(AllHipHop News) This has been a stellar year for A$AP Ferg. The A$AP Mob member signed a deal with Polo Grounds Music and RCA Records, released the buzzing remix to his track “Work” featuring A$AP Rocky, Schoolboy Q, French Montana and Trinidad James, and is prepping to release his debut album Trap Lord on August 20.
Ferg is now sharing more information about who fans can expect to hear on his upcoming LP, and surprisingly the 24-year-old rapper has reached out to some 1990’s rap veterans to make appearances.
“I got some of the best of the best on there. It just got serious and more serious because my features are like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. I got Onyx on the same song as [Cypress Hill’s] B-Real,” Ferg told MTV.
Bone Thugs burst onto the Hip Hop scene in the mid 90’s with their crossover hits like “Tha Crossroads” and “1st of tha Month.” B-Real and Cypress Hill are one of the most recognized representatives of rap-rock fusion. The California group’s song “Insane in the Brain” helped sell over 3 million copies of their second album Black Sunday.

Onyx was originally a four man group from Queens best well-known for their platinum, number one rap single “Slam” from 1993. Former member Big DS passed away in 2003 from cancer. Ferg was able to connect with Onyx frontmen Sticky Fingaz and Fredro Starr.
“[Sticky and Fredro] remind me of A$AP,” said Ferg. “So we had a lot of moments where we weren’t even working, we were just going over like old stories.”
A$AP Ferg had originally planned to release Trap Lord as a free mixtape, but decided that the quality of the project was good enough to offer as a retail album.
“It’s a kind of legendary piece of work. It’s like art. You can’t really give good art away for nothing,” said Ferg.
