Grammy-nominated artist and entrepreneur Spice recently released her new single and music video, “Spice Marley,” on all music streaming platforms.
A departure from her renowned raw lyricism, the new track gives fans a view into Spice’s softer side, as her first ever reggae single – an homage to the ‘pioneer of Reggae,’ Bob Marley, and her home in Jamaica.
The new song comes after the release of her 2023 single “God A Bless Me,” which she released alongside a viral pregnancy photo signifying her rebirth and new outlook on life since a medical scare in late 2022.
The singer announced on her Instagram that both tracks are part of a trio of releases to celebrate Women’s History Month, with another new song and forthcoming music video.
“‘Spice Marley’ is my Gospel song in Reggae form,” says Spice. “I just want to dedicate this to God and thank him for saving my life.”
Spice’s reign at the top of the reggae/dancehall music kingdom is acknowledged by Billboard, Apple Music and Spotify, who have placed her at the top of their charts in her genre. Spice has a loyal fan base as her music has been collectively streamed more than 433 million times on YouTube and more than 65 million times on Spotify.
With a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album, the YVA Award for Female Artist of the Year 7 consecutive times, and the IRAWMA Award for Female DJ of the Year, the hard-working mother of two shows no signs of slowing down.
