Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Rihanna Demanding To Have Chris Brown Perform With Her At The VMAs?

Although Chris Brown’s rep released a statement earlier this week saying that he would not be at the MTV VMAs next week, rumors are swirling that he will be at the VMAs to perform alongside Rihanna! The two are rumored to be performing their collaborative song, “Cake”.

Rihanna tweeted her fans late last week and asked if they would be mad at her if “Cake” was turned into a single. According to MediaTakeOut.com, MTV suits expressed concern about the backlash they may receive due to the joint performance, but Rihanna was hearing none of that. She allegedly demanded that Breezy perform with her, and the producers of the show had no choice but to oblige.

Not sure why Rihanna is pressing the issue so much; maybe those hook-up rumors are true. Rihanna did tell Oprah that she was still in love with Chris. “I still love him. We’re very, very close friends. We built a trust again and that’s it. We love each other and we probably always will.”

But I just don’t understand how that works with Breezy’s girl, Karrueche Tran always around. Are you excited to finally see these two perform together? I wonder what Jay-Z has to say about this.

Sidenote – Those Wiz and Amber pregnancy rumors aren’t going anywhere. The latest I heard was that Amber was going to pull a “Beyonce” and announce her pregnancy at the VMAs. Does anybody care that much?

Dawn Richard Shines Exotic in "Wild N' Faith" Visual

The message here is simple: Dawn Richard isn’t going anywhere.

R&B singer, and former Bad Boy Records/Diddy Dirty Money artist Dawn Richard has been hard at work since her release from her former label, leading an independent movement with her “Hearts,”  and producing her most-profiled material yet, the Armor On mixtape, earlier this year.

The video for “Wild N’ Faith”, directed by Marina & The Diamonds director, ELY, gives us another look at Dawn’s futuristic style and movement ability. The visual finds this former New Orleans Hornet dancer giving little room for error, moving and providing near-perfect choreography that rivals any of her competitors. Yep, including Beyonce.

Check the video:

Dawn is prepping her solo debut album, Goldenheart, for an October 16 release.

Philly Drug Kingpin Ace Capone Releases Tell-All, "Go Hard: The Takedown of Ace Capone"A

(AllHipHop News) Former Philadelphia drug kingpin Ace Capone is preparing to a new title titled “Go Hard: The Takedown of Ace Capone,” which will chronicle the rise and fall of his label, Take Down Records.

Ace Capone, born Alton Coles, was the CEO of the label until March of 2008, when he was convicted of running a $25 million cocaine operation, that distributed drugs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.

While he was on the streets, Take Down artists like Bugsy and Snake worked with Philly rappers like Freeway, Beanie Sigel and Tone Trump.

“This book was not written to glorify the game. It was written to reveal the aftermath of what happens as a result of being raised in an environment upon poor parenting skills, as well as being a key player in the streets,” Ace Capone told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Although the book is solely for entertainment purposes for the readers, the overall gain and lesson of this book is to learn from our mistakes and to lead those that are mislead/misguided.”

“Go Hard” will be the first in a trilogy of books Ace Capone is writing from the Big Sandy Federal Correctional Institution, where he is currently serving life + 55 years.

The book is being released by Key To Life Publishing, a company that releases positive influential books.

In addition to the “Go Hard” series, the book imprint is planning the release of “Product of My Environment,” which will be an explanation guide for troubled youth and their parents.

A “Go Hard” book release party is slated for Friday, September 14 at Millcreek Tavern in Philadelphia.

Hip-Hop Rumors: MF Doom Sends A Look-A-Like Doom Bot To UK Show?

Peep what I saw on YaHeard.com! MF Doom seems to be up to his old tricks again!

On Saturday night (August 25th) MF Doom was due to make an appearance at hip-hop night, Livin’ Proof. Livin’ Proof are known to host initimate shows with some of the hottest hip-hop underground acts in the world. Unfortuntaely, Doom ended up sending a Doombot to the London show. Doom fans in the crowd were not that surprised that the rapper did not show. Rumours were circulating that he actually sent a Londoner to spin a set (which looked like the Doombot was playing an iPod as opposed to spinning a record!) Here’s an official statement released by Livin Proof:

To everyone who came down to our Livin’ DOOM event on Saturday and are questioning whether that was the real DOOM – we are in the same position as you. We had a legitimate contracted gig from his official booking agent and were in contact t…hroughout the booking process with his US management, and label. We were even talking and working with the promoters of DOOM’s forthcoming London live shows in October and November.

As far as we were concerned, the real DOOM was going to appear… we received news from DOOM’s management on the morning of the gig that DOOM wanted more money or he would not show up. This show was done and intended as a very special and intimate show which was not about making money but putting on an incredible party in a very small capacity venue. As we wanted the show to go ahead and was left to ransom to this extortionate request, we agreed this even though this was a breach of our agreed contract. In hindsight, we should have cancelled the show then and there…
At 9.30pm after we had open the doors, we were told by management that he would appear but would not DJ and was just going to sign autographs. We said this was unacceptable as we had agreed and paid for a DJ set… 10 minutes later we received a call saying that he would DJ… Or that’s what we were led to believe.

As many of the people in the venue noticed, there is a very strong possibility the person that was finally sent down was not DOOM himself.

Doing this show has taught us a lot about how some artists operate and how they feel they can treat others and, most importantly, their fans. As fans of DOOM ourselves, this has left a very sour taste in our mouth.

Anyone who has been to Livin’ Proof parties always know that we do our utmost to provide the best quality show and we are so sorry for anyone who came down and were disappointed by the DJ set from the artist supposedly meant to be DOOM.
We will do our utmost to make this up to anyone who purchased a ticket for this event. We paid the fee upfront to Daniel Dumile’s bank account and have the receipts to prove this. We will be seeking legal advice and are doing our best to get his show fee refunded from DOOM and his management and will then take suitable steps after this action.

All the best,

Livin’ Proof Crew.See More

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Stevie J A Woman Abuser?

Our friends over at The Grio.com have posted a scathing article calling Stevie J out as a woman abuser. No, not in the same sense as Memphitz, allegedly – but they say Stevie is emotionally abusive towards his baby mama, Mimi Faust and his girlfriend, Joseline Hernandez.

The article was written by domestic violence survivor and advocate, Sil Lai Abrams, and she believes that although Stevie has publicly never laid a hand on the women, he is abusive towards them in other ways. Check out an excerpt of her article below:

Chronic infidelity is a form of abuse, as is bullying, name calling, put downs, intimidation and repeated threats of abandonment. Love & Hip Hop, Basketball Wives and its reality sistren consistently portray female cast members as belligerent, sexually manipulative, emotionally unstable and physically violent.

Those who sit in judgment of Joseline and Mimi don’t understand that one of the consequences of abuse is its effect on a victim’s mental health. The reality is that, women who are battered suffer from a disproportionately higher rate of mental health disorders. Look, I’m not a psychologist, but could it be possible that some of the “ratchet” behavior we ridicule on L&HHA or other exploitive “reality” shows are actually just a symptom of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder that often results from being abused? And if that’s the case, why are we laughing at women for having “normal” emotional responses to long-term trauma?

You can read the full article here. So, what do you think? Does Stevie J fall into the category of an emotionally abusive man?
