Tampa natives Richie Wess & Yung Dred are back with the second installment of their joint album series, My Brother and Me 2: Thicker Than Water. The album opens with a melodic intro song featuring Rich The Kid and sets the hustler and go-getter tone of the entire 12-song project.
Richie Wess and Yung Dred are not new to the industry individually or collaboratively; producing hit singles and projects over the past few years with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. In 2011, they released the urban record “Shawty Is A Freak”, featuring RnB singer Sammie. The song charted #48 on the Billboard Urban Charts and helped the duo gain national recognition.
Since then Richie has developed his fanbase through strategic partnerships with today’s hottest DJs and producers. He solidified his presence within the mixtape culture releasing over ten mixtapes with DJ Spinatik and in 2016 he released a 4-song EP entitled Richie Boomin produced entirely by Metro Boomin. Richie’s latest solo project was Lord Finesse featuring a hit single and video with Fat Joe entitled “Cha Ching“.
Yung Dred solidified his brand presence in 2013 with the single “Throwin’ Racks” featuring Gucci Mane. Through collaborative features, his latest solo project El Plaza and on-stage appearances with his brother opening most recently for Rich The Kid and Jay Critch, Dred has aligned himself as a unique yet complementary artist to Richie.
In addition to the aforementioned Richie Wess and Yung Dred have worked with Jose Guapo, Og Maco, Jay Critch, Bankroll Fresh, Kevin Gates, Yung Buck, Lil’ Boosie, The Game, Rick Ross, Jeezy and more.
Following the critical acclaim of their first joint project which earned them five mics from The Source, My Brother and Me 2 is Richie & Dred’s most anticipated project to date.
