Ty Dolla $ign Talks Meeting Diddy While High On Mushrooms, Kendrick Lamar And More

The folks over at Montreality caught up with Ty Dolla $ign to talk about the usual stuff, like his jobs as a teenager, favorite cartoon characters, who or what he was in a past lifetime and all that jazz. The Taylor Gang rep also spoke about the first time he met Diddy, which didn’t go as planned due to Mr. $ign tripping on mushrooms.  The green-eyed bandit gushed about his collaboration with TDE emcee Kendrick Lamar, describing it as heartfelt and deeming it an anthem. Watch him talk about his favorite video games, the most romantic thing he has ever done and what his message to the youth is below.

Yung Berg’s Manager Claims “Hit Maka” Is A Gay?

People be on that dumb stuff in 2014. Being gay isn’t even considered strange anymore, but this is where we are. Yung Berg’s manager – and hopefully ex-manager – is calling him out and saying that the “hit maka” was caught having sex with a teenage boy. Now, that’s what people should be concerned with in all reality. Nevertheless, most people are fixated on the gay part. I am not sure why the manager would have reason to lie, but this is the scoop.

HipHollywood put the word out.

“Breaking news @hitmaka aka #YungBerg is now an exposed homosexual… Walked in the studio and seen some s### I didn’t want to see….. He’s out the closet!”, Wack posted with this image of Yung.

After doing a bit of digging, it seems as though 100 is insinuating something went down between Berg and Keyshia Cole’s nephew, but the young man is denying anything happened. Known as “CeeJayy The Promoter”, the “son of a celebrity”, as he put it (Keyshia’s sister Neffie is his mother), claims that Wack100 is just a hater.

WHAT EVER YOU HEARD IS NOT TRU AT ALL ITS BULLSH*T NOTHING EVER HAPPENED MY BRO @hitmaka IS NOT GAY UNDERSTAND PPL JUST WANNA HATE FOR NO REASON F*CK WHAT YOU HEARD #YungBerg #FAMLIY

My Five Firsts: Snoh Aalegra

Veteran producer No I.D. has forged classic records alongside Hip Hop luminaries Common, Jay Z, Kanye West, Nas, and Drake. So when the Cocaine 80s member attaches his name to a rising artist, the recipient receives a powerful co-sign from one of the most accomplished musicians in the entertainment business.

Snoh Allegra is one of the performers to be blessed with the No I.D. endorsement, but the singer-songwriter is not just the production master’s sidekick. Snoh’s own enchanting musical presentation is earning her a serious buzz in the industry.

Hailing from a 40,000-person town outside Stockholm, Snoh initially learned to speak English by watching American television programs such as The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and Beverly Hills 90210 and by listening to Disney movie soundtracks. It was that love for American culture that led Snoh to write her first English-language song before she even reached her teen years.

By the age of 14, Snoh was signed to a label deal in her home country. That situation did not work out, but she eventually met No I.D. through a family connection. After hearing the music Snoh was working on, No I.D. decided to add her to the Sony wing of ARTium Records – joining a camp that also comprises of Jhené Aiko, Elijah Blake, Vince Staples, and Common in the Def Jam division.

Snoh even teamed with ARTium crew member Common for the track “Hustle Harder” off the Chicago rapper’s 2014 album Nobody’s Smiling. She further introduced her vocal talents on her debut EP There Will Be Sunshine released in November.

In the latest edition of AllHipHop.com’s “My Five Firsts,” Snoh recalls some of the memorable moments from her life and career including learning from No I.D., getting a verse from Common, and experiencing the music of Michael Jackson and Lauryn Hill.

First Time Performing A Song You Wrote Live

I wrote my first song when I was 9 years old. Funny enough, it was in English, but at that age English wasn’t even my second language. I’m Persian, so I was speaking Farsi and Swedish the best. I was still learning English. But I did my attempt. [laughs]

I wrote this love song. It didn’t make any sense of what love is. It was totally grammatically incorrect. The title was “Take A Ride In The Heaven.” It was so stupid. [laughs] I think a year or two after, I performed that song at a talent show, and I won. I think it was a defining moment for me. I knew I wanted to continue to write songs. Though I’ve gotten way better. [laughs]

First Time Visiting America

I visited L.A. I was here on a working trip, but not with the camp I’m with now. I remember coming to L.A. not thinking at all it was like the movies. It was so different from what I imagined. The first time I went to New York I thought, “This is exactly like the movies.” Even the sound of the sirens in the background, the buildings, everything was just like I imagined.

L.A. was so different. But L.A. has now become home to me. It’s like my second home, and I enjoy it. It’s a totally different vibe from Sweden. Everyone is so nice here. Not saying that they’re not nice in Sweden. We’re kind of closed off. We’re not as open. I notice here when you walk in a shop people say, “Oh my god, I love your jeans. You look amazing.” They’re overly friendly. I love people over here.

[In Sweden] it’s ingrained in our minds from an early age that you’re not allowed to compete and think you’re better than anyone. At least, you’re not allowed to verbalize it. So that was a thing that really hit me in the face when I came to the States where everybody has this different attitude like “I’m the s**t.” They really show it. I walk in a room kind of reserved, and people are like, “What’s wrong with you? Why aren’t you owning it?” Swedish people are reserved and maybe more humble than people over here in the States.

First Time Recording With No I.D.

I would like to talk about the first time he vocal produced for me which was amazing. I had no idea he could vocal produce. He actually vocal produced me on the ballad “You Always Knew.” When I first recorded that song I sang it totally different. I recorded the vocal, and he would tell me, “Can you please talk the lyrics more on top of the piano as if you’re talking with somebody?” Then he would tell me, ” Add more melody to what you’re saying.”

He would do it gradually and just guide me to make me sound the way I sound on that record. It was amazing, because how it sounded on the demo and how it ended up sounding on the album was totally different. He showed me a different way of singing. I had no idea he could do that. That’s a moment I really remember working with him. He’s amazing at painting a picture, and he really wants to know what the song means and what I want to say with the song.

I vocal produce all my songs myself, but that was the one song he did with me. He opened a different space for me. It helped me to sing from a different place.

First Time Finding Out Common Recorded A Verse For “Bad Things”

I wasn’t even in the studio when he did that. I was in Sweden. I was visiting my family. No I.D. was working on the beat, and I had already laid my vocals. Common was also working on Nobody’s Smiling at the same time in the studio.

It was the first time [Common] heard “Bad Things.” He walked in the room and said, “What is this beat? What is she saying? I’m really into what she’s saying. I want to jump on this.” When he was done No I.D. called me and said, “Oh by the way, Common jumped on your track, just so you know.” I said, “What?!” I was so happy and surprised.

I’m open to doing features, but I want it to happen organically. I never want No I.D. to call someone and say, “I got this girl here. Can you jump on her song?” I don’t believe in that. I want the person to want to be on the track. Otherwise they won’t give their all, and I don’t believe it would be good chemistry. It has to be the right feature for the right song. So it made me super happy that Common wanted to jump on that.

When I first heard Common’s verse, obviously I was like, “Wow. This is amazing.” It was this weird feeling in my body. I was very honored, because No I.D. and Common are both legends. I’m just a girl from Sweden. [laughs]

First Time Hearing Michael Jackson’s Dangerous and Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill

I remember I had Michael Jackson’s Dangerous on cassette. I used to play that and dance to that all the time. I remember I just wanted to be like him. To me, he was just magic. It was something about listening to his music that made me dream of being in a totally different world.

With Lauryn Hill, I remember that album very well. I was in high school. I listened to all the lyrics thinking “this woman is educating us. This is like nothing I‘ve ever heard. To this day, the album is still one of the best albums of all time. I still listen to it and hear details that I really appreciate and learn from. As a woman, I look up to her so much. She has so much integrity in her music. There’s nobody like her. There’s nobody like Michael Jackson either. It’s timeless art from both of them.

Rapper Facing Life Sentence Over Rap Lyrics Pleads Not Guilty; Trial Set For January

The rapper who is facing life in prison because of his rap lyrics has reportedly pleaded not guilty to gang conspiracy charges. Tiny Doo, who is gang affiliated, is facing charges under a California law that allows for the prosecution of gang members if they benefit from or promote the crimes of other gang members. It is believed that Tiny benefited from his fellow gang members’ activities because it helped them gain street credibility, which allegedly boosted Duncan’s record sales.

Tiny Doo, born Brandon Duncan, is accused of involvement in nine local shootings between May 2013 and February 2014. The music being targeted by the prosecutor is Tiny’s album No Safetywhich was released in February of this year. Though it was released months ago, the album was recorded in 2012.

“They’re charging Brandon Duncan with crimes that the District Attorney admits that he had no involvement in or even knowledge of. That is the definition of injustice,” defense attorney Brian Watkins told FOX News.

The San Diego rapper appeared in court Dec. 4th and his trial is set to begin on Jan. 23rd. More than a dozen other gang members are also being charged.

This is not Duncan’s first run-in with the law. In 2008, he was charged with pimping and pandering, but those charges were later dropped.

Duncan, 33,  has been rapping since he was 14 and has previously worked with Lil’ Wayne.

Chris Rock Says Karlie Redd Of 'Love And Hip-Hop Atlanta' Is In 'Top Five' And Calls DJ Envy An A**hole

Chris Rock made his debut on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to talk about his self-directed film Top Five. Though they chopped it up about the movie, it wouldn’t be a proper Chris Rock conversation if they didn’t talk about the state of racial relations, especially with the Eric Garner and Mike Brown decision.  DJ Envy was noticeably missing after refusing to be there to interview Rock due to a clash they had at their daughters’  basketball team. Read and watch the sit-down to see why he and Envy are at odds, how Karlie Redd got a role in Top Five and more.

Top Five is due in theaters Dec. 12th.

Chris Rock and DJ Envy’s beef

“He’s an a###### that guy. Envy coaches his daughter’s team. His daughter’s good then there’s another girl on the team that’s like Shaq or whatever. She’s ridiculous. They’re beating my daughter’s team by like 40. There’s three minutes in the game. Take Shaq out, you know? I’m not saying lose the game, but money come on! Let the girls who don’t normally play get a chance but he kept Shaq in the whole game!” Rock says that after the game Envy said his team wanted a picture and he responded “No. You’re coach is an a######.”

Top Five And Karlie Redd’s Role

“I’m not a movie star. I’m a guy that’s in movies. It’d be nice to have a signature movie. I don’t have a signature movie of ones that I starred in. New Jack City is a signature. The Grown Ups movie’s a hit. I’ve been in hits…I need you you to feel the way you feel about I Think I Love My Wife but also have a hit…I think I got it on this one…Karlie Redd (Love and Hip Hop Atlanta) is in the funniest scene in the movie. Karlie Redd’s nude in the movie. She auditioned. I had never seen the show. She was just really good for the part.”

On Eric Garner and Mike Brown

“Nothing I say is going to be new and revolutionary. I don’t like to be boring. The real question is “How come no white guys ever get shot? It doesn’t appear to be that common.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Chris Brown Vs. Plies?

Breezy was deep in his feelings Saturday night and his now ex-girlfriend Karrueche wasn’t the only one who felt the wrath.

Plies tweeted Sunday afternoon “If U tell a female business just when you get mad U a f*** n****.” I highly doubt this tweet was to Breezy.

Well some messy Chris Brown fan decided to instigate and alert Brown to the tweet, who responded with:

I highly doubt Plies was even referring to the Chris and Karrueche shenanigans. Just unnecessary beef. SMH.

Cyndi Lauper Praises 50 Cent For His Evolution On LGBT Issues

(AllHipHop News) Queens rapper 50 Cent has faced backlash for perceived anti-gay remarks throughout his career. He has used the word “f****t” in his songs, and in a 2012 interview with Vibe 50 said, “We need organizations for straight men in the case you’ve been on the elevator and somebody decides they want to grab your little buns.”

[ALSO READ: 50 Cent’s Son Marquise Jackson Shows Off His B-Ball Skills In Highlight Reel (VIDEO)]

He also caught heat in 2010 for tweeting soon after a rash of publicized gay teen suicides, “If you a man and your over 25 and you don’t eat p***y just kill your self damn it. The world will be a better place. Lol.’ Then earlier this year, the G-Unit leader was criticized for suggested Diddy, Rick Ross, and Steve Stoute were gay because they were photographed hugging each other.

50 later denied ever being homophobic. He explained using the word “f****t” in music to The Wrap, “I don’t have homophobia. I never did… I would use the terminology that would be going around. You’ve got people that would call some people a redneck, or some people n***a. It’s the term of that time or that period. They’re not necessarily racist, but they’ve heard those terms used around them, and they use them.”

The Animal Ambition album creator’s evolution on the subject has earned him praise from one well-known LGBT advocate. Cyndi Lauper recently championed 50 Cent’s support for the gay community. Lauper tapped 50 to appear at her 4th annual “Home For The Holidays” benefit concert over the weekend. The pop music icon spoke with Buzzfeed last week about including the rapper in the show.

Buzzfeed reports:

Asked about sharing the stage with 50 Cent, who once suggested on Twitter that gay men should “just kill your self damn it,” [event speaker Daniella] Carter welcomed him. “A lot of LGBT youth come from urban backgrounds,” she said. Carter said they want to see a “black heterosexual male showing that he supports us,” and prove that “masculinity is not attached to sexual identity.”

This weekend’s concert includes Patty Griffin, Salt-N-Pepa, and a raft of other musical icons. But asked who is most surprising to have join her on stage, Lauper said, “50, god bless him — he’s a good guy.”

“People evolve,” Lauper went on. “That is what you have to leave yourself open for. You change the world when you change your mind.”

Not everyone backed 50 taking part in the “Home For The Holidays” concert. Radio personality Star chided the media mogul for his decision to perform at the charity event for homeless LGBT youth.

“50 and G-unit are headlining some f**king gay-lesbian concert,” said Star during his show in October. “The f**kery that G-Unit is now doing.”

Is There Footage of Diddy Punching Drake Over Cassie?

UPDATE: Drake allegedly dislocated his arm. There are two versions to this story. One is that Diddy dislocated the arm in the fracas with Drizzy, but there is another rumor side. That is Drake dislocated his shoulder running away from Diddy and ran into a door, dislocating his arm from his shoulder. Wild!

There’s a lot going on in Rumor Land. The latest is that Diddy punched or slapped fire out of Drake for trying to flirt with Cassie. There are already sources trying to say this never happened, but I am like Heavy D, “Uh Uhn…I don’t agree with them.” I am hearing that there is video of the whole ordeal when it happened at Club LIV in Miami last night. Seemed like Drake pushed his luck a bit and kept flirting with Cassie. Now, Drake may not know but he shouldn’t mess with Diddy or his girl. People are making a big deal of Drake stealing girls, but if he’s stealing them you gotta protect yo’ cookies better. That’s what prompted Diddy to do what he allegedly did, I guess.

Now, lets see that tape, which I am told is probably being sold to TMZ as this is being typed.

Drake Associate Claims He Never Dated Chris Brown's Ex; CB Apologizes To Karrueche

(AllHipHop News) The ongoing relationship saga between Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran took over the Internet this weekend when Chris claimed Karrueche cheated on him with his sometime collaborator, sometime rival Drake. Brown used his Instagram page to blast Karrueche for allegedly dating Drake while he was in jail.

[ALSO READ: Things Get Worse Between Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran]

A source tells TMZ that the allegations are not true. Apparently, Karrueche did meet with Drizzy in Toronto, but only because she was friends with a woman Drake was dating at the time. According to the source, Drake was not even interested in Karrueche because she is “not his type.”

“Drake’s an ass man. Think about it, all the strippers he gets with … the first out of his type was Rihanna,” the unnamed person told the website.

Meanwhile, Brown returned to IG to offer an apology to Karrueche. In the caption for the picture below, Chris wrote:

Being young and dumb is one of my strong suits and emotional at best. I love hard and react impulsively when I’m hurt at times. I don’t think social media is a place to air out or hash out personal problems and a n**a feel hella WACK for doing it. So I AM APOLOGIZING I live in a glass house and the same s**t that makes me great also is my curse. Everybody know I love that girl. I don’t care how my image my look to the public because I’m still gonna be the best at what I do. I just want baby girl to know I apologize!

A photo posted by BREEZY (@chrisbrownofficial) on

Karrueche has not publicly responded to Chris’ apology yet, but the model did use her Twitter account to dispel another rumor connected to her.

N.Y. Knicks Player Iman Shumpert Explains His Real Issues With Charlamagne Tha God & DJ Envy

(AllHipHop News) Last month New York Knicks player Iman Shumpert took a break from the court to jump in the booth. The four-year NBA veteran dropped the track “#HowtoHate” which included a few lines directed at The Breakfast Club hosts Charlamagne Tha God & DJ Envy.

Complex caught up with Shumpert and asked the 24-year-old guard about his issues with Charlamagne and Envy. According to Shump, his biggest issue with the radio personalities was not over any disses about his music. Iman says it was Envy’s claim that he was an “ass” to a group of children after a Knicks game that bothered him the most.

“DJ Envy said that after a game we had an autograph signing – which after games we don’t do autographs signings,” explained Shumpert. “First of all DJ Envy, don’t make something up. If you had record of that, if you know me the way you’re sitting here talking about it, then at the autograph signing that you saw me do this, how about you pull me to the side and tell me to stop doing that to these kids.”

Shumpert added that he “loves kids” and other Knicks players like Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith will leave him to handle interacting with the youth.

“I felt like they were throwing salt on my brand for no reason,” stated Shumpert. “If you’re going to make fun of me, make fun of my hair Charlamagne, cool. You wanna joke around [about how] the Knicks lost, cool. But when you start saying I’m being rude to kids, DJ Envy, come on man. I don’t even know you like that.”
