(AllHipHop News Feature) When President Barack Obama came into office in 2008, he had more celebrity fans than any other President in history. Here, some four years later, the celebrity crowd is still behind the President, and have been campaigning for him all over the country.
Just yesterday (November 5), two of the biggest stars in the world, Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen, campaigned with the president in Columbus, Ohio on his final day of campaigning.
Throughout the year, AllHipHop.com caught up with some of the top celebrities and asked them if they thought President Obama should be reelected. Kevin Hart, who mentioned that he also donates to the president’s campaign, kept it funny, saying that he was voting for Obama because he’s “supposed to.”
“I talked to him, and I told him to his face that I was going to vote for him,” said Kevin Hart. “I’m a Barack fan, and he got dealt a bad hand, and it’s great to see him turn that hand into a good hand.”
Proud New York artist Jadakiss also believes that President Obama should be reelected.
“I’d like to see President Obama get another term, why not?” said Jadakiss. “They let all those other suckers get another term; let’s get Obama back!”
Watch the exclusive video below featuring Kevin Hart, Jadakiss, Terrence J, Olivia, Bobby V, and more, as they speak on why they are voting for President Barack Obama in today’s election – and why you should, too!
Editor’s Note: Today (November 6) is Election Day and if you haven’t already, please make sure to get out and vote!

I hope you are well and healthy. This is a second where I want to be serious. I know a lot of you hated my article The Illseed Endorsement: The Frivolous Reasons Why You Should Vote For Barack Obama.
RELATED: The Illseed Endorsement: The Frivolous Reasons Why You Should Vote For Obama!
The story wasn’t meant to be serious or real. You get lots of “real” reasons to vote for a candidate. They are on AHH and other media outlets like CNN, BET, MSNBC and more. Anyway, the game is serious now and its time to vote. I hope, whoever you vote for, that you actually go out and vote. It makes a difference, people died for this right and change starts with our generation. Some cats want to discourage people from voting but the may be COINTELPRO agents for all I know. Shout out to people that fought for this right to vote just a couple decades ago.

(AllHipHop News) Today is the most important dates in United States politics and just like the rest of the country, rappers are buzzing about today’s presidential election.
Today, former U.S. resident Moses “Shyne” Levi weighed in on today’s presidential election and who he hopes will be the next leader of the United States.
“It really boils down to my feelings on the President’s foreign policy. I feel [that] he is dangerous for the world.. The American economy is not going to find the stability it needs to grow if you have a leader like Barack Obama,” Shyne told AllHipHop.com. “He is naive, he’s just not up to it. America has never played the side line when it came to foreign policy. When it came to international affairs , America has always been on the forefront. The President of the United States is supposed to be the most powerful man on the planet”
Shyne does not believe President Barack Obama deserves a second term and believes that we should give Mitt Romney a chance to prove himself
“People vote along the lines of abortion, I vote along those lines. People may say what is Romney is going to do, but I feel he deserves a chance. Obama had his chance. He came with all his “Yes We Can” “Theres Going to be a Change” and I didn’t see that. I didn’t see none of that. To me he’s a great talker. He’s all rhetoric, articulate and a great orator. But where I’m from talk don’t mean nothing ..Shyne can’t get a second chance..Obama can’t get a second. I don’t get a second chance right? I made one mistake and I’m paying for it 15 years later.”

A week after Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast, many people are still without electricity. Many NYC dwelling celebrities, including Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz were also affected, and they tweeted about “candlelight” life. Jay-Z and Beyonce are rumored to have also lost power in their $7 million Tribeca loft. Not one to sit and let a problem fester, Jay-Z allegedly went out and bought a new generator for the entire building!
We hear they’re calling him the “Hurricane Sandy Guardian Angel”. Um…excuse, me but buying a generator for a building full of rich people can hardly be called a guardian angel. Just keeping it real.
Maybe that’s just the NY Post putting their spin on it. Google Staten Island. Strong Island really took a big hit – now those people need help.
Well, we hear that Jay and Bey didn’t sit in their dark luxury loft for long, and booked a few suites at the Mandarin Oriental at Columbus Circle and 60th Street in Manhattan. Cue the lifestyles of the rich and famous by the Lost Boyz.
Sidenote – Jay-Z and Beyonce allegedly had an extravagant “Costumes only” Halloween Party planned for the 31st, but Hurricane Sandy altered their plans and forced them to cancel the party.
According to the NY Daily News, a source close to the elite couple say that Bey and Jay had already sent invitations out to their close friends but failed to mention a location. On Halloween Day, they all received a cancellation message instead of a location message.
Don’t feel too bad for Jay-Z and Beyonce – they found a sitter for Blue Ivy and attended Cipriani’s star-studded party where they partied it up with Leonardo DiCaprio. Oh, they also attended the season opener for The Brooklyn Nets. Yeah, like I said, lifestyles of the rich and famous.

(AllHipHop News) Havoc of the legendary group Mobb Deep (which is currently on hiatus) got political with AllHipHop.com, and on this very important Election Day, Havoc is urging voters not to “believe the lies” being told by the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney.
“If somebody like [Mitt] Romney is elected, they’re going to cut so many budgets, people are really going to be hurting out there,” said Havoc. “They don’t care about people who are struggling, and they are trying to kill the middle class. What really amazes me the most is that the people who are hurting, some of them are undecided and leaning towards Mitt Romney, and they believe the lies that he’s putting out there.
“If you look at his career and history, [Mitt Romney] has always lied. He’s back and forth on issues. He’s saying one thing, but he’s definitely going to do another if he gets in there.”
Up until now, Havoc has never been very political publicly, but all of that may change in the near future.
“I’ve never ever tried [to get into politics], I just sit and yell at the TV most of the time, but one day, you never know, I might try to get involved with local politics.”
“I would like to, because I’m just tired of sitting back and letting politicians lie to us, and not really serving the people.”
“[Some] people think that what happens in the voting booth or whoever is elected doesn’t affect them, but it’s definitely the opposite…Federal programs being cut, which will affect the state programs, which will affect your block.”
Check out our exclusive interview with Havoc, where he speaks about why it is important to vote for the right candidate and explains his future political aspirations:
“A man’s character is defined by his hustle…” – Freeway
For most of us outside the Philadelphia area, our first taste of Freeway’s music came with the release of his critically acclaimed debut, Philadelphia Freeway. With Just Blaze’s hands all in the production mix alongside impressive outings from the then-solidified Roc-A-Fella label, Freeway seemed poised to make some noise, but not in the way we would think. After the disbandment of what we were accustomed to seeing, Freeway could’ve easily packed it in and found a different hustle, but thankfully he didn’t. From his follow-up LP, Free At Last, to numerous drops and mixtapes (including The Stimulus Package, an incredible outing from he and respected producer Jake One), it’s all brought us to this point in his career where he’s a respected emcee on virtually all fronts.
He could easily choose to mail it in yet again, but by now we know that he won’t. It’s with that mindstate that Freeway drops off his latest mixtape, Freedom of Speech, a 16-track mixtape that shows off literally every side of Freeway we’ve come to expect from him, and a couple that we didn’t. Backed with the Don Cannon cosign, along with production from the aforementioned Jake One, Mike Jerz, B. Jones, Thelonious Martin, Sap (who produced Game’s “Holy Water” single that dropped just a day ago) Cardiak, and more, Freeway takes aim and delivers yet another consistently sound project, even if some of it tends to drone on old topics we’ve heard before.
Freeway does take a couple of chances on the project, and the willingness to try something out of his comfort range is something you don’t see that often. From his party flow on “Workout”, to the bachelor lifestyle portrayed on “Bearded Wonder”, to the surprisingly not-bad collaboration with Diamond on “Ice Cream”, Freeway handles the instrumentals thrown his way with relative ease. It still may not sit well with fans of his older music, but it’s an interesting listen to say the least. Of course, Free has those “pure” Hip-Hop cuts laced throughout as well; “Beards R Us” is essentially a posse cut where he gets lyrical with Jakk Frost, Malik B, and Tana Da Beast, while “Real Sh*t” has him teaming with Young Chris to exchange bars.
There are several other notables that could be mentioned as well (such as “Master of Ceremony” and the title track, which features a genuine narrative from Mama Jones), but the bottom line never changes; Freeway’s dependable when it comes to dropping good music that his fans can enjoy. Although it may not appeal to some, and the content here isn’t exactly the most original topics you’ll hear this year, Freedom Of Speech is a good listen from start to finish, but more so for Philly Freezer fans that are used to seeing his hustle reflected through music outputs.
That quote at the top makes all the sense in the world when you apply it to Free.

(AllHipHop News) Good kid, m.A.A.d. city artist Kendrick Lamar has been critical of voting in the past, but he recently spoke out to MTV with a different tune – encouraging his peers to get involved.
Lamar, who said he’ll be voting on Election Day tomorrow (November 6), said, “I think that’s one of our biggest failures as a community, as a generation; not wanting to go out and do for ourselves and to sit back and wait.”
“And then when it doesn’t happen, we point the finger. I think we just really need to take matters into our own hands; uplift our community, put money back in our community, and show these kids how there’s something different,” he added.
In recent weeks, League of Young Voters executive director Rob “Biko” Baker remarked on Lamar and his public, anti-voting stance, which included “I don’t do voting.” According to Baker and the League, they welcome his “change of heart” in the final days of the election.
“Glad to see Kendrick Lamar is using his voice to get people engaged,” Baker said. “He can do more to empower our generation to be critical thinkers and action takers than any organization’s voter registration drive. I am proud of Kendrick and this proves to me more that he is the future of hip-hop.”
