Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Kanye West Going To Let Kim Kardashian's Mother Manage Him?

Happy 35th Birthday Yeezy!

We can all see that Kanye West is totally in love, or others may say infatuated, with Kim Kardashian, but would Yeezy let that infatuation affect his business? You bet he would! According to MediaTakeOut.com, a top-notch source has told them that Kim Kardashian has convinced Yeezy into hiring her mother, Kris Jenner, as his new manager.

Hold on one second. though. Is Yeezy really going to put his career in the hands of a reality show manager? He’s not that crazy — Jenner will allegedly be handling all of his non-music related business only.

The insider explained,”Kris [Jenner] is amazing in what she can get. If you’re a celeb, she can get you big money for tweeting, for sitting at fashion show, for doing interviews. . . It was an easy sell, Kanye was like ‘sure’.” But Kris Jenner will reportedly be handling more than just publicity and appearances for Kanye.

Kris will be helping Kanye get his DONDA fashion line distributed internationally at major retailers.

But you know once she’s in there, Jenner is going to try to take the whole pie! If she has her way, she plans to eventually be managing his touring as well. One thing’s for sure, Kris Jenner knows how to get money!

In related news we hear Kanye celebrated his birthday by giving Kim a blinged out “promise ring.” He supposedly gave Kim the ring in front of Jay-Z and Beyonce while in Ireland. Really Kanye, really?!

Breeding Ground Spotlight: HeavyGold

Baltimore based Emcee HeavyGold is making some major moves and getting some big co-signs. He is backed by the renowned Stay Gettin’ Entertainment. HeavyGold has honed a refreshing style that combines street tales with wisdom and food for thought. HeavyGold is hitting hard with his latest single “YaHurdMe” off of his critically acclaimed mixtape “Golden Dreams Platinum Nightmares” hosted by The Empire. The single “YaHurdMe” is heating up charts.

AllHipHop.com: What’s Good HeavyGold? Tell everyone who you are and what you represent.

HeavyGold: My Name is Heavygold and I’m a rapper born and raised in Baltimore, MD. Music is my passion. Music is my life. I’ve been doing music for quite a while as part of groups and as a solo act. I’ve done a little bit of everything in terms of the things young black youth get into coming up; but now I focus on my music career. I hooked up with Stay Gettin’ Productions who are two of Baltimore’s most credited producers with a host of industry credits as well as a gold plaque for Cam’rons “PURPLE HAZE” album. And we’ve been creating hit after hit ever since.

AllHipHop.com: You have an interesting name. What is the significance of your stage name?

HeavyGold: Heavy represents weight and strength. Gold is one of the most precious metals on earth and it’s very valuable. No matter what you do to gold it can be dusted off and it’s still going to shine. When you put the words Heavy plus Gold together then that equals me. It is symbolic of my music, my image and my brand.

AllHipHop.com: What single or project are you currently pushing?

HeavyGold: Right now I’m pushing my current mixtape entitled “Golden Dreams Platinum Nightmares” hosted by The Empire. The Mixtape is receiving a lot of love and support from notable DJ’s. The Mixtape is fire. It’s some of my best work. I take the listeners on a journey into my world. It’s like a music diary. The lead single is a song called “YaHurdMe,” which I shot a video for. “Golden Dreams Platinum Nightmares” is available right now for free download on Datpiff.

AllHipHop.com: what sets you apart from other Hip Hop artists?

HeavyGold: My versatility is what sets me apart. I operate in my own lane. I make music from my heart and not based on what I hear on the radio. I may do something that’s “hood” or come up with a song that’s out of left field. My music is fresh and innovative yet it can compete with what you hear on the radio. My philosophy is innovate don’t imitate.

AllHipHop.com: What is your opinion of the current state of Hip Hop?

HeavyGold: At times it seems like there should be a governing body for Hip Hop like the NBA or the NFL. You should have to meet a certain standard to play here. I say that because some records, though they may be get a lot of radio spins, bring down the quality of the music overall. A True MC has Good Cadence, Delivery, Content, Rhyme pattern, Dope Lyrics and The Ability to stay in pocket with the beat. And true emcees need to be pushed to the forefront of Hip Hop once again.

AllHipHop.com: I understand you are in the studio working on your upcoming album. What is it going to be like? What can we expect?

HeavyGold: My first LP will be crazy! It will feature some club tracks and a little but of social commentary. And there will be a lot of banging beats from my Stay Gettin team. Also there will be a few joints to show my softer side to the ladies. In a nutshell it will be FIRE!! I put my heart and my soul into my music and the people can feel my passion.

AllHipHop.com: Do you have any final words for the people?

HeavyGold: I would like to thank AllHipHop.com for this opportunity. I would like to give a big shout out and thanks to Stay Gettin’ Entertainment. Also I want to send out my love and respect to my city of Baltimore. There are a lot of good people there. And finally, give me your ears and your eyes and I promise that I will make you feel me. Please log on to www.Staygettin.com and stay tuned for IAMHEAVYGOLD.COM. Peace out!

Suge Knight Beats Marijuana Case

(AllHipHop News) Former Death Row CEO and rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight has been cleared of his weed possession allegations from a February traffic stop in Las Vegas this year.

Steve Wolfson, an aide to Clark County District Attorney, said that prosecutors found there was insufficient evidence to charge “Suge.”

According to The Las Vegas Sun, Las Vegas Municipal Court records show Suge’s attorney, Richard Schonfeld, entered a no contest plea for driving without a license, resulting in a $425 fine, while all other charges were dismissed.

Suge was arrested on February 8 in Vegas after police pulled his car over on warrants for a failure to appear in court on tickets from November 2008.

According to reports, Las Vegas police alleged that Suge possessed less than one ounce of marijuana.

Daily Word: Turn On Your Light!!

Greetings and Salutations, my enlightened ones! TGI….Everyday!

Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to turning your light on! In a world that rewards mediocrity and shuns ambition…. A world that says that there’s only but so many spots for success so wait your turn… A world that is so disproportionately one-sided that we become
conditioned to fight for the same piece of the pie…. It’s no wonder why many of us move through life with our lights dimmed, afraid of what people will think and say!

TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS!! What good is a luxury car that is never driven? What good is a diamond that no one sees? And, what good is your gift if you never unwrap it!? You know the famous Marianne Williamson quote that talks about our fear of being inadequate…. but what about the fear of living a mediocre life? What about the fear of struggling when you don’t really have to? By not shining our lights as bright as we can, we are essentially driving at night in the rain without our high beams on! With life’s many twists and turns, you will eventually crash when you could’ve prevented the damage!

Forget what people say and think!! You are a magnificent being who was put here to maximize your full potential!!! Refuse to be regular and vow that no matter the circumstance, you will give your absolute best in everything you do and never hold anything back!! The world is counting on you to create better balance!! Do what you HAVE to do!! NOTHING CAN STOP YOU!!!!!!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Azealia Banks Dating Her 40-Year Old Manager?

Harlem rapper Azealia Banks has parted ways with her powerful manager, Troy Carter, who is also Lady GaGa’s manager. According to the NY Daily News, Banks is now mixing business with pleasure and is being repped by Dave Holmes, who is also her rumored boyfriend.

In an interview with the Hundreds magazine in January, she told the publication, “I’m into older guys, I won’t front.”

An insider says that the 21-year-old rapper has been in a relationship with Holmes for months now and has let their romantic situation influence her business dealings, and that’s what ultimately caused her to part ways with Troy Carter. Holmes, who is in his 40s, also manages the band, Coldplay.

In the same magazine interview, Banks recalled being 17 years old and dating a 57-year-old man who frequented the Starbucks where she worked as a barista, so this relationship should come as no surprise to her fans.

Her debut album, 1991, was released digitally on May 29, and comes out on CD and vinyl Tuesday.

DUNK THE JUNK VIDEO: Killer Mike, CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, GrassROOTS, and AllHipHop.com in Atlanta

WATCH: CNN Health and Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s Special Coverage of our “Dunk The Junk Atlanta” event on CNN – Saturday, June 16 at 4:30PM EST.

“As much as I used to stay in detention, I never thought I’d have a mural in my honor.”

Killer Mike was beaming as he laughed over his own words outside Emma Hutchinson Elementary School in his hometown of Atlanta. He was being immortalized by “Dunk The Junk’s” graffiti artist, Mike Rich, at the school – for being an outspoken rapper, a community pillar, and a guy who simply cares. The feeling in the air at the school was festive…but the reason for the day was much more serious.

The special guests – including Killer Mike, Dr. Sanjay Gupta of CNN Health, NBA legend Dominique Wilkins, an Atlanta Hawks exhibition team, NCAA Dunk Champion Jacob Tucker. – were there to save lives by combating childhood obesity.

CNN Health and Dr. Sanjay Gupta were on-hand to chronicle the unique “Dunk The Junk” model for partnering Hoops (the exciting dunking exhibition held at each event) with Hip-Hop (via AllHipHop.com and City for Change) and Health Research (via Black Thought’s GrassROOTS Community Foundation) to educate children about nutrition and dispel some of the myths around sugar and fat.

Partners such as AllHipHop.com/City for Change, and GrassROOTS Community Foundation – aimed at enriching the lives of under-served women and girls in Philadelphia, Newark, NJ, and around the country – have helped to bring much-needed media attention and grassroots support to the nutrition/exercise causes championed by people such as First Lady Michelle Obama.

Killer Mike and his rap lifestyle have added up over the years. He’s a massive man – just the right size to back up the intensity of his lyrics on albums such as the brand-new R.A.P. Music, and his acclaimed PL3DGE series.

Killer Mike and Dr. Sanjay Gupta of CNN Health

Health-wise, however, Killer Mike knew his size could get the best of him someday. So he committed recently to making a change – and since then, he’s lost 20 pounds and counting. (Go Mike!) He spoke with CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta at the event about his own health challenges, and what’s been helping him lose weight lately: “Y’all can thank my girl for that.”

The young students at Emma Hutchinson Elementary School may not have realized all of the star power that had been assembled to help drive home the healthy points. But they knew there were adults who cared, that there was a ton of “catching air” by the stunt dunkers, and that certain everyday, sugary processed foods and drinks will do major damage to them in the short and long runs.

Emma Hutchinson Elem. School Students – Atlanta, GA

As for Killer Mike’s advice to the kids (which included NOT focusing on becoming a rapper): “I didn’t eat right all the time, and I got fat. But I’m working on losing weight now…Do well in school, be smart, be healthy, but most of all…BE RIGHT!”

His “don’t rap” stance fell on deaf ears for a few students, though. A fearsome rap foursome from the school – The Shorties – performed their own lyrics about “dunking the junk,” and elicited squeals from their peers and a few possible rap deals in the future from Killer Mike and AllHipHop.com in the process. In the end, the students were left excited, more educated, and hopefully healthier over time.

Check out the exclusive video of CNN Health’s Dr. Sanja Gupta as he talks to AllHipHop.com about why the Hip-Hop community is so important to the healthy youth fight:

Angela Simmons Launches "Bikini" Hair Extension Line

(AllHipHop News) Angela Simmons is diversifying her business portfolio, with the launch of a new hair extension company.

Simmons has teamed with Indiqué Hair, to release the “Bikini” line of hair extensions.

Simmons said she named the line “Bikini,” because of the beachy texture of her first product.

“To me, hair is a statement and an extension of your wardrobe and I’ve always been drawn to fashion and being able to change-up my look,” said Angela Simmons, who is the daughter of pioneering Hip-Hop Reverend Run, of Run-DMC.

“This partnership seemed natural, much like the naming of Bikini,” Simmons continued. “A Bikini is the staple piece during the hot summer months or while on vacation, and the name perfectly describes the beachy texture of my first hair-line.”

According to reps for Indiqué Hair, the line of hair extensions created by Angela Simmons has never been created by any hair extension company before.

“We’ve always admired Angela’s fashion sense and ever-changing hairstyles,” added Ericka Dotson, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Indiqué Hair. “But it wasn’t until we worked with her 1-on-1 during the development of the product that we realized just how creative and business savvy she is.”

Angela Simmons’s Bikini line of hair extensions are due in stores on June 21.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to CancerCare.
