(AllHipHop News) It appears the fifth time was the charm for Wiz Khalifa. The Atlantic Records rap star’s latest album, Blacc Hollywood, will open in the number one spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. This gives Wiz his first chart topper.
Blacc Hollywood sold around 90,000 units in its opening week. While those numbers were lower than the first week totals for his previous major label LPs Rolling Papers (197,000) and O.N.I.F.C. (148,000), they were enough to land Wiz at number one above the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack.
Wiz’s Blacc Hollywood joins Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron and Rick Ross’s Mastermind as the only rap albums to reach number one on the Billboard 200 in 2014.
Last year at this time there were five different rap artists that held the number one album in the country at some point – A$AP Rocky (Long. Live. A$AP), Kanye West (Yeezus), Wale (The Gifted), J. Cole (Born Sinner), and Jay Z (Magna Carta Holy Grail).
(AllHipHop News) Los Angeles emcee The Game collected over a dozen artists for his tribute song dedicated to Michael Brown, the unarmed teenager gunned down by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.
“Don’t Shoot” features Diddy, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Wale, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Yo Gotti, Curren$y, Problem, King Pharaoh, Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank.

These funds will not be used for legal fees; all funds will be given to the family of Michael Brown. We appreciate your support.
I didn’t know either Joey, but now I do. The homey MC Brainz didn’t like something that Joe Budden said in a song. I honestly feel super lame, because I had no idea. Now that I do…lets get into it.
Uh…back in the day…Joe said:
These MC’s is lame, I try to be a MC with brains These n##### is MC Brains
This song, “Family Reunion,” is really old. I don’t know what the hell, b. Why MC Brains just now decided to respond. But, here it it.
This is weird to me. Uhm…I can’t really condone this…Joe “dissed” Brains in 07-08 and now…in 2014, he replies.
Here is MC Brains hit song from back in the day. He wasn’t really known as a battle dude. More pop-like/New Jack Swing.
R&B crooner Usher has had a successful year, decade, well actually a successful two decades. He even celebrated the 10 year anniversary for his most successful album yet, the fan favorite Confessions this year. Sunday he delivered an electrifying performance at the MTV VMAs as well. Usher has announced that he has an upcoming album and stadium tour. The album – titled UR is almost complete, so it only makes sense for the Prince of R&B to go on tour.
The tour promo shot in black and white, shows the star training, dancing and preparing for what seems to be an another epic concert series. The tour dates haven’t been announced, but we will keep you in the loop as soon as they are.
Earlier today Logic premiered “Driving Ms. Daisy”, featuring Childish Gambino, with Billboard. The song is also produced by Logic and will be featured on his debut album coming later this fall on Def Jam.
(AllHipHop Features) It was revealed this week that battle rap veteran Dizaster is set to meet Philadelphia emcee Cassidy in a face-off later this year.
Diz has made quite a name for himself in the culture. Besides his million plus viewed matches against DNA, Arsonal, and Loonie, the West Coast native has also made headlines for being one of the initial contestants in the Total Slaughter tournament, his Twitter beef with Lupe Fiasco, and the KOTD-banning fight with Math Hoffa. But it is the infamous 2012 “notepad” battle against acclaimed lyricist Canibus that garnered him widespread exposure.
As Dizaster prepares for what could be the biggest battle of his career, Hip Hop fans can find out which past match-ups are some of his favorites. Diz also shares his battle rap Mount Rushmore, his personal favorite emcee of all time, and what other top Hip Hop star he wants to see face-to-face in the ring.

Do You Prefer To Participate In A Debatable Battle Or A Clear Victory?
A debatable battle. It creates more talk, longevity for the battle’s life. It’s more of a classic. Everybody wins. I hate hurting people’s feelings, because I’ve done it for too long.
Where Do You See Battle Rap Going In The Future?
Surpassing the industry. I see it getting bigger, becoming like boxing with getting pay-per-view fights, and becoming a huge part of Hip Hop.
We were introduced to Sisqo‘s gritty soulful vocals in the late 90s with the emergence of R&B group Dru Hill. Don’t call it a comeback!! Sisqo has a new release, an auto-tuned club track featuring Waka Flocka Flame called “A-List”. It’s catchy and upbeat. It has a different feel to it than his classic “Thong Song.” It’s more like a Trey Songz “Na Na” etc record. It definitely could become a club banger. It has a good party feel to it, but most R&B fans and Sisqo fans (myself included) always want to hear Sisqo’s uniquely soulful vocals at all times. LOL.
Take a listen below.
The video for “A-List” is on the way as well. Check out the teaser below.
Also if you are feeling nostalgic we got you covered with old Dru Hill and Sisqo classics below.
Whether you’re finessin’ to or blowing on KK, you’ve probably heard one of these albums that’s dropped last week. Wiz Khalifa released his highly anticipated third album Black Hollywood, following Grand Hustle signee and GOOD Beats producer Travi$ Scott’s free album Days Before Rodeo. Both projects have been sought out by fans and music lovers alike, but which one is better? Does Blacc Hollywood highlight the best of Wiz’s beloved sound? Or, does Days Before Rodeo upsets as the underdog? We’ll give you the characteristics of both projects and our conclusion, but it’s up to you to decide which is better.
Production: There’s two types of sounds being heard in Blacc Hollywood. There’s the hard-hitting beats from songs like “Hope”, “Raw”, and “No Gain”, and then there’s “Staying Out All Night”.Wiz brought in a smaller number of producers for Blacc Hollywood, including I.D. Labs, Sledgren, Jim Jonson, and Stargate to name a few. The Pittsburg rapper has a more aggressive sound this time around, but you get the glimpses of pop within tracks like the Nicki Minaj featured song “Staying Out All Night”, and “So High”. Though the beats are aggressive, Blacc Hollywood’s is a bit light-hearted. Days Before Rodeo on the other hand, gives you are darker vibe along with it’s raw southern sound. The production crew behind Scott’s album features a solid list of the hottest producers in the south, including Metro Boomin, Lex Luger, FKi, and legendary producer, Mike Dean. Canadian producers Wondagurl and DJ Dahl also have their hand on the project with songs “Mamacita” and “Days Before Rodeo: The Prayer”. The beats on this album are cold, and with Travi$ Scott’s odd and sinister vibe through the lyrics and beats, it takes the music on Days Before Rodeo to another level.
Lyrics: Due to Travi$ Scott’s flow, which fits a lot better in his production than Wiz’s, Days Before Rodeo is better in the rap realm then Blacc Hollywood. Let’s get this out the way, both of these rappers aren’t giving you metaphors and similes. However, Wiz and Scott’s style rapping their verses are the key factor in their projects. If you’ve heard Wiz, you know that he has dope flows with the vocals to back it up. Unfortunately, it feels a bit played out halfway through his new album. By the time you get to Travi$ edges out Wiz by with his style of mixing his charisma with auto-tune vocals in his raps. Sure, this has been done before, but it sounds great. The single off of Days Before Rodeo “Don’t Play” is a solid example of the strength in Scott’s raps. It sounds a bit familiar to his previous project Owl Pharaoh, but still delivers.
Replayability: Blacc Hollywoodhas its fair set of jams, but when comparing replayability with Days Before Rodeo, it doesn’t stack up. Wiz’s album starts out hard with “Hope” feat. Ty$ with popular radio hit “We Dem Boyz” following up. However, it gets played out and redundant hallway through the album. With Day Before Rodeo, Travis Scott has a solid track list to keep the album on replay. Though a lot of the songs shows a more darker side of southern raps, songs like “Backyard” and “Grey” slows the vibe down to end the project. Both artists’ set features were solid. Wiz brought in different members of Taylor Gang (i.e. Juicy J, Chevy Woods, etc.) and even teamed up with Nicki Minaj. Travi$ Scott, on the other hand, recruited the hottest rappers in the south, including Migos, Young Thug, and Rich Homie Quan. The production of songs like Mamacita gives off a different vibe to Travi$’style of music.
All in All, Days Before Rodeo beat out Blacc Hollywood. Wiz Khalifa might have the more popular album, when it came to the quality and sound of his music, it seemed way too different from the sound he had reached superstardom with. With insane production and a southern flow, Days Before Rodeo was put on far more than Blacc Hollywood. Travi$ Scott wins this by a land slide by us. Which album did you think was better, vote below and see what the people thought.

(AllHipHop News) You miss Andre 3000? It may be time to let go of that longing as well as him. In a recent interview, the reclusive Outkast member explains how the upcoming Jimi Hendrix film saved him from depression, retiring at 40 and more.
There has not been much news of Andre 3000’s personal life since Outkast stopped releasing music following 2008’s Idlewild soundtrack. Both of Andre’s parents died nine months apart, with his mother Sharon Benjamin-Hod passing away one day after his 38th birthday. In his interview with The New York Times, Andre explains how his reclusive behavior fostered a level of depression that his acting in the upcoming Jimi Hendrix film helped with:
Honestly, I needed it in my life, too. Hendrix kind of saved me. I was in a not-so-great space, just in a dark place every day. I needed something to focus on to get me out of my depression and rut. Sometimes, when you’re alone, you can let yourself go. I knew if I got on a train with a lot of different people, then I couldn’t let them down.
Jay Z, Eminem, Nas and numerous other MC’s are still releasing music into their 40’s. While Andre says he still loves music, the 39 year old MC has no intentions of rapping past 40:
I remember, at like 25, saying, ‘I don’t want to be a 40-year-old rapper.’ I’m 39 now, and I’m still standing by that. I’m such a fan that I don’t want to infiltrate it with old blood.
Outkast’s first concert in years was at this year’s Coachella Music Festival, where onlookers noticed Andre 3000’s seemingly aloof performance. The suspicions were correct as Andre explains that he was not fully invested in the performance:
My head wasn’t there. I kind of fluffed through rehearsals. A few hours before the Coachella show, I get a message that Prince and Paul McCartney are going to be there. My spirit is not right, and idols are standing side-stage, so as the show started, I’m bummed. This is horrible. In my mind I was already gone to my hotel room halfway through.
(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has been attached to the paparazzi since birth. During the deposition of the lawsuit between paparazzi photographer Daniel Ramos and Kanye West, West reveals his father’s past photography history.
Back in March, Kanye West pleaded no contest to a civil lawsuit from paparazzi photographer Daniel Ramos, whom he had a physical altercation with outside of LAX airport in July 2013. During the deposition stage of the civil lawsuit, West revealed to Ramos’ lawyer Nate Goldberg that his father was also a paparazzo:
‘My father was a paparazzo himself. My father was a medical illustrator, a Black Panther, a Christian marriage counselor,
Perhaps more shocking than that admission is West explaining how paparazzi members have helped him against the law. According to West, paparazzi photographers have kept him from breaking the law on numerous occasions:
The paparazzi watch my car and makes sure that cops don’t give me tickets. There are some nice guys out here trying to just feed their family.
While West pleaded no contest, he does maintain that he did not assault the photographer. West explains he “tried to stop his camera and stuff, he fell down, faked it and everyone was saying “Why did you hit this guy?” I didn’t hit him.”
West was sentenced to two years of probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions and 250 hours of community service following his no contest plea.

(AllHipHop News) At this point, TV networks are missing out on a 50 Cent comedy TV show. Earlier today (August 27th) 50 Cent continued his social media war with his “brother” Floyd Mayweather Jr by writing a highly misspelled love letter to Tameka “Tiny” Harris from Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The feud between Mayweather Jr and 50 Cent seemed to die down after the G-Unit general admitted during an interview with Angie Martinez that Mayweather Jr could read and he does not want to hurt him. Hours later, 50 Cent released a picture on his personal Instagram of a misspelled love letter to T.I.’s wife:
The caption of the Instagram photograph stated that Mayweather Jr has been neglecting his family members and specificially names his sisters Fannie Orr and Deltricia Tawanna Howard. Later in the caption, 50 Cent issues a fighting challenge to Mayweather Jr by writing “If you want to fight I’ll be in Vegas next”:
@floydmayweather I love you like a brother. Call fanny, and tawana your sister’s love your crazy ass.check on Devon you are forgetting the people who matter boy. If you want to fight I’ll be in Vegas nextweek.#SMSaudio
