(AllHipHop News) Katy Perry finds Rihanna’s beauty astonishing. She is astonished that Rihanna can look so good and be such an Instagram-addicted pothead.
Speaking to Elle Canada, Perry tells that she does not understand how someone with such unhealthy habits as her friend Rihanna could look so “fresh”:
I think that Rihanna always looks so fresh and I’m like, ‘How do you do that? We all know how much pot you smoke! And you don’t sleep because you’re on Instagram at four o’clock in the morning!’
Perry has a history of speaking critically of Rihanna to Elle publications. In July, Perry said she was done “celebrity saving” when discussing her feelings towards Rihanna:
There’s a lot of dark in this business. I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages – they are the root of their demise. It’s really unfortunate but you can’t save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over!
Rihanna’s response should be coming to a social media site near you soon.
(AllHipHop News) On Saturday night fans and friends of Columbus, Ohio rapper and DJ Daymon Dodson were holding their annual march in celebration of the deceased entertainer, but the “Daymon Day” parade was cut short when local police began pepper spraying the 60 or so people according to a report by The Columbus Dispatch.
“Daymon Day” organizers had a city permit, but police say the event was supposed to be cancelled after no officers agreed to escort the parade.
“Somehow that got lost in the mix,” said one police officer.
The march was scheduled to begin at 8 o’clock that evening. Around 9 p.m. the police reportedly began using pepper spray to move the crowd out of the street and onto the sidewalk. Three people were also arrested. No charges have been revealed as of yet.
A message was posted on the Daymon Day Facebook page concerning the incident:
Our friend Daymon Dodson was a beautiful soul. Daymon Day is nothing more than a group of family and friends getting together to celebrate life. For the past seven years Daymon Day has served as a meaningful, peaceful and inspiring event. We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred last night during our 8th annual Daymon Day Parade. At this time, we find that it would be irresponsible to comment on the incident before consulting with legal counsel.
Sincerely,
The Daymon Day Organizers
Dodson passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29 in 2006 from an epileptic seizure. He was a celebrated entertainer and party host in Columbus’ underground Hip Hop scene.
“Daymon was a guy who could bring people together, many kinds of people, from any genre of music,” Ohio rapper Blueprint told Columbus Alive in 2011.

(AllHipHop News) Drake’s new single “Wu Tang Forever” is already an internet sensation. The song has been touted as a tip of the hat to Shaolin’s finest, but Hip-Hop lovers will recognize the hook samples Wu Tang’s own tribute to the “Lyrical King” aka T La Rock and his seminal single “It’s Yours.”
T La Rock, an MC and DJ since the early 70’s, collaborated with Rick Rubin and “It’s Yours” stands in history as Def Jam’s first release in 1984.
Since then, the song has been sampled or reworked by several generations of artists including Nas, Drake, Q-Tip, Mystikal, and Wu Tang.
“When Wu Tang made ‘Its Yourz’ it took a while before people realized the entire concept was based on my song. Unbelievable!!” T La Rock exclaimed to AllHipHop.com. “I freestyled off of Nas ‘The World Is Yours’ instrumental from Illmatic at a jam not long ago. And some people came up to me and said I did a better job on that Nas beat than he did.”
When asked about Drake, T La Rock responds, “I have not met him. But I hear he has mentioned my name over the years.”
Did T La Rock receive credit or publishing from the numerous versions he has inspired?
“I always receive a check. I am still collecting royalty and publishing checks from records I recorded years ago.” T La Rock told AllHipHop.com. “I educate the artist of today that do not know about publishing. Royalty checks is lunch money compared to publishing.”
Today, AllHipHop.com wishes T La Rock a Happy, Henny, Birthday!

Lord Jamar is a legend from the rap group Brand Nubian. He’s official. But he’s been raising a ruckus with his comments on Mister Cee and the notion of homosexuality in Hip-Hop. He says it has NO place in Hip-Hop. Listen to the video and let me know what you think?
Over the weekend in Las Vegas, Floyd “Money” Mayweather proved again why he is the best, with a 12-round victory over Canelo Alvarez.
You know Floyd brings the people out. After the fight they all headed over to The Palms where Sean “Diddy” Combs and friends partied the night away, drinking Ciroc and Belaire.

YO! DMX is one of the few rugged rappers left. Well, there are more, but they wear skinny jeans but I don’t know if they are actually rugged. TMZ caught DMX (DMZ, anybody?) at the airport, where they catch most people and asked him what made him run around a hotel naked.
What is said next…well, just say we never expected this from DMX in the 90’s.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper, singer, actress, and television personality Queen Latifah is set to debut the new version of her day-time talk show today (9/16). After stepping a way from hosting duties of her first program in 2001, the 43-year-old Academy Award nominee is ready to return to the small screen.

Latifah explains to USA Today about what makes the new version of The Queen Latifah Show different from the last:
That was a long time ago, over 10 years ago. I’ve changed tremendously. I enjoyed the first show, but there was a lot I wanted to do in terms of acting and producing. I’ve been able to satisfy that itch. Now I can make a show that’s much more what I want it to be… The first show – the idea of it was what I wanted but what it became wasn’t quite what I wanted it to be. It got a little too heavy, a little too serious. It started to feel like it wasn’t as me as it should be.
She also tell the New York Post:
I definitely felt a little bit of a void. I don’t know, there was a little heart missing in daytime TV… I watch a lot of TV and I definitely watch talk shows and I felt like some of the “fun factor” was missing, an entertainment factor, to a degree.
The Queen Latifah Show is being produced by Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment, Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, and Sony TV. Another musician-turned-actor, Lenny Kravitz, was brought on to design the set for the show.

The “Irreplaceable” singer was performing in São Paulo, Brazil when a fan grabbed her and attempted to drag her into the crowd. Security stepped in to protect Bey, and the Grammy winner continued on with her show.
“It’s alright. Calm, calm, calm,” Beyoncé tells the crowd. She then appears to speak to the man asking him for his name and telling him that she loves him too.
Beyoncé continues the Latin American leg of “The Mrs. Carter Tour” in Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, Mexico, and Puerto Rico throughout the month of September.

(AllHipHop News) Diddy once famously rapped, “Don’t worry if I write rhymes, I write checks.” It appears the head of Bad Boy Entertainment will be writing a pretty substantial check to Rick Ross in the days to come. Diddy posted a video on Instagram of him giving the MMG boss an I.O.U. note for $1 million.
Ross apparently won the cool million in a high-stakes game of Craps. Diddy, reportedly worth over $550 million, did not seem to phased by the loss. He added the caption, “I just lost a million dollars. It ain’t nothin. #SuckMyD*ckB*tch.”
Both Diddy and Ross have projects coming on the horizon. Ross and MMG are releasing their Self Made 3 compilation album on September 17th. Diddy is preparing for the launch of his new network Revolt which is scheduled to premiere in New York and Los Angeles on October 21st and nationwide in 2014.

(AllHipHop News) Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2011 after pleading guilty to drug charges, but Rolling Stone contributor Jeff Weiss is reporting that Boosie’s stay in the pen may be coming to an end in the near future. Just got word that judges have agreed to give back Boosie’s hard drives and computers. It means a whole lot of new Boosie music coming soon.

If you missing from the face of the Earth…you may have missed this non-significant piece of puffery from last week. Drake released a new song called “Wu Tang Forever.” We all went:
LIKE, “We thought Drake was going to drop bars of fury.” Then it was like:
Honestly, I didn’t get through the song, because I felt hoodwinked! But now, they are talking that Drake has a backup plan to win all those young Wu Tang fans out there. He’s reportedly gotten remixes by the actual Wu Tang Clan lined up. Peep what U-God told Vibe:
“They wanted us to remix it and get on there [so] you gon’ probably hear another one with us on it. Meth did his verse—we all did our verses. I wrote my rhyme in probably 15, 20 minutes. We were moving so fast we only had about four hours of studio time. If I had some time to really sit down and get juicy with it, I probably could’ve got juicier with it. But I still do a nice one, I still do a real banger.”
Hmmmmmmm…..wonder how this will end up. The only thing is, I don’t know if this will even win over the fans. I guess Cash Does Rule Everything Around Me.

Congrats to Floyd Mayweather for beating Canelo over the weekend. But, there was something else people I know were talking about. That’s the chick that Nas was with. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of this chick, but it suggests that Nas celebrated his birthday in a grand fashion! The rap god was turning heads with his “fine young thing” on his arm. But, also at night, Nas was rocking a crazy suit that was laced in gold (see above).

Anyway, the homey did his thing but capped it off after the fight. He partied through the night and celebrated the blessing of turning 40! He and Busta rocked out as well…dope.

Las Vegas, NV – The teacher taught the student a lesson that he will likely never, ever forget. In front of a record 16,746 fans that included hip hop heavyweights Rick Ross, Diddy and Nas as well as number of athletes (Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson), actors (Jack Nicholson, Don Cheadle) and a rabid Mexican contingency howling inside of the MGM Grand Garden, Floyd Mayweather put on a scintillating display of boxing ability as he thoroughly outclassed Saul “Canelo” Alvarez to unify the junior middleweight world titles and keep his perfect record intact with a majority decision victory.
Aside from a completely nonsensical 114-114 score courtesy of the same C.J. Ross that gift wrapped a notorious decision victory for Timothy Bradley over Manny Pacquiao, it was a one-sided wash by Mayweather. Thankfully, judges Dave Moretti (116-112) and Craig Metcalfe (117-111) restored order to the universe. But, honestly, even those scores were generous (Knockout Nation had it 120-108) as “Money” made easy work out of what was being called his toughest test to date.
The 36-year-old may have been Canelo’s senior by 13 years, but his experience and tool set offset the physical advantages that many assumed the redheaded Mexican would have. Mayweather admits that Canelo’s time will come, but just not while he’s still around.
“Canelo is a young, strong champion. A great Mexican champion,” Mayweather (45-0, 26 KOs) said. “I take my hat off to him and to Mexico. He can take a loss and bounce back.”
But there would be no bouncing back on this night. All that was bouncing was Mayweather’s jab off Canelo’s face. The pound for pound king took the fight straight to Canelo from the opening bell as he went on the offensive in a hurry. A slick jab squeezed through the young fighters gloves and repeatedly snapped his head back. Perhaps taken back by Mayweather’s strategy, Canelo winged heavy punches while Mayweather was in range, but could only come up with air as the champion darted away with relative ease.
“He’s very elusive, he’s a great fighter and that’s why I couldn’t catch him,” a visibly displeased Alvarez said afterwards while connecting on only 117 of his 526 punches thrown (22%). “I did not know how to get to him. It’s as simple as that. He’s very elusive.”
If nothing else, it was a boxing lesson that could go a long way in helping Canelo take over the sport once Mayweather finally decides to hang them up. But on this night, Canelo found himself in way over his head. Mayweather cracked him often with the jab and launched a number of straight right hands that Canelo could hardly see coming. The Mexican hero’s lack of experience came into play as he was visibly frustrated and often resorted to dirty tactics like a shoulder to the chin or a punch into the thigh to vent his anger. It didn’t matter though, Mayweather sucked the air out of the screaming Mexican fans who bombarded the arena with “Ca-Ne-Lo” chants. By the middle rounds they likely started to think about what they were going to wear to the litany of after parties. Mayweather was extraordinarily accurate as he landed 232 of his 505 punches (46%) and over half of his power shots.
“My dad had a brilliant game plan,” Mayweather said while noting that he believed to have dislocated his elbow in the sixth round. “I could have pressed it and got the late stoppage.”
Nevertheless, “Money” once again lives up to his nickname as he will take home a record $41.5 million while seeing the upside of the pay per view that could close in on the 2.44 million buys that he and Oscar De La Hoya did several years ago when setting the pay per view record.
With the win, Mayweather will now have to pick from a shallow pool of options for his next fight. The undefeated fighter vows to fight next in May, and again in September. That’s the easy part. The hard part is figuring out with whom he can be matched with that the public believes might give him a run for his money. If Saturday’s extraordinary performance was any indicator, the only fight that’s going to challenge Mayweather will be against Father Time.

I suspect this is fake. The Rick Ross I know doesn’t make people faint like that. Wait, I don’t know Rick Ross at all. But, he is a star, despite his assertions Anyway, on the new MMZ network, Rozay and the crew show off a hood rat looking chick that bubbily runs up on Rozay…then FAINTS. Now, Ross didn’t seem to be in on any joke, but the chick’s fain seemed crazy fake to me. Then she popped up all bubbles again! I’m thinking she’s a fraud b. The video is below.
