(AllHipHop News) Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member Bizzy Bone has signed a new recording deal with Sumerian Records and is planning a mash-up release of hard rock and Hip-Hop. Sumerian Records’ Founder Ash Avildsen confirmed that his Washington, D.C. based heavy metal label signed the world-famous rapper, who will drop Crossroads 2010 this August. “It’s true and the album is incredible,” Avildsen told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “Anyone who has closely followed the label knows that we have never been one dimensional in the bands we have signed and the records we have released. While we have been making a meaningful impact on the current state of heavy music, the true theme to Sumerian has always been about progressive music, not just metal. Bizzy Bone is one of the most progressive vocalists I have ever heard.”Avildsen said that Crossroads 2010 is the most “polished” work Bizzy Bone has released since his 1998 solo album Heavenz Movie. Crossroads 2010 will feature a variety of artists on the Sumerian Records imprint. Artists like Javier Reyes from Animals As Leaders, Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, Jonny Craig of Emarosa and Devin Oliver of I See Stars are among the rockers contributing to the album, The first single from the album is titled “So Cool” and is currently available for purchase on iTunes and other online media retailers.“Known in his genre for being the fastest yet the most melodic, the most technical yet the most harmonic, the marks Bizzy has left in music are something I will always love,” Avildsen continued. “The fact that Bizzy and Bone Thugs all booked one way Greyhound tickets to LA and lived on the streets until they were able to get discovered and signed is true artist dedication to their craft. This same spirit is something that has allowed many Sumerian bands to organically build their careers and achieve their dreams.” Sources told AllHipHop.com that Bizzy Bone was in the process of writing his autobiography. The book will explain his early child hood, including his kidnapping as a child and subsequent feature on America’s Most Wanted, his rise to fame with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, his well documented drug use and his struggle to stay sober. A digital-only version of Crossroads 2010 is due online July 27th, while the full album is due for release on August 24th.
