Boxer Floyd Mayweather was the victim of burglars who raided his Las Vegas home while he was celebrating his 40th birthday in Los Angeles during the weekend. The thieves got away with over $150,000 worth of valuables, according to reports, although the sportsman and his security team are still trying to itemize what was stolen. The burglars made their way into the gated community home via a rear door they forced open. Floyd was celebrating with pals like Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey in L.A. when the robbery took place.
The Travel Channel has announced its latest mini-series from Queen Latifah and Flavor Unit, titled “€œThe Best Place to Be.” The mini-series inspires viewers to explore the world through the eyes and access of Hollywood’s most adventurous, including Queen Latifah, Anthony Anderson, Jason Biggs and Mary-Louise Parker. All of the four one-hour installments follows a noted celebrity as they share the best places to feast, imbibe, shop and sightsee at their favorite international destinations. “€œDid I tell you they call me ‘Queen La-chief-a?€,’” says Queen Latifah of her friends in Rio. “If there’s one thing that represents everything I love about this city, it’s the music. You can feel that African drum everywhere you go. The music energizes me, recharges me, and I feel a real, true connection.” The series premieres on Sunday, April 2 at 5:00 PM ET/PT.
Grammy-winning artist Chance The Rapper will join Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige, John Legend and others as a headliner of the upcoming Essence Festival this June. This year’s celebration takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will highlight Chance giving his Essence Festival debut. More than 40 acts, including No Limit, Records concert featuring Mystikal, Mia X and Silkk and inspired by Master P, BJ the Chicago Kid, Daley, Elle Varner, Emily Estefan, Gallant, Kelly Price, Leela James and Rhonda Ross and more.
