Well lookie here. Somebody has a handful of Amber and it ain’t Wiz. I don’t know if this is recent or old, but apparently somebody feels a way about it. And it ain’t Wiz. What do you think about a married mother of one getting her butt groped by a fan? Don’t bother me one bit. In fact, I wish I was him. Peep:
Dats a lucky dude. Wiz, I mean. The fan drove 17 hours…WOW.
Designed with the sounds of Dilla. We call it Plug Two
On the 25th year of De La Soul’s debut album 3 Feet High And Rising, the legendary rap group is ready to deliver fans with more music than they have in years. Today (March 4th), De La Soul released the song “Dilla Plugged In”, off their upcoming J. Dilla-produced mixtape Smell The D.A.I.S.Y.
The mixtape will be the second mixtape the group plans to release. Later this month, De La Soul are set to release a mixtape over six beats from DJ Premier and Pete Rock entitled Premiem Soul On The Rocks.
The group’s eighth album (and first in a decade) You’re Welcome is scheduled to be released this summer.
Last night, New York City’s, Best Buy Theater served host to Rick Ross’ Mastermind album release concert. Upon entry, a bevy of Top Flight security guards greeted guests with, ‘Have your own damn tickets out before you get on line!’ Well, Ricky must have remained connected to some of his former co-workers.
While descending a plethora of stairs I was again thankful I chose to wear my reliable and always comfy all-black Chucks. Overhead, several substantial crystal chandeliers gave the theatre its overt lighting. The V.I.P..’s segregated themselves to two different areas; balcony seating was reserved for these cognizant of the personal importance, as was a section of the conventional cushioned theatre seats.
The feuds are over! Tracks by both Jeezy and 50 Cent were played. The pre-show cacophony of sound was mixed with assorted Hip-Hop, anxious conversation from The Boss’ supporters, and fruitless haranguing from the desperate security anxious for action. Proclaiming, “No smoking!,’ suspected Green connoisseurs were readily assaulted with an intense flashlights glare.
8:30 – 10 P.M.
At 8:30 P.M. all lights were abruptly shut off. Momentarily engulfed by darkness a hush silenced the crowd. The stage instantly illuminated with Hot 97’s, DJ Enuff. French Montana’s “Ocho Cinco,” shattered the silence. The crowd was definitely on one! Playing to the home crowd, a medley of New York nostalgia followed. Biggie, ‘Pac, The Infamous Mobb’s “Shook Ones,” and even Nas’ “Oochie Wally” cranked up the collective excitement. The knob was nearly broken.
Though armed with impressive scratching, DJ Enuff’s previous promises of an unrevealed Rick Ross annoyed the crowd. Around 10 P.M. the stage was still sans Ross. A lackluster chorus of boos echoed growing contention and disappointment.
10:15 – 11:15 P.M.
Accompanied by 1500 or Nothin’s band and DJ Sam Sneed, The Teflon Don, finally took the stage. A Maybach Music intro was reiterated to signify his presence. “B.M.F.,” “I’m Not A Star,” and “I’m A Boss” erased any angst regarding the prolonged wait.
Snippets of the 2013 hit “F*ckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt,” and “The Devil Is A Lie,” were both performed without Jay Z. An abbreviated “Blk & White” was performed before Atlanta’s, Tracy T graced the stage to assist with “War Ready.” Too bad Jeezy was not in attendance to complete the track.
A special homage to Brooklyn, NY was paid throughout the show’s duration. Daring to remake the classic Notorious B.I.G., “You’re Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You)” Ross’ rendition “Nobody” features both Diddy and French Montana. The Coke-Boy himself presence heightened “Nobody’s” delivery. Many of the night’s rappers relied on the security of a backing track; this was only awkward when the live spitting did not synch with the prerecorded track.
Though only performing one song, The LOX snatched the stage when performing the classic, “Money, Power, Respect.” This was the absolute highlight of the show; everyone was on their feet! Emboldened by the tangible energy, Rick Ross, time-travelled to ’06 with “Hustlin’” followed by his verse from “On One,” plus a preview of “In Vein” which is bolstered by The Weeknd’s voice. Taking a moment to honor the Creator, “Sanctified” briefly graced the crowd.
Strip club anthem, “Don’t Stop” was interrupted by DJ Khaled who insisted on an Instagram break. French Montana, DJ Khaled, and Rick Rose posed amid the blinding flashes for the Instagram memory. Armed with confidence Tracy T again took the stage sharing “Champagne” and “16” to a stoic New York reception.
Fat Trel’s “Shhh” and “She Fell In Love” reinvigorated the crowd. Introduced by Khaled, Busta Rhymes, used his credible cadence to deliver the classic, “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See.” Perhaps the concert’s most awe-inspiring moment was when Busta proclaimed, “Ross Ross, hands-down, is one of my favorite MCs of all time.” This revelation elicited a secure-man hug from The Boss and the former Leader of The New School.
For reasons unknown, in true DJ Khaled fashion, the DJ shouted to Ross supporters to buy all three versions of Mastermind. Kanye shrugs and a collective f*ckhesaid emanated from the crowd. I was grateful to have been seated during the concert. It definitely killed a mundane Monday evening.
Big K.R.I.T. launched the “Week of K.R.I.T,” which is his new campaign that will see him releasing a track everyday. After delivering a major collaboration with Rick Ross on “New Agenda,” KRIT drops a freestyle called “Conscious Effort.” Over Hi-Tek’s “Letter To The King” (originally done by Game and Nas), KRIT attempts to come off modest, talking about how money changes everything and wondering if the grind will finally pay off.
(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross is a rapper, entrepreneur, former correctional officer, father but he has never been a member of a mysterious occult. In a recent interview, Ross not only laughed off the persistent rumors of his affiliation with the Illuminati, but also theorized a scenario in which he would be open to joining the group.
While speaking with Rolling Stone for their upcoming issue, Ross says the Illuminati rumors not only humor him but compliments the rapper’s success:
It’s a compliment. Like, ‘Wow, I made it, I’m in the Illuminati!’ But people who say s### like that, to me, are like people who believe in f*cking magic.
Later in the interview, Ross makes peace with all magicians by stating that “avid Copperfield is a close homey of mine”. The Mastermind rapper even gives a scenario in which he would all the Illuminati members to hang with him at his house:
If the Illuminati was like Men in Black, I would’ve been told them to come to the house. You mean they just pull up and zap you and you’re successful and rich? Shut the f*ck up! You know, I just smile and keep it going, man.
(AllHipHop News) Do we live in a post-racial America where banning an racially offensive word is offensive? According to Seattle Seahawks’ corner Richard Sherman, we do as he gave his opinions on the NFL’s recent attempt at banning the N-word from being said on field.
At a March owners’ meeting, it is being speculated that the NFL’s competition committee will put in place a rule that would penalize teams 15 yards if players utter the N-word. In a recent interview with themmqb.com, the Super Bowl winning Sherman disapproves of the banning, partially on the grounds that other offensive language will not been penalized:
[Banning the n-word] is an atrocious idea. It’s almost racist, to me. Why wouldn’t all curse words be banned then.
The Fritz Pollard Alliance, an organization that monitors diversity in the NFL, has led the charge for the rule. The head of the group, John Wooten informed ESPN.com that he believes the 15 yard penalty should escalate to ejections for multiple players:
I’ll even accept the fact that they say we’re going to warn them in preseason but during the [regular-season] games, if it comes up, we’re going to take him to the sideline to the coach and tell the coach, ‘Coach this a warning. Next time he’s out of here.’ I want it to be that drastic
The rule will be discussed and voted for approval at this year’s owner’s meeting from March 26th-March 29th in Orlando, Fla.
(AllHipHop News) Aspiring producers and Drake fans can now discover how his “Furthest Thing” song came together. Jake One recently spoke with Snare Jordan to discuss how he made the beat for track two off Drizzy’s Nothing Was The Same.
The man who has also created production for 50 Cent, T.I., and Rick Ross explains how he experimented with Pro Tools for the drums and reinterpreted the sample on “Furthest Thing.”
Jake also talks about how he connected with Drake through social media. He says did not realize the rapper was following him on Twitter until fans informed him. The Seattle native reached out to Drake through tweets and then later sent him beats for review. Eventually, the “Furthest Thing” track was selected for the album.
“Over the course of like a year, he picked a bunch of beats and that was the one that ended up making it,” reveals Jake.
(AllHipHop News) In September of 2013, Chicago EDM artist Clive Tanaka filed a lawsuit against Nicki Minaj claiming the Young Money rapper’s#### song “Starships” illegally used parts of his song “Neu Chicago.” Radar Online reports that Nicki (born Onika Maraj) is requesting that Tanaka’s suit be dismissed.
Court documents filed on Minaj’s behalf state that she did not infringe on the performer’s copyright because the “Starships” composition and recordings are “original works of authorship.” The docs go on to say that Minaj never met Tanaka or heard the song “Neu Chicago.”
Minaj points out that she received the “demo” of “Starships” from producer Red One and then added her own lyrics. Red One (Nadir Khayat) and songwriters Carl Falk, Wayne Hector, and Rami Yacoub are also named as defendants in Tanaka’s suit.
Tanaka believes that Falk, Hector, and Yacoub heard “Neu Chicago” in their home nation of Sweden. The song apparently received significant airplay as part of television ads in the country. In her response, Minaj acknowledges that the original demo for “Starships” was created in Sweden by Falk, Hector, and Yacoub, and then sent to Red One in 2011.
Minaj also argues that Tanaka released “Neu Chicago” in 2010 but did not register the song until three years later. This was after she released “Starships” in 2012. The Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded creator is also requesting that the case be moved from Illinois to California where she lives and works.
(AllHipHop News) Shots rang out atRick Ross’ Mastermind album release party featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs in Atlanta over the weekend. DeKalb County police have now identified the suspect in the shooting at the Velvet Room nightclub.

When they went outside to investigate, Robinson then shot at them. The officers returned fire hitting the 39-year-old in the leg.
“He was able to get up from his injuries and go inside the club. The officers found him inside injured and took him into custody,” said DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander.
Robinson was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer.
