Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. is reportedly taking on the part of his father in the movie. Cube, who also serves as a producer for Straight Outta Compton, had previously expressed his interest in Jackson Jr portraying the emcee. Several other rappers and actors auditioned for part, but apparently the media mogul convinced executives at Universal to go with his son.

Fellow N.W.A member Dr. Dre and Tomica Woods-Wright, the widow of Easy-E, are also listed as producers for the picture. F. Gary Gray (Set It Off, The Italian Job) is on hand to direct. There is no scheduled release date for the film as of yet.

Peter Rosenberg Calls Chuck D A Twitter Troll; Chuck Responds

(AllHipHop News) Hip Hop legend Chuck D has been using his Twitter page recently to takedown New York radio station Hot 97. It started when the Public Enemy frontman began commenting on Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert calling out the channel for creating a “sloppy fiasco” of Hip Hop culture.

Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg has now responded to Chuck D during his segment called “The Realness.” The Morning Show host started out by stating how much he respects Chuck for his contributions to Hip Hop, but then Rosenberg accused him of “trolling” and makes a point that Chuck D is not the leader of the culture.

“Chuck D, no one elected you president of Hip Hop,” said Rosenberg. “We love you. You’re a forefather of this game, you contributed, but we did not elect you president of this culture. No one owns Hip Hop.”

Rosenberg ends the segment by asking Chuck D what he is doing to aid Hip Hop.

“What are you doing to support this culture besides tweeting confusing messages in 140 characters of less?” asked Rosenberg. “What are you doing? Cause if all you’re doing is trolling on Twitter, you ain’t doing that much.”

Chuck D went back to Twitter to reply to Rosenberg calling him a social media troll.

Charlamagne Tha God: 50 Cent Can't Get Back To Where He Was Musically (POLL)

(AllHipHop News) With the sales expectations for 50 Cent’s latest album Animal Ambition hovering around 35,000 units, there are many observers who believe the G-Unit leader’s music career has reached its plateau. One of the those people is The Breakfast Club’s Charlamagne Tha God.

During an interview with VLAD TV, the radio host commented on whether he thought 50 can get back to where he was at the height of his musical output. He also compared 50’s career trajectory to other rappers like 2 Chainz, Jeezy, T.I. and Jay Z.

Charlamagne said:

Nobody can ever get back to where they were. That’s just the nature of the game… Tity Boi and Dolla and Playaz Circle never got to that level level. They made great music. I love both they albums… 2 Chainz came out as a whole new person – reinvented himself. He was a rookie and he got to that peak. So, once you get to that level it ain’t never about being that new, hot guy anymore. Cause that new, hot guy is that new, hot guy. After that it’s just about being consistent and maintaining. Like how Jeezy’s done. Jeezy was that new, hot guy at one time. He was consistent and maintained.

That’s why it’s sometimes better to have careers almost like Jay Z and T.I. Reasonable Doubt came out critically acclaimed album, commercially it didn’t do so well. But if you watch Jay Z just grew and grew and grew with every album. Same thing with T.I. I’m Serious, critically acclaimed didn’t sell s**t. He got dropped from the label…But he grew. He grew, grew, and grew and got to a certain point.

After a while, like with 50, came out red-hot. 10 million records sold. Boom, right on top of that – G-Unit album. Boom, four million records sold. Massacre album sold like 10 million records. He capitalized off his moment. From that point on it was just about being consistent. And I think up until his last album he was consistent. Cause his last album really didn’t sell well, but 50 Cent is a brand. 50 Cent has maintained relevancy at being 50 Cent which is great.

The outspoken radio/TV personality added that Fiddy has “maintained” so that people “care about his name” which is enough for someone who has been in the game as long as 50 has.

What do you think? Take the poll below.

Andre 3000 Confirms He Is Working On New Music

(AllHipHop News) Last August BET’s Stephen Hill had many in the Hip Hop world rejoicing when he tweeted that André 3000 planned to release a new solo album in early 2014. Dré’s team quickly came out and stated that “there is no official confirmation on that report.”

The project clearly did not make its way into stores during the first half of the year, but there are now reports that the reclusive emcee is back in the studio. According to Hip Hop Weekly, 3000 confirmed with reporters at the Governors Ball Festival in New York City this weekend that he was working on new music, but Dré added that he was not rushing to release his work.

After hearing the news one media member joked, “I’ll believe it when I hear it.” André reportedly responded by laughing and nodding.

André 3000 united with his OutKast partner Big Boi for several festival dates in 2014. The Atlanta duo headlined the Friday night events at Governors Ball.

Kast’s last official album was 2006’s Idlewild, but Dré has appeared as a featured artist on songs by Beyoncé, Jeezy, Drake, Frank Ocean, Lil Wayne, T.I., Rick Ross, and Future over the last few years.

EXCLUSIVE: Master P Says That He Was Not Aware Of An Appointed Court Date and He Was Never Served

(AllHipHop News) Earlier today, reports surfaced that Master P’s estranged wife Sonya Miller was granted full custody of their children due to P not attending a scheduled child custody court hearing. Master P EXCLUSIVELY explains to AllHipHop why he missed the scheduled child custody court hearing, future legal action he will take and more.

Here is Master P’s full, unedited statement in regards to the recent news

At the time of the court hearing that I was not aware of, I was actually at my daughter, Italy’s school speaking with her principal. My daughter is failing in all of her courses and has 21 unexcused absences during this school year. Italy is the only child living with her mother and is not getting the proper guidance nor direction as to making wise choices. Her mother allowed her to go to Disneyland on a school day during finals week. Half of the time her mother doesn’t even know where she is or who she’s with. This is disappointing and embarrassing to me. I just got back into town from holding basketball camps in Kentucky, helping at-risk youth and have to come back home to deal with negativity in my own family. How can a judge grant custody to an unfit mother whose only motive for gaining custody is to get more money? Sonya’s only concern is herself, partying and hanging out with her friends.

Her attorneys are only involved to seek financial gain. No one is really looking out for the best interest of our kids. It’s all about money. She said out of her own mouth that she was tired of the kids, that’s the reason why I came and got them from their mother the first time. I
didn’t need the court or judge to tell me to do what’s right for my kids, that’s what I want to do and that’s my lifelong commitment to all of my kids. Sonya knows that she has a drug and alcohol addiction, everyone else will see that there is a real problem because
that;s something you can only hide for so long. If anything happens to my kids while they;re in her custody, I will be suing her attorneys as well as the court system for not properly investigating this case.

You know what’s really sad? Gossip media outlets like TMZ are constantly covering this without getting real facts. I know that I’m not perfect and I can’t change anyone but myself. I’ m going to put this in God’s hands, keep praying for my family and keep doing the right thing.

Hip-Hop Rumors: New Sex Tape For Mimi And Niko!

Well, this ain’t really new, because I told you that there was a part two coming. I will say that I was wrong about one thing: Mimi actually made a lot of money off this p#### tape. Well, you already know…part 2 is coming, but with a twist. MediaTakeOut is reporting that they are going to make it a threesome. I don’t know if its a man or a woman, but I hope its a woman. Maybe it will be another Love and Hip-Hop ATL member so that somebody else can get paid too.

That’s that.
