “Last Kut” (VIDEO)

With Karega Bailey’s cross-country move from D.C. to Oakland complete, the emcee/poet/educator is back to work as not only the Director and Special Education/Performing Arts Coordinator of Roses in Concrete Community School, but also as a staunch preservationist of hip-hop culture. Bailey caught the attention of Public Enemy’s Chuck D in 2012 while they were both attending a conference in Atlanta. He’s been on the grind ever since.

His latest video for “Last Kut” bursts with classic hip-hop flavor and authentic musicality, including live horns. It also features a cameo from emcee Real T@lk, who Andre 3000 once called a “lyrical scientist.” The video shows Bailey and friends kicking it at the barber shop dressed to the 9s as they spit solid gold verses.

Simply put, “You only funky as your last kut is a reminder the work ethic and desire it took to get you there must be maintained to remain there,” Bailey explains. “And even then, no one remains ‘the one’ forever. Your last kut isn’t only a product of your work ethic and desire, it also includes what type of content you ingest that contributes to your output.”

With vocals from Brittany Tanner, direction from Bug Spray and production from Grap Luva/Roach Motel Films, “Last Kut” is a little bit A Tribe Called Quest, inspired by Outkast’s “Rosa Parks,” but overall another powerful statement from Bailey set to a flawless soundtrack everybody should rock.

Both Atlanta performer Young Thug and Shot 97 host Star took issue with something Game said, and now Lil Durk has responded to statements made during the Q&A as well.

Game was asked about his 2014 beef with Durk. According to the West Coast emcee, people are mistaken about an encounter the two rappers had at a party in Los Angeles.

“Everybody got that backwards. He was in L.A. at a Rick Ross party, and we found him,” said Game. “We went to him, and I saw Durk. He was a little guy.”

The “Remember” rhymer took to Twitter to address what Game had to say on The Breakfast Club. Apparently, Durk found Game’s version of the events comical.

DJ Drama Accused Of Sparking Drake/Meek Mill Beef?

So who exactly were the “higher ups” Drake accused of conspiring to take him down on “30 For 30 Freestyle.” Some people thought maybe it was a group headed by Jay Z that put the battery in Meek Mill’s back.

Remember Jay and Drake had their little t##-for-tat a while back over the whole rapping about art thing? Plus, Drake allegedly dropped out of Tidal at the last minute to team up with Jimmy Iovine over at Apple Music. ( “I got me a deal with Apple and I still feel entitled/feeling Tidal“).

Well, now there’s a new industry insider that’s being place at the center of the Drake/Meek feud – DJ Drama. The leader of Aphilliates Music Group was working to get Drizzy’s previous mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late to be a free Gangsta Grillz project, but Cash Money stepped in and shut that down.

So the word is Drama was the one that leaked the Quentin Miller reference tracks (retaliation?). That’s completely possible since most of the leaks were for songs on Drake’s IYRTITL.

DJ Drama1 DJ Drama2

Those tweets from Drama sure do seem to be directed at his fellow Philly native’s failed attempt to knock off Drake. Even Drizzy was confused by Meek’s lackluster attack.

He said in a recent interview, “This is how you want to play it? You guys didn’t think this through at all—nobody? You guys have high-ranking members watching over you. Nobody told you that this was a bad idea, to engage in this and not have something?”

Going by his lyrics, Drake appears to believe Drama played a role in Meek jumping out there. He had some bars on What A Time that mentioned Drama’s ex-wife Summer P Walker. The OVO leader spit, “If you come here trying to take some, there’s a lot more where that came from. And it really ain’t no thing, I got Summer P in this thing.”

SummerPWalkerThis all leads up to Meek Mill getting ready to drop his Dreamchasers 4 mixtape. Previous Dreamchasers installments were hosted by DJ Drama, and it will be interesting to see if he’s part of DC4.

So is DJ Drama the drama king behind Meek going to war with Drake? What do you think? Speak on it in the comments section.

MentPlus – “Stormy Nights” (EP)

Brooklyn-based deejay and producer MentPlus is excited to share his debut instrumental EP, Stormy Nights. The six-track effort takes listeners through a variety of sounds steeped in his long history as a beat-battle producer, and party starter in the Tri-state area.

From the brisk opener, “Whispering,” to the J Dilla-inspired slapper, “Dillacation,” Nights celebrates Ment’s focus on becoming an instrumentalist. Inspired by the likes of The RZA, Diamond D, DJ Premier, Madlib, and Flying Lotus, the EP serves as a commencement of his revived musical direction.

When he was crafting the EP, Ment wanted to add his own sound into the fold. “There’s a lot of producers who want to make songs without words, but I’m trying to establish myself as an instrumentalist, a producer, and a deejay,” he said. Stormy Nights is my way of conveying my own sound while giving everyone a beat they can really sink their teeth into.”

The project is now available through all major digital retailers through High Water Music. It’s a prequel to a full, 20-track instrumental LP due out in the very near future.

Watch A Grandmother Attempt To Read Lyrics From Drake & Future’s “Jumpman” (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Drake and Future currently have the number one album in the country with their joint effort What A Time To Be Alive. The project is set to push over 375,000 copies in its first week, but WATTBA has also gotten mixed reviews.

There is at least one elderly lady who is definitely not feeling the lyrics to track number 9 on the mixtape. The 3GoldenSistersTV YouTube channel had a grandmother read the lyrics to Drake and Future’s “Jumpman,” and the woman had a hard time deciphering exactly what the two rappers were trying to get across on the record.

“I don’t really want to know any of this stupid pop culture! I’m not interested in it,” she yells at the camera. “This is not Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett… That’s Drake and the Future. Jesus Drake, I’m really ashamed of you, because I know you’re smart.”

She later adds, “Give it up Drake.”

In all fairness, it’s highly unlikely Drake and Future’s target audience was the senior citizen crowd. What A Time To Be Alive is available on iTunes.
