Hip-Hop Rumors: Is The Doe B Album Still Coming Out?

UPDATE #2:

DJ Frank White weighed in on the rumor and here is what he had to say:

Well that’s actually GOOD NEWS!

In the meantime, listen to “Betta Kno It,” the latest from Doe B.

UPDATE: I’ve been informed that T.I. is DEFINITELY looking to make that Doe B album happen. This is good news to hear for Doe’s fans, family and loved ones.

ti doe b 500x333
At the end of 2013, Doe B was tragically slain in an act so reprehensible, people wanted to kill the killers. They turned themselves in quick to avoid the streets. But, Doe B’s fans know that he’s got quite a lot of music in the vaults, but what is to become of it. Quickly after Doe died, I was told that T.I. and others were feverishly looking to get a project out fast to capitalize off the boy’s heat. But, month’s later, that heat has turned down, because of legal wrangling. Different parties that were around Doe had different ideas on how to get the guys music out. I also heard some of it was money related. I am hearing its possible the Doe B album may never come out, in part, due to the delays. Doe was definitely going to be a big star on a major label. It may not happen now. Hopefully, they find some way to get the project out and give it some life.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Nicki’s Getting Married – Illseed Told Ya!

At the end of February, my pudgy fingers wrote the following:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Nicki Minaj About To Secretly Get Married?

Now MF’s wanna listen to Perez if you want, but I nailed this one. You may have saw on other sites that Nicki went on “vacation” in Mexico to celebrate 10 years with Safaree aka Scaff Breezy – her long running boyfriend. But, the word is that was the trip where he proposed to her. Its clear that this is the real deal and has been for quite some time. There have even been haters of the couple that has recently released images of their various relationship outside of each other. But we aren’t playing that game. Not now. The word is they got engaged simple and plain. Wonder when the marriage will be and if it will be a VH1 special?

A recent trend that has developed since Boosie was incarcerated in late 2009 was rappers performing their entire albums at concerts. In the last 5 years Common, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, GZA and many others have performed their classic albums and Boosie has stated that he has a lot of music he has never performed due to his lengthy incarceration. While revealing he is ready to perform he also divulges a new way in which he may develop his set list for shows:

Before I even went [to jail] I could do 20, 30 songs easy on the stage. So now, with this new catalogue I might do some mixing up. I might be calling the radio station before I go to that city. ‘What y’all want to hear?’ Because I have to give the fans what they want.

Mona Scott Young Sued For $50 Million For Love & Hip-Hop

Mona Scott Young is reportedly being sided for copyright infringement for stealing the idea that would eventually lead to “Love & Hip-Hop.”

Apparently, 8th Wonder Entertainment, Nicki Lum-Davis, Trisha Lum have taken exception to Scott’s franchise and have taken their grievances to court. They charge fraud, breach of contract and breach of confidence. They say that developed a show called “Hip-Hop Wives,” which included Tashera Simmons (DMX’s ex-wife), Chrissy Lampkin (Jim Jones’ fiance), Mashonda Tifere (ex-wife of Swizz Beatz), and Debbie Lorenzo, Irv Gotti’s ex-wife.

The plaintiffs charge they pitched the show to VH1. After the idea was rejected, the concept was retooled and packaged as “Love & Hip-Hip.”

The suit was filed on March 10.

Neither VH1 nor Scott-Young has commented on the legal move at press time.

What is the Black Agenda?

power of 9Whenever I hear someone make the statement, “What is the Black Agenda?” I get really p#####. Especially if it’s another black person. There are leaders and political operatives who continue to ask ‘what is the black agenda?’ as though the game plan for black progress has changed the last 100 years or so.

I was at a recent luncheon when a nationally celebrated elected official, who I think is very smart, progressive and works hard on behalf of black people… and their agenda. And the conversation was about our current president and his agenda for black people… his people. So, I respectfully asked this Congressman, why do people like Rev. Sharpton, Ben Jealous and Marc Morial, whom he know well, keep talking about the need to take the Obama’s administration the ‘black Agenda.’ Aren’t those gentlemen black? President Barack Obama is also black, correct? And haven’t these men in mention fought the fight for black people the last 40 years, collectively?

So with that said, they should have the black game plan within them. They’ve lived through it. They’ve felt the affects of not being represented from past actions. And it probably was the same ‘Negro Agenda’ when they where young hustlers. So why do they keep asking such a stupid question, over and over again? And not only is the question stupid, they act like black folks don’t have a clue what the ‘black agenda’ is, so therefore, how can black folks take their concerns and issues to the White House. WOW!

I wonder if white America is asking the same question within their community? Hey Baby Boo Boo, what is the damn ‘white agenda?’ Their agenda is the same as the ‘black agenda, ‘the ‘asian agenda,’ ‘the ‘hispanic agenda’ and every other race of people in this country who has an America agenda for their community.

Economic development, staple and progressive communities with unlimited educational opportunities. This is the American agenda, regardless race, creed, color or sex. Our agendas are so much alike, except, white America has a different way in which they exercise their demand for an agenda. The difference between the ‘white agenda’ is that whites aspire for economic dominance, private and exclusive communities, for the most part. While everybody else just wants a simple slice of the America dream to survive and live collectively in peace and harmony.

TRUTH Be Told: White America has no problem with black folks or any other race climbing up the latter to prosperity, as long as they don’t try and knock them off the latter in the process. And even if other races climb high and fast, whites will only add new steps to the latter that goes higher and in a different direction. So as far as they’re concern, it’s like adding new jobs. You’re not gonna take their jobs because they would just create more work/jobs to handle their ‘white agenda.’

It’s called moving the goal post. When the playing field becomes even and others have progressed, whites in control, almost, always change the course. (See Tiger Woods – they designed new courses to challenge his dominance on an even playing field). This way, no one can ever really catch them. So therefore, you’ll always playing with or against your own racial peers. And in relations to black folks, you’re beating up each other trying to get to a place you’ll never get to.

On another theme of the ‘black agenda.’ I don’t wanna hear potential elected officials running for office or an incumbent doing commercials that talks about crime and violence. STOP trying to put fear in voters! Crime and violence is a by-product of loss wages and high unemployment, which equals communities in despair.

TRUTH Be Told: Candidates, make your slick infomercials and campaign slogans about the need for economic development and JOBS in poor, dysfunctional communities. Give speeches about creating businesses and establishing companies in wards or districts you’re looking to represent- and crime will decrease. That’s what the ‘black agenda’ is; always has been, always will be! Peace and One Love.
