(AllHipHop News) Tidal is continuing to revamp its product and its image. Besides reportedly bringing Lil Wayne on board as the newest “artist owner”, the company has also launched a desktop version and student discount option.
Variety reports Tidal users can now access the platform via a Windows and Mac OS X desktop app. The streaming service is also providing users with a valid .edu email address the chance to pay half the price for both the $9.99 tier and premium $19.99 tier.
While Tidal is in a very public battle with Apple for consumers and artist involvement, the new desktop app allows users to wirelessly stream music to their Apple devices or any AirPlay-capable speaker. It provides seamless playback capability as well.
Tidal has also partnered with Ticketmaster to allow users to purchase tickets for musicians’ upcoming tours. Fans will be able to buy the tickets directly from the Tidal site.
Part owners Jay Z, J. Cole, and Jack White have all lived stream concerts via Tidal over the last few months. Musical icon Prince also streamed his Baltimore show on Tidal. The service previously announced its Tidal X: Discovery program will include a series of nationwide concerts featuring up-and-coming artists.
Dougie F previously tasted success with the release of his single “Back Up On It” and he has been creating waves ever since Diplo added him to the Mad Decent roster. The move catapulted the New Jersey native’s single, helping it amass over 1 million plays on SoundCloud.
Looking to keep his stock high, Dougie F is currently preparing the release of a solo effort titled Block Party. The newest sounds off the aforementioned project come in the form of the Reno-produced single “Last Night” — a slow-winding, brass-laden cut that sounds like it was effortlessly created.

(AllHipHop News) Damon Dash may have told The Breakfast Club he was done talking about Jay Z during their classic confrontational interview in March, but that did not stop Dame from bringing up Jay while recently speaking with Boyce Watkins.
Watkins asked Dame why he would always go on stage at shows even though he was never interested in rapping. The founder of Poppington Academy explained his reasoning and ended the exchange by mentioning the quality of Jay’s early performances.
“You’ll do anything for your business. Even things you don’t like doing. I didn’t like being on stage. I hated it,” said Dash. “Jay had no presence on that stage. He was terrible on stage – no personality.”
Dame went on to claim part of Jay’s current success at concerts has to do with the fact the Brooklyn emcee has a catalog of hit songs. He added his Roc-A-Fella Records business partner was introverted, and early on in his career Jay needed him to bring energy to the performance.

(AllHipHop News) If Lil B’s curse against NBA star James Harden was the reason the guard played so poorly in the final game of the Rockets-Warriors series, apparently Harden was not aware he was under The BasedGod’s hex. In fact, Harden claims he does not even know Lil B existed.
TMZ Sports caught up with Harden in Los Angeles, and the cameraman asked him about supposedly being jinxed for stealing Lil B’s cooking dance. The 3-time All-Star responded by saying he was not aware of the “curse.”
“I don’t even know what happened,” answered Harden. “I mean, I don’t know who that is.”
Of course, B had more to say about Harden after finding out he was dissed on video. He took to Twitter to respond. Fellow Bay Area rapper Kreayshawn and Sports Nation also jumped into the social media situation by posting old tweets from Harden that suggests he was knowledgeable of Lil B.
I will be speaking with " The BasedGod " today about James harden since he claims he doesn't no who Lil B is, so quaint forgive him – Lil B

Karrine “Superhead” Steffans is not a fan of Christina Milian! Although Steffans and Lil’ Wayne are no longer together, she revealed previously that she would never stop seeing Wayne. Recently, she explained that she had to stop messing with Lil’ Wayne around the time when Wayne and Milian did a bad performance/collaboration. She subliminally called Milian a bum and a has-been. Karrine also seems to believe Lil’ Wayne did some of his best work when they were together. Superhead is something else.
(AllHipHop News) Rock legend Rod Stewart may have appeared on “Everyday” off A$AP Rocky’s latest album, but don’t expect the two artists to join forces on a full project. Rocky made a comment about dropping a mixtape with Stewart during an interview with Vulture. Word of a pending A$AP-Stewart collaborative project spread around the internet, but it turns out the “L$D” rhymer was just joking.
Rocky addressed the Born To Be Pretty mixtape reports on Twitter:
THE ROD STEWART MIXTAPE WAS SAID AS A JOKE , AS FUNNY AND INTERESTING AS IT WOULD BE, UNFORTUNATELY, "BORN TO BE PRETTY" IS NOT REAL, LOL

Even though the A$AP Mob member killed the story of him working on a full effort with Stewart, Rocky did announce another project titled Cozy Tapes Vol 1 is in the works.
COZY TAPES VOL.1…….. COMING ASAP !!! RIP YAM$

When rumors started flying that Kanye West was ready to break from Tidal and team up with Apple, people were asking: Why would Ye jump ship from his bro Jay Z’s new company to go partner with his rival? Well, new rumors may explain exactly why Kanye could be switching teams.
RELATED: Kanye West Breaking With Jay Z’s Tidal, Ready To Release Album With Apple Music?
The Internet is buzzing with talk that Ye could be getting nearly $200 million (twice his reported net worth) in a deal with Apple. The situation is also said to involve Apple releasing Kanye’s SWISH album for free and Apple buying stake in Kanye’s creative design company DONDA.
It gets even messier when you realize that DONDA entered into a partnership with Jay’s Roc Nation a few years back and Kanye is signed to the Roc’s management wing.
To be clear, this is all rumor at the moment, but Apple is holding its big annual event next week and a lot of huge news is expected to come out then. We’ll have to wait and see if a Kanye/Apple partnership is on the agenda.

After releasing his new single “Glory” via TIDAL, it has been announced that Lil’ Wayne has joined the streaming service as an artist owner, according to reports.
“We’re honored for Lil Wayne to join TIDAL,” said TIDAL executive Vania Schlogel. “His eagerness to release an exclusive TIDAL track and schedule a TIDAL X performance is just another example of how passionately artists care about getting their music to fans.”
No details on the TIDAL X performance as of yet. TIDAL is trying to build a reputation for being the first to release exclusive music and videos. Since Weezy’s Free Weezy Album has not been released yet after he said it would drop in March, it is possible that it may be released via the streaming service.
Other artist owners include J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Madonna.
Idris Elba recently flexed on wax. He hopped in the booth and spit a few bars on the remix of UK rapper Skepta’s remix of “Shutdown.” On the track he boasted about some of his most famous roles, including his role in The Wire as Stringer Bell and as Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
“See that Wire? Shut it down/ Ain’t nobody else selling brown/ Ain’t nobody else Stringer Bell/ Boy from the East End did well.?You see Mandela when I shut it down/Ain’t nobody else touching that,” he raps.
Elba isn’t new to the music scene though. He released an album last year that was inspired by his time in Africa shooting Mandela, titled mi Mandela. He’s also been DJing for years and has also produced for K. Michelle and collaborated with Pharoah Monche.

Seems that Stew and Ross were chatting up Snoop Dogg and the hip hop legend decided to start partaking in some smoke. At least that’s what he says happened. He also says he shotgunned the smoke directly into Martha’s mouth, but I find that hard to believe. She might have a filthy mouth every other day of the week, but that’s her dirt and her filth. Foreign dirt is not her thing, I would assume.
