Former DJ, Jerome Howard, has created Phanzr.com, a website that helps artists connect directly with their fans while having the opportunity to obtain more data. Unlike similar sites such as SoundCloud etc., Phanzr is a music analytic site with a powerful platform that allows artists to personally reach out and interact with their fans on a personal level. These interactions include an artist being able to text and e-mail fans any information from where there next performances will be to what new music they will be dropping while obtaining more data about their fans such as gender, age and race even down to a fans specific location. Artists who join this site will also receive custom pages and custom links for promotional purposes and keep 100% of all digital sales of their content. Phanzr.com was founded November 2013, and with 350 users, was recognized as one of SXSW 2014 Start-up Spotlight companies. Howard believes that if the artist has the ability to control their data while communicating directly with those who support them, then that would create a better music experience for both the artist and the fan which will help the independent music entertainment industry as a whole.
This site will help artist identify their return on investment. With closer access to the data of the fans, Phanzr will help an artist see how their money is spent using actual data. “Often times you see artists selling or posting their music in various places. That could be by handing out demos; posting on various websites and to never see their mixtapes again or only view the number of plays/downloads (which can be misleading)” say’s Howard. Here with Phanzr.com, an artist will receive 100% from purchases within hours, be able to track where their content is being played and who all is listening. This control enables artists to identify market opportunities at the click of a button. Most importantly, Phanzr will provide data that will help artists to make more strategic decisions that will catapult them to success.
“All artists must understand that they’re a business. And like any other business, the better connection with fans increases brand loyalty. And all that data belongs to you. You shouldn’t give it away for free just to sell a single or album. It’s more valuable than you may think.” -Jerome
An emerging artist by the name of Tish is taking over the internets right now and not for nothing!
Tish’s eclectic voice has been eliciting comparisons to the likes of Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill and for the very best of reasons! The New York born singer’s style is gritty, heartfelt and human.
When she sings, it’s from a place of strength and you feel every single syllable of the words she’s projecting. In a world full of auto-tuned garbage, Tish is a breath of fresh and much needed air. But don’t just take our word for it…take a listen to her first single “Subway Art” below and see for yourself!
See we told ya! We look forward to hearing a lot more of this artist soon!

“No Taxes 2” is a collaborative effort to say the least. The project is hosted by DJ Bigga Rankin, DJ Scream, DJ Holiday, DJ Tokars, DJ Blak and popular Atlanta radio personality Ferrari Simmons. While the majority of the project is produced by their in-house producer Buddha Bless, the Atlanta collective also tapped some major names for the mixtape. J-Real is set for the ultimate turn up experience on his forthcoming birthday. The California born performer will drop his next album Born Day on March 10 in celebration of the date of his birth.
Born Day will include the party anthem “Buckwild.” The Bryan Rivera assisted tune symbolizes J-Real’s affinity to mix elements of Hip Hop and Pop into his tracks. His goal is to spread good time vibes through his music.
That calling began at the age of 14 when J-Real heard Ma$e’s 1997 album Harlem World. Despite his father not believing he could live off being a rap star, a 15-year-old Real signed to Landmine/Collipark as a member of the group Young N Heartless. The trio was eventually dropped from the label, but the teenage entertainer set out on his own.
In 2011, J-Real released the indie album I Am J-Real, and 2014 saw the arrival of the TheyCallMeReal EP. His catalog also comprises of mixtape tracks featuring Travis Porter, Rich Boy, and Gorilla Zoe.
J-Real’s drive and determination to succeed in this rap game eventually converted his dad into a believer, and he is now looking to draw in more followers with Born Day. But first, J-Real participated in AllHipHop.com’s “Three Questions” interview series.
If you could have any three things in the world for your birthday this year, what would you choose?
If I could have three things in the whole world for my birthday this year, they would be to have a #1 selling album on iTunes, have my own tour and travel across the world, and gain millions of fans.
F**k, Marry, Collab: Azealia Banks, Tinashe, K. Michelle?
That’s a great question! I would f**k Azealia, marry Tinashe, and do a collab with K. Michelle.
What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever experienced at a party?
You may or may not believe me, but I got head from a p### star as a part of a contest.
(AllHipHop News) Last week incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda called into Hot 97 to talk about his current legal situation. The phone call was abruptly cut short, and the Brooklyn native did not get to relay everything he wanted to the station’s audience. Turns out the call was not cut off by the jail’s authorities like previously suspected, and Shmurda was able to speak with Ebro In The Morning again today.
For the latest conversation, fellow GS9 crew member Rowdy Rebel was also on the line. Rowdy explained the conflict over Epic Records not providing bail money was really centered around an issue from the label’s parent company Sony. He and Shmurda also denied Bobby’s supposed uncle Debo Wilson offered to help them get out on bail.
“That n***a’s not even my real uncle,” said Shmurda. “That’s the n***a that’s always trying to rob me of some s**t. That’s a lying as n***a.”
Wilson was part of Shmurda’s original management team but has since become estranged from the rapper. The “Hot N***a” performer revealed he is looking for new representation and wants another New York City rapper to join his team.
“I’ve been trying to get in contact with 50 for the longest for some management,” Bobby stated.
Shmurda later added he feels racism has played a part in the police targeting him. When asked if anything he has done contributed to him being locked up, Smurda replied, “Nothing, except say hi and bye to people. Probably take a couple of pictures with people. That’s it.

South Side of Chicago brothers Sayyi and Ro$$ Mac collab on the new single “What We Doin”. The song was produced by Grammy-nominated hitmaker Soundz (Foreign– Trey Songz, Throw Sum Mo– Rae Sremmurd/ Nicki Minaj), “What We Doin'” is already gaining traction across the country. Ro$$ stated that he and Sayyi were at his in-house-studio back in Chicago (both home for Christmas). “We had been wanting to get back in the studio together for awhile but our tight schedules never seemed to coincide– Sayyi was always on the road traveling with Jeremih and I was in NY working,” said Ro$$. “So, that night (about 2 days after Christmas) we decided to not go out and instead started going through beats. When we came across this one in particular by Soundz, we knew it was some heat! We just started vibin and it eventually turned into ‘What We Doin’,” stated Ro$$. Although these two are reppin’ Chicago, the song seems to have some dirty south influence. Take a listen below.
Did you know that Ice-T has a crazy dope Podcast called Final Level with Mick Benzo? Yeah, the podcast is dope and he has exceptional conversations. The last interview he did was with Busta Rhymes! In the interview he talk beef with Jimmy Iovine, his tenure on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Records, his coming up and so much more! But…he mentioned really fast that he’s looking to do something with them again in the future! What does this mean? I have already heard some rumors…but what could it be? You may not know it, but those guys had some serious beef back in the day that prevented them from working to gather for decades. It wasn’t the “Im’a kill you beef,” but they just couldn’t f**k with each other like that. The podcast is long, but very worthy. Check it out below.
Welp if Erica Mena is one of your Ratchet Love and Hip-Hop New York faves you may want to start looking for another.
The reality star has had enough and decided to skip out on the reunion opting to celebrate her sons’ birthday in Florida.
Mena feels that since she’s about to become Bow’s wifey, she has a certain image to uphold.
Bossip reports:
““A lot of people cast this season were cast because of beef with her,” a source close to Shad Moss’ fiancé told Bossip, noting that Chrissy, Cyn Santana and Jhonni Blaze all had problems with Mena. “Erica was pretty much sick of the deflecting and the projecting of off other people’s negativity.”
Mena also has a history of turning up at the Love and Hip Hop reunion shows. Just last year, she laid hands on former cast member Nya Lee. With Blaze and others gunning to fight her, Mena simply decided she’s not about that life.
“She’s about to be somebody’s wife,” the source told Bossip, “and she didn’t want to put herself in the type of space where that could happen.”
Mena skipped shooting the Love and Hip Hop New York reunion Tuesday, and instead went to Florida to celebrate her son’s birthday. Mena and show creator Mona Scott-Young privately filmed her portion of the reunion last week.”

(AllHipHop News) Some Hip Hop followers were surprised to find out veteran rapper Juvenile decided to sign back with Cash Money Records after the label has been accused for years of not properly compensating its artists. Juve stopped by The Breakfast Club this week, and the New Orleans rhymer addressed his return to Cash Money.
“We worked it out. They cut the check,” stated Juvenile. “It’s a matter of lawyers sitting at the table. Lawyers are gonna do their thing, and we’re gonna do our thing outside of it. They worked it out.”
When Juve first rose to prominence in the late 1990’s he teamed with fellow Cash Money artists Lil Wayne, Young Turk, and B.G. to form the group Hot Boys. Both Wayne and Turk are now suing the company for past royalties. Juvenile briefly gave his views on Wayne’s legal battle against CMB.
“I just stay out the way,” Juvenile said. “It ain’t my position to even give advice. I’m gonna stay out of that. They’ve been rocking together tough and tight for some years, so it’s gotta be something they can work out.”
Oh Kim K! Apparently Kimmy Kakes doesn’t like to read captions. Kim Kardashian tried to call out jeweler Ben Baller on his Instagram page for having fake Yeezy Boosts. Kim wrote under a picture Baller posted saying “These don’t come in black. They are fakes.” Baller replied saying “You could have texted me or emailed me. They were custom made by @d_preme not fake Smh.” Let’s be honest Kim K was petty for that, she must’ve been reaching and seeking attention as usual. We’re pretty sure someone at Ben Baller’s status wouldn’t have fake Yeezys. He even stated in the caption that the boosts were custom dyed black.
