(AllHipHop News) In celebration of his pimp-ness, Mass Appeal will be a hosting a celebration in memory of the late-Pimp C at SXSW.
This Friday (March 18 ) the Pimp C Tribute show will kick off with appearances by Boosie Badazz, Too Short, Lil Flip, ESG, Roscoe Dash, Chuck Inglish, Scotty ATL, Killa Kyleon and more.
In honor of the celebration, Pimp C and Mass Appeal are releasing the latest video for “Triflin’ Ho” off of Long Live The Pimp album.
The most recent post-humous project is the first of all-new, original Pimp C material to be released in over four years, featuring work with some of the late icon’s collaborators as well as contemporaries, such as Nas, T.I., Juicy J, A$AP Rocky, Slim Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, David Banner, Devin the Dude, Lil Keke, ESG, Pimpin Ken, 8Ball & MJG and of course Bun B.
Despite the high regard for a new Pimp C project, Pimp C’s sons Chad Butler Jr and Corey Butler released a statement claiming they were not involved in the creation of the project. They also stated neither offspring would “receive any of the benefits from album sales.”
Tragicly after his passing, an autopsy report confirmed that Pimp C passed away due to a combination of sleep apnea and the recreational syrup drug that proved to be lethal.
