Twista Among Chicago Hip Hop Artists Uniting For “Voice Of The Streetz” Stop The Violence Movement (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) The city of Chicago has been battling excessive violence in its streets for years. Some Hip Hop acts like Kanye West, Common, and Chance The Rapper have made efforts to support the young people of their hometown, and now a new collection of rappers and singers are coming together to help end the bloodshed in the Windy City.

The “Voice of the Streetz” movement was started by Rawle Stewart. The manager of platinum-selling performer Twista began the community outreach effort after his friend/Lil Durk’s manager Chino Dolla was killed in March.

The artists will travel to six different neighborhoods in Chicago. Instead of performing, the participants will hold town hall like meetings to get insight from the residents about the issues plaguing the community. Twista is among the rappers participating in the campaign.

“Anytime a person has a positive sparkle, a spark in his head to do something to stop something that’s bad happening, especially kids getting killed in the streets and people shooting and things like that, I mean, anything to stop something like that is a good time,” Twista told FOX 32.

Other Chicago acts that have signed on for “Voice of the Streetz” include Stunt Taylor and Dancer D Low. Fifty-five people attended the first meeting in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood. More dates/locations will be announced in the near future.

Turk Discusses Cash Money/No Limit Beef (Video)

(AllHipHop News) For years, there have been reports about the supposed tension between New Orleans founded record labels Cash Money and No Limit. Both brands rose to national prominence in the late 1990’s, but there was never a major crossover effort between the Cash Money Billionaires and the No Limit Soldiers.

No Limit captain Master P bridged that longstanding gap when he recruited Cash Money artist Lil Wayne for his “Power” single. Then Turk, formerly of the Cash Money group Hot Boys, also connected with P for his “Wodie” remix. Turk recently spoke with DJ Vlad about finally working with the “Make Em Say Uhh!” rapper.

“I always wanted to work with P, but the powers that be didn’t allow it,” said Turk.

He was asked about the assumed feud between the respective CMB and No Limit rosters. According to Turk, the issues were likely between the companies’ CEOs, not the performers.

“I wouldn’t say the artists didn’t get along. I would say probably P and [Cash Money co-founder] Baby probably had their reasons why we never did anything together,” added Turk. “I don’t know what it was.”

Besides Master P, Turk also states he always wanted to collaborate with C-Murder and Mia X. The YNT Empire leader suggested if the two labels had united at the time of their climb the combination could have been unstoppable.

The fundraising event is being held to help raise money for Mumia’s legal fight. The 60-year-old author was sentenced to death in 1982 for the death of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner. Numerous organizations such as Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund have challenged the conviction on the grounds Mumia did not receive a fair trial.

According to reports, Mumia has become critically ill in recent weeks. He spent several days in the intensive care unit at a hospital before being transferred back to the SCI Mahanoy correctional facility. There is concern the prison is not equipped to adequately care for Mumia’s condition.

Tickets for the #BringMumiaHome benefit concert are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All proceeds go to the Bring Mumia Home campaign.

Rebel Diaz is also working with artists and activists across the country to stage rallies in support of Mumia on April 24 and April 25. For more information visit bringmumiahome.com.

“Mumia has been locked up as long as most of us have been alive. He is the voice of the voiceless. He has been our generation’s Nelson Mandela,” RodStarz from Rebel Diaz tells AllHipHop.com. “Here we have a freedom fighter locked up behind bars, yet his revolutionary spirit has given all of us inspiration to keep working for a better tomorrow.”

50 Cent has taken many shots at Diddy lately about his loyalty, sexuality, brands and more. It seems like Diddy is finally taking a subliminal shot at 50 by saying:

“You know who I am and you know what I do! You will never beat me! I’m going to show you how great I am!

Is This Why Big Sean Broke Up With Ariana Grande?

Photo by Jon Kopaloff Film Magic/ Getty Images

Apparently it was Big Sean who broke up with Ariana Grande and it wasn’t really over tour schedules. Sources say the downfall of their relationship started in February, when he made the most important appearance of his career at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. Kanye, Justin Bieber, J-Lo, Chris Brown, Jay Z, A$AP Rocky, Tyga, Kylie and Kendall Jenner all showed up. Everyone showed up except Grande. Allegedly she didn’t show up because she needed to get ready for the Grammy’s the next day, which he found extremely selfish. Sean reportedly traveled to see Grande “10 times more” than she traveled to see him and asked him to spend thousands of dollars to take private jets to come see her. It’s been said that Big Sean felt that Grande was a spendthrift, but was still open to reconciliation right before Grande “let” Justin Bieber grab her from behind. Allegedly he felt the whole thing with Bieber was calculated.
