Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Nicki Plot To “Steal” Diddy!? Lil Wayne Jail Rumors! Bobby Brown Still MIA?!

whispered in our ear. Read on.

THE DAILY TWO SENSE

Yo…real talk. Jay-Z did the right thing for not messing with Game on the rap battle tip. Dude is a BEAST. Here is the video for “400 Bars.”video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

Oh..more real talk. Tell me the game does not NEED Eminem?

BOBBY BROWN – WHERE YA AT?

Bobby Brown…you there, buddy? Wave your arm. Get arrested. Go to court. Do something. We just want to know that you are alive. As I mentioned yesterday, there is this super crazy rumor that Bobby is dead. Still nobody seems to be able to refute that he is not dead. In my heart, I know he is alive…but I am looking for proof. Click here if you want the full rumor about Bobby.

MORE WAYNE IS JAIL RUMORS

I’ll be the first one to admit, I’m not a gangster like the e-thugs. I am under the impression that neither is Lil Wayne. Now, I am not one to question his street cred at all. Here is what I am hearing from a CO in Rikers. I heard – as we have heard before – that Wayne is pretty much to himself. From what I am getting, he seems to be to himself even with the Blood gang members that are in the place with him. If you don’t know, Wayne is a flag waving member of the Blood gang. But I am hearing, he’s not doing any jail house walk-bys with the homies. I am being told that some of the Blood brothers are not so happy about this, because he is supposed to be one of them. Well, I guess Weezy is just looking to do his time and get out of there safe. I heard that some of the homies were throwing signs at Wayne, but Weezy is really…just keeping it moving. Some apparently feel that this is disrespectful. I agree with Wayne..do the time and get on with your RAP career.

USHER IS ENGAGED!?

Before I get into this recent mess of a rumor, I want to clear up another. Usher is not going to get dropped by his label at all. I don’t know what is up with dude and his music, but he’s not getting released at all.

SO…on to the next one.

Apparently, over at theybf.com, they are reporting that Usher is now an engaged man. Remember that older babe he liked? Grace Miguel is her name and they are also saying URSH and she are about to have another baby.

Opps…uhmmm..,Usher and his people have denied that he is engaged and that notion that he is about to have another child. So, you can basically forget everything I just wrote.

In the meantime, Usher’s ex-wife was reduced to a classless gossiper at the sight of her ex with his new babe and her kids.

Where do these people come from and can they be more childlike? I’m just saying – GROW UP!

THE BEEF WAS OVER, BUT HERE IS MORE

Here is Jim Jones talking about the peace treaty with Cam’Ron.

DID YOU NOTICE THIS?

Drake borrows a bit from dead prez. I can’t believe it has been 10 years since “[Bigger Than] Hip-Hop.”

“Uh, one thing ’bout music When it hit you feel no pain White folks says it controls your brain I know better than that That’s game

and we ready for that Two soldiers head of the pack” dead prez -2000

“One thing ’bout music, when it hits you feel no pain

And I swear I got that s### that make these b###### go insane

So they tell me that they love me, I know better than that, it’s just game

It’s just what comes with the fame, and I’m ready for that, I’m just sayin’” Drake 2010

Shout out to Sweeney! Oh yeah. ..I might add that first line is actually credited to Bob Marley in a song “Trenchtown.”

Dead prez!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets get into some more music with meaning.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Remember Divine Brown? She is the prostitute that was arrested with actor Hugh Grant way back in 1995. Pretty infamous. Well, she is trying to get a reality show.

The man that supposedly killed Malcolm X is out on parole now. I wonder if he was an agent of the government.

Charlamagne got a job down in his native North Carolina! Congrats homey! Remember there were rumors that Charlamagne got fired after he had Beans on his previous Philly job talking about Jay-Z. I think that’s it. DID NICKI PLAN THIS DIDDY SWOOP!?

Hey, did you know that Nicki rapped, “I’m plotting on how I can take Cassie away from Diddy”? I didn’t realize it until DRiX reminded me. Looks like she got what she wanted. I wonder if Diddy’s son feels a way about it since Nicki was his date for his 16th. Poor kid. Daddy took his gal. LOL!!!!!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!

Peep This:

In a bid to raise cash and keep the peace in crowded jails, wardens nationwide are offering inmates the chance to order meatball subs, cheeseburgers, chicken parmesan—even a “Pizza and Wings Party Pack,” complete with celery, blue cheese and a Pepsi.

The program goes beyond the old-fashioned prison commissary, with its cup-a-soups and bags of chips, and it can be quite lucrative for corrections departments.

“We have to be creative in tough fiscal times,” said Edwin G. Buss, commissioner of Indiana’s Department of Correction.

But critics worry the service will trigger jealousies, promote unhealthy diets and coddle prisoners.

The service, launched in 2006 by food-service giant Aramark Corp., took off in the past two years amid the recession. Inmates—or, more often, their relatives—place orders on Aramark’s “iCare” Web site. The company tailors its menus to each jail’s rules.

Prices generally run $7 to $12 for a hot meal and $20 to $100 for a junk-food box filled with beef jerky, iced cookies, vanilla cappuccino or other goodies not available in the commissary.

The Indiana state prison system is on track to make more than $2 million this year on sales from the service. In San Antonio, Texas, the Bexar County jail, which makes 45 cents on every dollar in sales, projects its revenue could hit $500,000.

OPEN LETTER TO HIP-HOP

Hey Illseed,

This is my OPEN letter to Hip Hop. Please forward this to the Hip Hop world.

Dear HIP HOP,

First and foremost, please understand that you, the customer, control HIP HOP. Not the artists, not the radio, and certainly not the old white guys at the heads of these labels. These people have a lot of power but if they don’t produce the numbers that is expected of them, they will eventually become POWERLESS. You and I are those numbers.

Together we can make changes.

It all started last week when that Lauren Hill video from TMZ was posted on the net. Then Illseed posted a short interview of her and at the bottom he wrote “She is so Smart”. A couple of days later, i was cleaning up and I decided to put in a CD instead of just turning on my itunes. I had to use my blu-ray player cause my CD player wasn’t even hooked up. LOL. It’s been that long. Anyways, i put in the “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”

Wow, what have WE done to HIP HOP???

That album is a masterpiece. That is Music. PLEASE, I BEG ALL OF YOU THAT READ THIS LETTER TO LISTEN TO THAT ALBUM AGAIN, AND IF YOU NEVER HEARD IT PLEASE LISTEN TO IT FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY. Its very important to listen to the entire album from the beginning to the end and in the the proper sequence.  Listen to that album and only buy albums that MATCH THE GREATNESS OF IT and we can change HIP HOP back to what it was.

Artist don’t make albums anymore, and i know why. It’s because in today’s industry artists are forced into thinking only about the GIMMICKS: the ring tones, the merchandising, etc…(a. Gimmick: A device employed to cheat, deceive, or trick, especially a mechanism for the secret and dishonest control),  But all these gimmicks wouldn’t be so relevant right now if artists made good music. Gimmicks were invented because your album sucks and your single sounds more like a jingle then a song.  Your label and management have to think up of crazy ways to make themselves money because they know a jingle when they hear one. Note to artist: I said make themselves some money.THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU, or us

Let me get back to us, the people, the customer. People please stop calling your radio stations, e-mail video stations and requesting this wack music. These artist can make better music, believe me. We can make them change.

HIP HOP needs all of its categories: Underground, Main Stream, Pop HIP HOP, Ganster Rap, Rap, Back Packer, Hip Hop Soul, etc……, but it doesn’t need all the junk in between.

Lastly, i know a bunch of you are going to say that there is a lot of good HIP HOP out right now but i’m talking about HIP HOP that can be played on the radio and win a Grammy for Album of The Year.  Anytime a good artist tries to go commercial, all they make is JUNK.

PS. If any body thinks “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” is not a HIP HOP album then you need to do more then just read this letter, you need to re-learn what HIP HOP really is.

Thanks Illseed,

PS. I read the rumors everyday and it was funny when you were having some problems with ALLHIPHOP.com and the Staff was posting the rumors…LOL @ the staff. You aint Illseed, but nice try cause we all had a good laugh. BOBBY

RZA To Produce GZA’s Liquid Swords 2

Raekwon’s Only Built For Cuban Linx II may have inspired another Wu Tang sequel.

RZA, the architect of the Wu Tang sound, has announced that he’ll be producing the next installment of the GZA’s Liquid Swords, which is largely considered a classic album.

RZA made the announcement via Twitter.

“IT’S TRUE: “LIQUID SWORDS 2” PRODUCED BY THE ABBOT RZA COMING FALL 2010. WHO’S READY FOR THE WU? BONG BONG.”

Liquid Swords is the 1995 second album from the GZA, but the first during his tenure as a leader in the Wu Tang Clan.

Last year Raekwon released Only Built For Cuban Linx II and the opus was met by worldwide accolades.

No release date has been announced for Liquid Swords 2.

Shane Mosley: Ready for War

You’ve seen the 24/7 episodes. Read the extensive interviews here with trainers Naazim Richardson and Roger Mayweather. But just 5 days from now, all the hype and opinions cease, and welterweight champion Shane Mosley will seek to seal his legacy by being the first man to defeat Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

After dismantling Antonio Margarito nearly 16 months ago, Mosley became the avoided man at welterweight, with writers proclaiming him as the man Floyd Mayweather would never face. Now that the fight is signed, the boxing press and many fans have done a 180, stating due to Shane’s age, inactivity and alleged lack of ring acumen, Mayweather will be the man that’s victorious on May 1. None of that matters to Shane, who spent that last several months with his sole focus on the legacy-altering showdown this Saturday.

Whoever you believe or blame for the fight not happening in the late 90s at lightweight, or in 2006 in welterweight, no one can dispute that no time but now would Mayweather-Mosley be as huge as it is now.

AllHipHop.com: I know you can’t reveal everything that’s going down, but talk about what you’ve been focusing on now in camp being that things are now winding down.

Mosley: I’m just working on being comfortable and being the best Sugar Shane Mosley when I get to the ring. I know I have speed and power, and I’m making sure I use those things because that’s what it’s going to be all about [to get the victory].

AllHipHop.com: This isn’t you’re first superfight, but with all the hype with 24/7 and the drug testing, would you say this is your biggest professional fight ever?

Mosley: Yeah this is a pretty big event. The fights with Oscar [De la Hoya] got me to this point. And this one will solidify my spot in history and make my legacy.

AllHipHop.com: Have your sparring partners been able to replicate Mayweather’s style well?

Mosley: Thanks to Naazim [Richardson] he’s putting 3 or 4 different guys to build Mayweather’s fight style. One focuses on one part of Mayweather’s style, and the next comes in and does another. But the problem is there is no other Mayweather, because if there was he’d be fighting for the championship right now.

AllHipHop.com: I brought this up with Naazim, but I wanted to give you the chance to speak on it. The big rumor for the past week is that you have been looking bad in sparring. What are your thoughts on that?

Mosley: That’s not true, but if people want to believe that they’re entitled to. I don’t know where they would get that rumor from since I train at my house behind closed doors [laughs]. But that’s not accurate at all though.

AllHipHop.com: A big criticism of you has always been that you can’t adjust tactics in the ring. Even in our last interview, you admitted that sometimes it costs you when you push for the knockout too much, like in the Miguel Cotto fight. How are you sure now with Mayweather that won’t be the case, and is the previous criticism valid that you have no diversity in your offense and defense?

Mosley: Well if you look at my fight history you see that I do different things. Even in the fights that I score knockouts it’s been with my right and left hand. I can also move and box or I can punch. I can do everything! That’s the difference between me and other fighters; I’m not just some one trick pony.

AllHipHop.com: Naazim speaks very highly of you and ranks you among the best fighters he’s ever trained. How does he compare to some of the other trainers you’ve had like your father Jack?

Mosley: Naazim is a strategist, and comes up with different ways to beat guys. One way you can tell a great trainer is if they’ve brought up guys from the grass roots, what they can build from the beginning. Not just getting someone when they are up the top of their game and saying “oh I built this champion,” when they already were great. Greatness shows when you get someone that just walks into the gym and you build him from there. Naazim has done that. He’s brought his son up to being an Olympian and then a professional. And then you see what he’s done with Bernard Hopkins and me. So you can see from that that Naazim is a great trainer.

AllHipHop.com: You felt confident in a knockout of Margarito before that fight last year. Do you have a hunch on how you expect the Mayweather fight to go?

Mosley: I think it’s going to be a technical fight. But I think my speed will give him problems [the most]. He’s been fighting a lot of guys that are a lot slower and smaller than him. These guys have been either lightweights or junior welterweights [Writers note: the opponents referenced are Mayweather’s last two opponents: Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Marquez]. The guys I’ve been fighting are welter and junior middleweights. S###, Winky Wright right now can fight at super-middleweight! These guys I fight have been big boys, while Mayweather’s guys are kind of small. [That’s a] big difference.

AllHipHop.com: Being undefeated has become a big thing in boxing. Do you place more blame on the fighters like Mayweather who harp on that, or the media and television networks?

Mosley: I think it might be more of the media. The great fighters are the ones who lose and come back from adversity. And that’s how you can tell where they are at mentally. You can’t really tell from a person who wins every fight, and frankly I don’t think Mayweather has won all of them. I’ve watched the tapes of a few where he might have lost and it was given to him. So that claim can be kind of questionable.

AllHipHop.com: You’re on record as stating the Olympic drug testing has not been a hindrance to training. Instinct-wise from what you’ve seen in this sport and experienced personally with the BALCO scandal, are steroids widespread or just something done by a select few in the sport?

Mosley: I think that in boxing it’s not a big deal. I think people from other sports are infiltrating into the boxing world and trying to figure out ways to make fighters stronger. So the testing is good to block these strengthening trainers from using substances. That’s the problem in the sport.

AllHipHop.com: You’re good friends with Manny Pacquiao, and there has been criticism his way for not taking the drug tests. Do you feel his reasons are genuine and he should get the benefit of the doubt, or do you think people have legit reasons to be suspicious?

Mosley: I really don’t know and can’t speak for Pacquiao. [Pauses] I can’t say what he really believes. But I don’t think he’d jeopardize his career and put himself in that position.

AllHipHop.com: Before the Berto fight, you told me you had been watching tapes of Roberto Duran’s fights with Edwin Viruet, and gotten some ideas. Have you been watching any past legends and gotten any ideas of how to go at Mayweather?

Mosley: I’ve been watching a lot of Sugar Ray Leonard. I watched the fight of him and Floyd’s father. [Writer’s Note: Leonard TKO’d Floyd Mayweather, Sr. in 1978]. It’s always good watching Roberto Duran against other fighters, the way he goes about it. You can learn from the older fighters. Back then, they fought hard and for pride. Tommy Hearns and guys like that.

AllHipHop.com: You brought up Winky Wright earlier. If you would have gotten past him, there was a fight waiting with Felix Trinidad. That would have been a great fight. How would you have approached that bout circa 2004?

Mosley: Probably like Winky did, just outbox him. Trinidad was a very hard puncher with the left hook, but you see how Oscar did, you can outbox him. I might have been able to put him on the floor a few times with the power.

AllHipHop.com: There’s the speed advantage, too.

Mosley: Yeah, speed of the hand and foot. And the timing is there with me.

AllHipHop.com: You, Pacquiao, and Mayweather are the top guys at welterweight. Even though we don’t have a 4th guy, it reminds me of the Fab Four of Leonard, Hearns, Duran, and Hagler in the 80’s. Can you see that happening where you 3 all end up fighting each other?

Mosley: It could happen that way. You have one willing fighter [in me], maybe two [in Pacquiao]. We just need the other one to get into it as well. That would help boxing and get it on the plane it’s supposed to be on.

AllHipHop.com: You’ve said that after you beat Mayweather he’s going to go into retirement. Based on that statement, do you believe Mayweather doesn’t have the mentality to come back from defeat based on how important his undefeated record is to him?

Mosley: That is yet to be seen, even though I’ve said different things about knocking him out. We’ll see what he does after May 1.

AllHipHop.com: Thanks for your time champ and good luck on fight night.

Mosley: No problem and thank you.

Writer’s Note: The wait is nearly over. The final 24/7 episode airs on Friday (April 30) at 8:30PM. Mayweather-Mosley will be live this Saturday, May 1 on HBO PPV. I will be Las Vegas providing extensive coverage of all news and developments. Don’t miss it!

Afeni Shakur Hit With Felony Charges Over Drugs

(AllHipHop News) Afeni Shakur, mother of world famous rapper Tupac Shakur, will appear in court in May, after she was arrested earlier this month and charged with posession of marijuana.

According to the Fayetteville Observer, Shakur was arrested by state alcohol agents.

Police arrested Shakur on Friday, April 16th and hit with a number of charges, including felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance and simple possession of a controlled substance.

Shakur, 63, lives in Lumberton, North Carolina, where she oversees the estate of Tupac Shakur.

Mrs. Shakur was released on $10,000 bond and is due in court in Robeson County District Court on May 10th. Tupac chronicled his mother’s battle with substance abuse on his hit 1995 single “Dear Mama.”

DMX Suing Company for Unpaid Album Royalties

Former

platinum-selling emcee DMX (Earl Simmons) has filed a lawsuit against

an agency he hired for failing to retrieve his song royalties.

The

case was filed yesterday (April 26) against Rich Kid Entertainment 1,

who the Yonkers rapper accuses of paying him nothing from his popular

multi-platinum albums while collecting the royalties themselves. In

addition, X claims the company and its subsidiaries made their own side

deals with his record labels to use his music.

According

to representatives for DMX, the lawsuit has been in the works for the

past year, but was plagued by numerous delays due to the rapper’s

separate legal problems.

Currently,

Simmons is serving a 6 month sentence in Phoenix for parole violation

after failing a drug test. Last year, he served time in the same

jurisdiction for drug possession, theft, and animal cruelty. In 2008,

DMX pleaded guilty in Miami to attempted cocaine and marijuana

possession.

Rich Kid Entertainment, which is based out of Englewood, New Jersey, had been employed by DMX for nearly 10 years.

From

1998-2003, X made music history by becoming the first artist to release

5 consecutive #1 albums. Of those 5, the first 3 albums were

multi-platinum: It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot (4X), Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood (3X), …And There Was X (5X), The Great Depression (1X), and Grand Champ (1X). His last album, 2006’s Year of the Dog…Again, is his only album to debut #2, missing the #1 spot by roughly 100 copies.

At press time, representatives for Rich Kid Entertainment have not answered the complaint, nor has a court date been set.
