Hip-Hop Rumors: Beyonce Had A Baby Girl Last Night?!
Reports are confirming that Beyonce has given birth to a baby girl! Word is that the celebri-tot has been named Tiana-May Carter. Rumors were swirling earlier this week that Beyonce was due to give birth at St.Luke’s Hospital in NYC, and sources are confirming that she gave birth to the baby girl last night. Congratulations to Beyonce and Jay-Z on a healthy baby girl!

Pretty Boy Reda: Philly's New Young Gunner
Getting a co-sign by The Roots is one thing, but performing at their annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia is another. For Pretty Boy Reda, he has both of these notches secured tightly on his belt, and he’s looking for ways to gain the support he needs from the listeners to take his career from one level to the next. Case in point, he performed on one of the same stages as Yelawolf, Mac Miller, and The Roots this past summer at the Picnic, and has his sights set on both meeting and exceeding his goals for the upcoming year.
AllHipHop.com spoke to the Philadelphia spitter briefly before the New Year to talk about his city’s Hip-Hop scene, his most recent project, Shoot 4 Da Starz, and how he plans to expand his career and success to new heights in 2012:
AllHipHop.com: First off, I want to ask you about Philly. An artist like Meek Mill has had great success in the past year, and on an even larger scale, The Roots are some of the most consistent guys in the industry. Being that you are from Philadelphia, I’m curious what your thoughts are on your city’s current Hip-Hop scene.
Pretty Boy Reda: I think it’s coming back, I definitely do. Everybody should understand that this city has one of the best rappers ever in the game, Black Thought, and my man Meek is holding it down for sure. He’s been opening up doors for a lot of us younger artists and has inspired us to keep our eyes open and know that anything is possible. So I definitely think that the eyes are back on Philly again. I don’t want people to say that I sound like Peedi Crakk, or Beanie Sigel, or Black Thought. I want people to see the influences in my music, but not every artist from here sounds the same, and I think that a lot of eyes are back on us right now.
AllHipHop.com: So you released Shoot 4 Da Starz in October. How has the response been to, what you call, one of your most personal projects?
Pretty Boy Reda: It’s been good, very good. We put out the CD in October and have been getting good results and good feedback from it. We’ve actually been talking to Julius Garcia at Sony/RCA, and since then I’ve been performing all over. I’m also in the studio currently working on my new mixtape. I’ve just been developing man, trying to develop some new music, and further develop my style.
AllHipHop.com: Was there an overall concept for Shoot 4 Da Starz, or was it just a collection of some of your best work up to the point of its release?
Pretty Boy Reda: Yeah, it was. It was a very inspirational thing. Shoot 4 Da Starz is not just a title; it’s the way that I live life. Every song tells my story a little bit differently. It’s all about my story and my experiences.
AllHipHop.com: Is there a personal favorite on there that you would want people to listen to as a good introduction to you?
Pretty Boy Reda: Well, of course I want people to hear the entire thing, but I’d have to say “Glory” is one of my favorite joints. That’s the first song on there, and it has my Mom on it telling me to “wake up.” I also got my uncle on the tape who gave me a real inspirational drop on the CD. That was very special to me because it came from his heart. I was 100 percent hands-on with the project even when I was doing shows and going through my own personal stuff, too, so that’s why I love it so much.
AllHipHop.com: Let me ask you about a couple of other tracks on there. What can you tell me about “The Ghost of Rasheed”?
Pretty Boy Reda: Rasheed is a good friend of mine who passed a couple of years ago. We used to be partners in this rap group called The Under Doggz, and when I heard Jay Electronica’s “Ghost of Christopher Wallace,” I took that as, since Rasheed isn’t here right now, I wanted a way for him to further live through my music. I just wanted to give that feeling that he’s still in the building with us and he’s still with us in spirit. That’s where “Ghost” came from.
AllHipHop.com: The next song is actually my favorite from the mixtape. Tell me about “Moment of Honesty.”
Pretty Boy Reda: That’s just real rap from the first line to the last. It’s me Reda, this is my moment of honesty, and it’s what everybody has been waiting to see and hear from me. A lot of people just heard “Levi’s” wanted something more lyrical from me and that’s what is perfect about “Moment of Honesty.” It’s a moment for me and my career, where I’ve been, and where I’m trying to take things in the future.
AllHipHop.com: I also noticed that about 90 percent of Shoot 4 Da Starz features original production, so tell me about your process for choosing what beat to use and when.
Pretty Boy Reda: Well, I was dealing with a couple of my guys, Manny Wit Da Beat, Sam Greenberg, Kid Genius, and I knew that I wanted to make my own songs and not rap over anybody else’s beat. I wanted to show you why I am should be a top artist, so when I picked the production, I tried to stay away from Southern beats and wanted to find something that matched with exactly the kind of music that I make.
AllHipHop.com: What else do you want people to know about the project?
Pretty Boy Reda: It’s the perfect way to see who I am and what I’m about. It’s a great project, and it’s very mature lyrically.
AllHipHop.com: You’ve ultimately ended 2011 on a high note with the release of Shoot 4 Da Starz, but what do you have planned to continue the buzz and growth in 2012?
Pretty Boy Reda: A ton of live performances in a city near you soon. Definitely going to be putting in even more work next year; heading back to the studio. I’m working on The Leadership right now, which is the next project. The weekly video blogs have been a big hit, so [I’m] going to keep that going so people can still get to see the day-to-day of what I’m doing. We’re going to be dropping more videos, and you’re definitely going to be hearing more songs. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be around bringing you more heat.
AllHipHop.com: That sounds good to me. I’m looking forward to seeing what you have coming up next, and congratulations on the success of Starz.

"Real Housewives of Atlanta's" Sheree Releases Ne Ne Diss Track
Anyone who’s ever tuned in to watch the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” knows the turbulent history between cast members Sheree Whitfield and Ne Ne Leaks. From friends to enemies, back to friends, and for the last two seasons, the two have spit more venom towards each other than ever.
Sheree has taken the feud to a whole other level by releasing a diss track toward Ne Ne entitled “Who Gon’ Check Me Boo,” a play off of her popular catch phrase. Two seasons ago, Sheree spewed the line all over an unfortunate party planner, and it’s become a part of pop culture ever since.
The track is currently available on iTunes, and a portion of the proceeds will go to a Chicago based youth charity that provides academic and artistic education for inner city kids.

Jet Life's Smoke DZA: The "SweetbabyKushedgod" Has Risen
What do you call it when you mix a cold, rainy night, three crazy sidekicks, some of that “Dour,” a candlelit Korean restaurant (with a waitress whose name is NOT Ming Lee), and the NYPD (again)?
You call it an interview with rapper Smoke DZA.
In fact, Harlem’s head honcho of herb always brings an adventure for the cameras – and most of the time, he hasn’t planned it in advance. Things are just zany that way in the life of the laid back, fun-loving Smoke DZA, the recent signee to Curren$y’s Jet Life Records and Smokers Club veteran who has orchestrated the evening’s plans. Which are simply to: Go get some food. Take part in an interview. Go home. In that order. Catching up with Smoke DZA means first talking about holding down “The Smokers Club Tour” again this year, along with some personal power moves he’s made in recent months:
DZA, a.k.a. the self-proclaimed Kushed god, is the center of attention on this particular evening because of a hilarious, smoke-filled video he released on the “night before Christmas.” Over spicy wings and Hennessey, DZA explains that it was something he just “threw together” in a matter of days. The constant high doesn’t seem to keep his creativity low – the EP title, SweetbabyKushedgod, is a play off of a popular track from the smash album, Watch The Throne. And, he says the title track, the laugh-inducing “Christmas In The Trap” video, and the full EP are a holiday gift from him to the fans. Months ago, DZA revealed to AllHipHop.com that he loved Watch The Throne, placing Jay-Z in his “Top 5 Dead or Alive” list, while the NYPD rolled slowly past his interview/smoke session. His love for Hova doesn’t crowd out the Kushed god’s unique sound and persona, though. Spend a few minutes with him, and you’ll notice that he’s an uplifting observer of life in general, even if the “stoner” lifestyle still permeates most of his lyrics. In this clip, he talks about fully embracing the smoky lane he’s been handed, along with some “godly” predictions for 2012:
In the end, when you’re around Smoke DZA, the adventure always continues off-camera. Upon wrapping up the interview and leaving the Korean restaurant, DZA and company, possibly in a post-herbal haze, realize the car they arrived in was mistakenly parked in a tow-away zone. Seriously, the car is straight up gone, but in the cold rain, he calmly handles the situation. Literally within minutes, out of nowhere, a driver/friend comes to the rescue and carts everyone (interviewer included) to the NYPD Tow Impound. Problem solved, the Kushed god moves on, and the blunts keep burning. Riiiiiiiight.

C-Murder Conviction Upheld
(AllHipHop News) Louisiana rapper C-Murder’s sentence was upheld today in a Louisiana appeals court.
The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, is the brother of Percy Miller, also known as No Limit Forever founder Master P.
The three judge panel from the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Miller’s defense that he didn’t get a fair trial in the shooting of a teenager in 2002.
Seven years later, the jury convicted Miller of second degree murder in 2009 for killing the 16-year-old boy in a nightclub.
Miller claims the judge who carried out the trial allowed jurors to hear prejudicial and unsubstantiated testimony, and that witnesses were threatened.
In addition to the aforementioned claims, Miller says the prosecution intentionally eliminated Black people from the jury. All claims were denied.
According to ABC News, one of Miller’s attorneys didn’t immediately return phone calls.
Mac Miller Looks Back On A Crazy Successful Year & Talks Plans For 2012
Last night (December 28) Mac Miller performed his second of two consecutive show-dates at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ.
In front of a sold-out crowd, Mac continued to show those in attendance why their continued support has elevated him to the levels of success that other independent artists would kill for. He was the first independent artist in close to a decade to debut at #1 on the charts since the Tha Dogg Pound. One of, if not, his biggest singles, “Donald Trump,” was certified Gold earlier in the day, and he is a nominee for MTV’s Hottest Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
The big question going forward is what Mac has up his sleeve in 2012 to top the smash year he had in 2011. Besides working with Hip-Hop’s elite like Bun B and Pharrell, Mac revealed that he recently did a couple of songs with Harlem native Cam’ron, that he plans to release some time soon as well. Album Review: Lil' Twist's "The Golden Child" Mixtape
Rating: 3.5 / 10
In case you didn’t know, Lil’ Twist is an 18-year-old artist from Dallas, Texas, signed to the YMCMB collective. Featured on compilation songs and loose Weezy tracks, Twist has become a favorite to a steady group of younger fans. Hoping to enter the New Year on a high note, The Golden Child mixtape heavily samples the 1986 Eddie Murphy film of the same name.
Right from the start, the sound is what you might expect. “Blame Tez” boasts an abundance of bass and corky synth work at an attempt to be catchy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. “Light Up” and “Twisted” follow the same pattern, with the latter being the most successful of the both unsuccessful cuts. Lil’ Twist relies on an array of vocal distortion and sound effects to keep tracks intriguing (like in “Gunzo Meets Twizzy” and “Steady Hatin’”), but it doesn’t always work, as halfway through the mixtape every instrumental begins to sound like work from a poor-man’s Lex Luger (though he does actually make an appearance on “Reckless”), and a flow that does not provide much variety. “There She Go” is comical, as he speaks about women in such an unbelievable manner, and over hooks like “I’m as hard as Godzilla” on “Godzilla,” laughing is all there is to do.
The best song here is, without a doubt, “#1812,” possessing an infectious, crunchy bassline and decent verse from guest Lil’ Za. For the end of the mixtape, Twist slams on the breaks to slow it down with love songs “Past Life” and “If Only She Knew” – a drastic change from the heavy, braggadocio mood of the rest of the project. The best things here are the sometimes catchy beats, but Twist’s flow and lyrics are basic. Like a kid let loose in a worldly candy store, some of his claims are obnoxious and preposterous: pulling triggers, sleeping with lust-filled women, and spending racks. But hey, he’s 18, and in a few years and with a little work, he may be “the golden child.”

Mac Miller Is Too Busy Working To Care…
Mac Miller told AllHipHop.com exclusively that there is no beef with Danny Brown, Yelawolf, or anyone else that has been out there with subliminals or taking shots at him. (BONUS, if you’re bored…click the link for commentary from some unknown Kray guy on YouTube!)
Mac is also working on his follow-up to Blue Slide Park and just wrapped up recording a few songs with Cam’Ron.
In other semi-street news…it’s still the holidays, so the gossip and scandals are slow for now, but here are some Quickies:
-AMC’s western show Hell On Wheels has been picked up for a second season. Why are we telling you this? Because Common is one of the show’s stars. Nuff said.
-Jennifer Hudson recently revealed that she was originally asked to star in the Oscar-nominated film, Precious. She refused to gain any weight for the role, so it went to Gabourey Sidibe who did an amazing job and earned herself an Oscar-nom. J-Hud has an Oscar of her own, so no sweat.
-Kanye recently took to Twitter to explain the following important information to anyone who wants to book him: “My New Year’s DJ name is gone be YEEZY WORLD PEACE! If you book me you have to put YEEZY WORLD PEACE on the E-vite. Or I ain’t spinning.” Oh alright, Kanye. For you, we’ll call you whatever you want. Just make sure you spin some of those new records we’ve been hearing about!!!
Nigerian Government To Sue Rick Ross Over Canceled African Performance
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Rick Ross could face a lawsuit over a canceled performance in Africa that was supposed to take place today (December 28).
Rick Ross was supposed to be the featured performer at the annual Calabar carnival celebration in Cross River State, Nigeria.
Reps for the Cross River State government released a statement to local media, slamming Rick Ross for canceling his appearance unannounced, due to “unforeseen contractual obligations.”
“The rapper, Rick Ross, has issued a statement cancelling his performance at the Calabar Festival, scheduled for December 28, 2011, for reasons not related to his recent surgery and seizures,” the statement read. “The performer’s cancellation is unexpected and the reasons are unknown to Cross River State since he has confirmed receipt of his entire performance fee many weeks ago.”
The government of Cross River State Government has hired lawyers in the United States to explore other options to sue Rick Ross for breach of contract and to recover the performance fee.
“Rick was very excited to attend this event as it is the biggest festival in Nigeria and he is quite disappointed that he will not be performing,” a rep for Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com.
Reps for Rick Ross were not available to comment about the possible lawsuit as of press time.

Whether it’s to show you where you are weak, or to teach you a valuable lesson… One thing is for sure… when the relationship is obviously over its time to move on!!

The rumors have been swirling for a couple of months now that Atlanta rapper Pill had been dropped by Rick Ross’ MMG imprint. More recently, Pill finally addressed the matter by saying that had absolutely not been dropped. NOW, he has fired off about his issues with his record label. Is he talking directly to MMG, or this is a way to get heard by the big brother in the picture, Warner Bros.?
