“[The album’s] definitely about 90% done at this point. Everything else is sample clearances and features,” explains Joey.
Bada$$ has reportedly tapped several high-profile people to provide production for the B4DA$$ LP. Veteran producer Statik Selektah recently told AllHipHop.com that he is playing a big role on the album.
“I mixed a lot of it,” said Statik. “I brought him ideas. I’m very, very involved with his album.”
B4DA$$ (Before The Money) will be the first full length commercial release for the “Big Dusty” rhymer. Joey also addressed how dollars are controlling Hip Hop more than artistic integrity.
“I just feel like people allow the art of Hip Hop and the culture of it to be raped,” added Joey. “That mediocre s**t is ruling. That do even make no sense. You look at these cats’ lyrics, they’re not saying s**t, but it sounds good. It gets you to turn up. It’s making that money. B4DA$$ coming soon.”
