Troy Ave kicked it with AHH this week and let us know why he’s major without a deal. Troy has decided to stay on the indie route for the start of his career instead of signing to a major. One would think it would be pressure on an artist with no major to try and resurrect the music scene of his home region. Especially NYC since its a never ending debate about how New York hip hop is dead.Currently the record “Doo doo” has been picking up popularity. When asked about the success of it he said “we independent so it aint nothing that we doing that you can predict..i dont really have expectations I just put my best foot forward. Troy ave’s independent album “Major Without A Deal” is coming this summer 2015.
Leo Brixx, a rapper/singer is repping the 757 is a dope up and coming emcee that bring more than just catchy hooks & ad-libs to catch the ears of the masses. This VA native knows how to put together a well-crafted songs and reels you in to his music through his striking visuals.
“Chances ain’t s–t if you don’t take one. Mansions full of b—hes, bout to rape one,” croons a voice that’s sounds very similar to Rich Homie Quan on the leaked song “Day 1.”
RHQ was caught up in a media firestorm after similar lyrics about sexually assaulting women were discovered on his track “I Made It.” Quan later apologized for the unfinished version of “I Made It” leaking to the public. But “Day 1” sounds like a finished record, and the rape lines are actually part of the song’s chorus.
The lyrics are probably gonna p### people off, but if Rich Homie Quan “keeps it real” in his music, this could turn out to be an even worse situation for the Atlanta rapper.
Check out the “Day 1” track and video of Rich Homie Quan’s interview with The Breakfast Club where he talked about his songs leaking.
(AllHipHop News) Young Money boss Lil Wayne was in St. Louis over the weekend to take part in the 4th annual LooseCannon Celebrity Basketball Game. Wayne lived up to the event’s name when he was caught on camera confronting a referee supposedly over bad calls.
The game was billed as “Slim’s LooseCannon Vs. Lil Wayne’s Young Money.” A portion of the proceeds went to the “Put Down The Pistol” campaign.
Video taken at the Chaifetz Arena shows Wayne attempting to confront a ref, but the rapper was held back by his team and others. Audience members can be heard asking, “Is he mad for real?”
This is not the first time Wayne has lost his cool at a sporting event. In 2013, the New Orleans native was caught on video cussing out a cameraman at DirecTV’s annual Beach Bowl football game. Then Wayne was seen trying to fight Marcos Maidana following the boxer’s bout against Floyd Mayweather in 2014.
Though not directly part of Wayne’s recent situation, Slim was previously involved in a videotaped altercation as well. In January, footage of the promoter in a brawl with R&B singer August Alsina hit the internet. That fight took place at the same venue during the “State of Emergency 2” non-violence concert.
Lil Wayne attended the 4th annual Celebrity Basketball Game between LooseCannon S.L.I.M. and Young Money at the Chafitz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.
During the game, Weezy got annoyed at the referee for bad calls and tried to start a fight before getting kicked out. Check out the footage..
(AllHipHop News) The ongoing struggle between Apple, Tidal, Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, and Rapsody for the streaming market has led to allegations of smear campaigns, sabotage, and backroom deals. As music streaming becomes this generation’s preferred method of consuming music, there is a lot of potential profits on the table for all of these competing companies.
In order to draw in users, the streaming services are each trying to add features to its particular brand. Tidal attempted to separate itself from the pack by offering high quality sound, exclusive content, and the idea of it being an “artist owned” service.
Several entertainers including Jay Z, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Daft Punk, J. Cole, Rihanna, and Usher were among the acts presented as part owners of Tidal. But many other notable superstars did not sign on as partners in the company. One of those being Drake.
Billboard Senior Branding Correspondent Andrew Hampp spoke with Bloomberg Business about Tidal and its rivals. Hampp claims Drake was close to joining Jay and the rest of the high-profile Tidal backers, but Apple executive Jimmy Iovine apparently convinced the “6 God” rapper to hold off.
“Apple has incredible marketing spend and brand power. Whenever they launch a new product, they go big. They’re spending a minimum of $100 million that first month,” said Hampp. “Tidal spent maybe $10 million marketing itself. There’s also the fact Jimmy Iovine has directly gone after all the artists who were supposed to be involved with Tidal. Drake was literally a Tidal partner until two days before the launch. Then he mysteriously disappeared.”
This revelation comes in conjunction with a New York Post report that claims Drake was offered $19 million to become a guest DJ on Apple’s iTunes Radio and other opportunities. Iovine reportedly joined Apple as a “special adviser” on creative matters after Apple bought Beats Electronics in 2014. Beats was founded by Iovine and Dr. Dre.
Jay Z briefly mentioned Iovine in his controversial “Tidal Freestyle” at the B-Sides Concert in New York City. The Tidal investor rapped, “Pharrell even told me go with the safest bet. Jimmy Iovine offered a safety net. Google dangled around a crazy check.”
What is wrong with Diddy? Is he going through his second childhood or is he just trolling the net? I can lie…this seems like something he would actually do. But dude is over 40 years old. I’m thinking he’s gonna let his college-age student live a little. He apparently jumped off a roof naked into a swimming pool.
Here is what he said saying sorry for his actions:
I wanted to publicly apologize to my son @princejdc for going to one of his parties at UCLA and embarrassing him by jumping from the top of the roof into the pool.! But naked. While his student body looked on and off. Mesmerized! Impressed! I’m sorry son! It will happen again! @princejdc
(AllHipHop News) First there was speculation Kanye West was partnering with Apple to launch the exclusive release of his next album Swish. Now there is talk that Drake could be signing on with the tech giant as well.
The New York Post reports Drizzy is speaking with Apple about joining the company as a guest DJ for iTunes Radio. The number of $19 million has apparently been thrown around during the discussions. Sources claim Pharrell Williams and David Guetta are possible partners as well.
According to the Post, Apple is also looking to one up its music streaming competitors by combining elements of Pandora, Spotify and YouTube. The new Apple Music roll out could include music and video streaming, artists’ pages, and a post-it-yourself platform called Apple Connect.
Apple jumped head first into the “streaming wars” when the corporation purchased Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s Beats Electronics for $3 billion last year. The buyout brought the streaming service Beats Music under the Apple umbrella.

(AllHipHop News) Two of the Hot Boys have reunited on a new cut. Turk recruited his New Orleans brethren Lil Wayne for the remix to his “You Mad Yet?” single. Before the YNT Empire founder drops the entire song, he gave his Instagram followers a taste of Weezy’s verse.
“This n*gga Wayne freestyled his whole verse,” wrote Turk on IG.
Besides working together again on new music, Turk and Wayne have other things in common at the moment. Both artists are in the midst of legal fights against their original music label Cash Money Records. Turk recently issued subpoenas to CMR’s parent company Universal Music Group and its publishing wing.
Hot Boys fans can expect the full “You Mad Yet? (Hot Boyz Remix)” to hit the Internet in the coming weeks. The cover for the single was chosen via an Instagram contest which included 3,200 entries. The winning artwork was created by IG user @GalvanOscar13.
(AllHipHop News) Last week reports began circulating claiming if Sony Music’s pending licensing negotiations with Tidal were unsuccessful then the streaming platform could lose Beyoncé’s and other Sony artists’ discographies. That lost would have been a major embarrassment for the service considering the singer is a part owner and the wife of the company’s public face Jay Z.
Sony Music CEO Doug Morris spoke with Billboard about the possibility that Tidal users may not be able to listen to the former Destiny Child member’s albums such as Dangerously In Love and Beyoncé. According to Morris, the Bey Hive should not worry about Tidal loosing their favorite performer. He publicly announced his support for Tidal and Jay Z as well.
“Jay Z is a friend and business associate for many years,” stated Morris. “I have always admired his business acumen, his entrepreneurship and his passion for music. All of our content, including Beyoncé, is available through the Tidal service, and we have announced no plans to remove our catalog from Tidal. Like all of our other partners, we are rooting for Jay and Tidal to succeed.”
Tidal and Sony are still negotiating terms for the use of the corporation’s extensive catalog of music. The Verge recently obtained a copy of Sony’s contract with the Tidal competitor Spotify. The documents showed that Spotify paid $42.5 million in advances to Sony, and Sony was guaranteed a “Most Favored Nation” clause. That addition ensured Sony would maintain a better deal with Spotify than other music companies for the length of their contract.
It was also discovered that Spotify pays $0.00225 – $0.0025 per stream from the 30 million users (75% of all users) of its free service. After a Tidal representative revealed to AllHipHop.com that their service pays out a royalty per stream of $0.024 – $0.028, it was determined Tidal’s $9.99 or $19.99 tiers’ royalty payouts are nearly ten times the amount of Spotify’s no cost tier.

You may have heard there is a new art exhibit that will be centered on Gucci Mane.
The exhibit opened on Saturday May 30. On May 31, Young Thug posted the picture of his face with the Gucci Tat. Our sources have indicated that the “tattoo” was some sort of temporary situation from the Gucci art jammie jam.
Young Thug has apparently gotten a new tattoo to express his adoration of embattled rapper Gucci Mane.
In 2011, Gucci Mane got an Ice Cream cone tatted on is face and today Young Thug put his on display by way of instagram.
With the pic, Thugger said, “#Freeguwop I REALLY LOVE AND MISS U…..!
There is a possibility that the tat is temporary, but there has been no indication either way by Thug.
