(AllHipHop News) Everyday Hip-Hop music grows, reaching the farthest corners of the world. From Africa to Asia, from Europe to Australia, and to Latin America, Hip-Hop has grown considerably since its inception.
DJ Smallz’s upcoming tour across the globe is an example of this globalization, as he hits the road and takes his Southern Smoke brand back to his birthplace of Japan.
Born in Yokosuka, Japan when his father was stationed in the Navy, DJ Smallz is making his fourth trip back to Japan, where he has developed his Southern Smoke brand of mixtapes since 2003.
“Starting in the summer of 2003 and to reflect back to when Southern Smoke started out as a demo CD for me to get into nightclubs while I was in high school, to now DJing in night clubs across the world, it’s incredible,” DJ Smallz explained. “Japan, Middle East, and Canada – if you’ve never partied in Miami, Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, or Memphis, I hope you’re prepared for an authentic Southern party! It’s Southern Smoke, you bastards!”
Below is a list of DJ Smallz’s international tour stops in August and September. For more information on upcoming shows, visit, http://DJSmallz.com/TourSchedule.

Just a few months ago, when we coined singer August Alsina as “R&B’s new thug“, we knew his attitude, persona, and voice would attract a fanbase, and even tastemakers, within the music industry – and he has.
In his latest song and video, Alsina taps Lloyd for the “Sucka” remix, of which the original appears on his April-released mixtape, The Product.
The video opens up with a yet-to-be released track (which we can’t wait to hear), and gives us a better visual of what the song is about as Alsina croons: “You’re not in love you’re just a ‘sucka'”, to the men and women who are being led to believe they are, in fact, in love, but are just being played.”
Nineteen-year-old Alsina has been picking up steam since the release of his first official mixtape, The Product, and if the crooner stays true to his unique sound (and swagger), he may just become a mainstay in the world of R&B. We hope Alsina learns a thing or two from music legend R. Kelly, who, in a recent MTV interview, gave advice to young singers aiming for longevity, stating: “Stay true and respectful to music and to the ones that inspired you to do what you do.”
Check out our most recent interview with August Alsina, here.
There’s no age limit on success – just tune in at anytime to the 2012 Olympics for proof. Among the refined and experienced are the young and promising. Recently, the USA gymnastics team earned gold. The first gold since the 1996 team had everyone chanting simultaneously, “USA, USA!” Among the “Fab Five,” as they are affectionately called, is Gabrielle Douglas. She is the energetic and amazing 16-year-old, so poised and about her business, even at such a ripe age.
Another young member of Team USA is 17-year-old Jordyn Wieber. The California native is among the young elite. Other countries such as Mexico have their hopes set on budding talents such as Ivan Garcia, who is only 18. At 17, Alejandra Valencia, also from Mexico, is actually the second young archer representing her country.
British Olympic diver Tom Daley may only be 18, but he recently released an autobiography, My Story. Australia is also among the countries with the youngest people representing, led by 18-year-old gymnast, Emily Little.
And, the list goes on for the youngsters, who prove being the best based on age isn’t always true.
There is so much inspiration to gain with from watching teens walk away with the gold, or simply compete with all their heart. No need for age limits when it comes to the Olympics, and in life, period. Besides, ability without any stopping points doesn’t see youth, just talent. No point in saying wait until you’ve done this or are old enough to do that, time waits for no one, cultivate skills now. That’s what Gabby, Alejandra, Tom, and the others show the world. While enjoying the Olympics, maybe some will encourage young athletes they know to work harder, because the sky truly is the limit. It’s not all about making it to a professional team.
They just might make it to the Olympics.
