DrexTheJoint recently shared his highly anticipated EP, The One Who Did, and it’s already turning heads. Since its release on January 10, the project has amassed over 1.2 million streams across all platforms, proving that this young artist is far from just another newcomer to the scene. He’s a19-year-old rapper hailing from Santa Ana, California and first became known on the scene for his virla record “Bounce.”

However, the 15-track EP takes listeners on a raw, unfiltered journey through DrexTheJoint’s life. More importantly, it discusses his experiences growing up in Santa Ana, a city he’s incredibly proud of. While many West Coast artists claim LA, Drex stands firm in representing his hometown, and The One Who Did shows just how much that pride and authenticity fuel his sound. “There hasn’t been anybody in Orange County who has done it like me,” DrexTheJoint says. “Somebody who reps the city and county so hard without having to claim LA.” And listening to this project, it’s clear Drex is carving out his own lane.

The EP features a series of collaborations with artists like Heembeezy, Rowdy Racks, and Mike Sherm, each adding their unique flavor to the project while Drex stays true to his roots. From the hard-hitting tracks that show his unapologetic side to the smooth, melodic moments that highlight his versatility, The One Who Did showcases everything that makes DrexTheJoint one of the most exciting young voices in hip-hop today.

Drex’s rise to fame has been fast, but it’s not without its authenticity. His breakout single “Bounce Out” as mentioned before, pulled in over 7 million streams. That natural energy and spontaneity have carried through to The One Who Did, where each track feels like an honest conversation rather than a performance.

DrexTheJoint is introducing the world to a fresh, authentic voice in West Coast hip-hop. Signed to Now & Forever in partnership with Santa Ana Records, Drex is pushing the boundaries of what it means to represent his city while delivering something new and exciting to the culture. “I want fans to feel that West Coast sound when they hear me,” he says, and that’s exactly what they’re getting.

If The One Who Did is any indication, DrexTheJoint is on a trajectory that can’t be ignored. His star is rising quickly, and with his upcoming performance at Rolling Loud California in 2025, it’s clear that this is just the beginning. Fans and new listeners alike can expect big things from Drex this year and beyond.
