50 Cent Signs On For New Fox Comedy Series ‘My Friend 50’

THE MOGUL TEAMS WITH ‘STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON’ PRODUCER FOR NEW TV SHOW

(AllHipHop News) It appears Fox is ready to extend its rap themed line-up with an upcoming comedy from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. After the huge success of Empire, the broadcast network has picked up 50 Cent’s My Friend 50.

Deadline reports the New York rapper will make occasional appearances on the new series. My Friend 50 centers around a woman named Amanda Kramer. The twenty-something ends up joining 50’s crew, and the entire experience is filmed as a documentary which Kramer narrates. The concept sounds like a mesh between Entourage and The Office.

This latest venture joins 50’s#### Starz show Power and the Sundance TV reality series Dream School on the entertainment mogul’s television résumé. Will Packer (Straight Outta Compton, Truth Be Told) is also serving as an executive producer on My Friend 50 along with Jackson. The show was written by Ava Tramer (The Mindy Project, Trophy Wife) on spec.

“Now you know I ain’t bullsh*tting. I got Will (Green Lit) Packer on the team. We walk in, pitch, then walk out with bag full of money,” wrote 50 Cent on Instagram.
