Producer 9th Wonder
has departed from North Carolina Hip-Hop group Little Brother. According to published
reports, the split between the producer and the remaining group was amicable.
The split was due to a nonexistent relationship with Atlantic Records’ A&R
and creative differences within the group. Remaining group members Pooh and Phonte
are working on their third album Get Back, which is slated to hit stores
later this year. The album features production from the Alchemist, Just Blaze,
DJ Premiere and others. Managment for the group stated that they were unhappy
with their deal with Atlantic and that Get Back would most likely be the
last release with Atlantic Records. In related news, producer 9th Wonder has launched
The True School Corporation. According to 9th Wonder, the company produces a traveling
party in different cities that feature Hip-Hop music and images circa 1980-1995.
