(AllHipHop News) Fresh off of clarifying her status with Grand Hustle and former label home Interscope Records, Iggy Azalea has opened up about her soon-to-be-release Glory EP and one of the collaborations to expect on it featuring Pusha T and Cee Lo Green.
“Right now I’m waiting for Cee Lo to send me back his part, ’cause he’s singing a hook on a song I have with Pusha T,” Azalea told AllHipHop.com. “Once I get that back, we should be good to go. Everything else is being mastered and mixed at the moment, so I’m just waiting for that one thing, and then I’ll put it out.”
Regarding the tracks that actually ended up making it onto Glory, she spoke on the difference between the music on her EP and that from her debut album, The New Classic, which is expected to drop before the end of the year.
Said Azalea, “Everything that got recorded for Glory, for the most part, was intended for my album and I was doing this record while I was in Atlanta with everybody from Grand Hustle like Trae [the Truth] and all these other artists, and I was just around stuff that was so ‘rap.’
“I like that ‘rap’ stuff as well, and I thought, ‘I want to make some songs like this and put them on my album,’ and other people weren’t really into that idea. So I thought I could put them out on Glory, because I still want to be able to give this to the world for everyone to be able to know that I can do these type of records.
“I just think that when you’re doing albums and stuff like that, you have to be more considerate of the other people that you’re working with or your label or A&R, and you have to appease these other people and for something like Glory. When it’s free, I get a pass to do whatever I like, and this is what I wanted to do, because of who I was around.”
In addition to clarifying the hold-up of Glory and the sound of The New Classic, Azalea spoke on the misconception that T.I., who is executive producing her debut, has taken full control over the album. She also spoke on the recently-released “Million Dollar Misfits” record with fellow Grand Hustle artists B.O.B. and T.I., and if she has any plans to work with her fellow XXL “Freshman” like Roscoe Dash and Future.
